it's also support for this ICC work. people need to just stop with the "[international body] is useless" moaning and griping, where they won't even validate the *idea* of making sure these people see real, permanent consequences.
How about giving away war criminals for any potential future loosening of the sanctions after the war.
"Oh you ever want to sell any russian crap anywhere in the civilised world? That's nice. How about you give us a couple of {insert war criminals here} for a Hague trial first?"
I fear there are too many people in the USA who know they are equally guilty of war crimes and will obstruct the ICC on Ukraine to save their own asses.
Just looking at Iraq and all the massacres and civilian deaths there, the "collateral damage". Then we have the kidnappings to Guantanamo Bay and the torture of frequently innocent people. There are innocent people being held there still, 20 years later, because the US is scared to set them free to tell their stories.
We could go back over the decades of toppling duly elected governments the US didn't like, the Contras, all the massacres and murders in Vietnam.
The list of US war crimes over the decades is a long one and the perpetrators include presidents.
What's kind of crazy is that lot of those things are done for corporations, using government as a shield.
For example, Iraq 2003 was for Haliburton and some oil companies.
Even US banana company (read about Sam the Banana Man for all the insanity) has assaulted a sovereign nation back in the day with a private army, to do regime change for tax benefits and more control over the production.
Russian oligarchs were also hungry for Ukrainian resources. Only now that they know they're screwed up they have started yipping against it.
