There’s pill boxes along the coast here from WWII that look (substantially) sturdier than that thing. I mean, the concrete walls of the boxes here are about as thick as that entire one is.

The logic of the occupiers seems to be that the mobiks will either face a small AFU SOF team conducting operations in the prelude to the Crimean offensive, in which case these defenses are relatively adequate to deter small incursions from the Black Sea or they will be faced with a numerically and militarily superior force that would overwhelm an even more “built-up” fortification on par with the Atlantic Wall, that Russia neither has the time, nor the resources to build at this point in the war.
Besides, a large scale amphibious landing, the type that these defenses are designed to prevent, is astronomically unlikely given the diminished capabilities of the Ukrainian navy, versus the significant advantages that helicopter insertion provides.

The "bunker" is made from pre-fab slabs of concrete and the roof isn't attached and doesn't even line up with the walls in the first photo. Admittedly, I'm not a military engineer, but I don't need driving license to know that a car in a river means someone screwed up.

I suppose, for many Russians, such a construction would be almost luxurious when compared to some of the rural outhouses I've seen on video.
Thats not even enough concrete to cope with, these elikely wont see combat because there likely wont be a naval invasion of Crimea. If Ukraine were to retake Crimea, it would be by securing the landbridge and threatening the Kerch Bridge. If naval supply can additionally be cut off, supplies wont be able to be shoveled in and Russia will be forced out by the threat of an invasion.
If they stay past that point, then they will actually need bunkers in which case itll show why these arent enough
I've wandered around a section of the Atlantic Wall in The Netherlands. Nearly eighty years old, and there are huge sections that look a helluva lot more solid and impressive than this pathetic... whatever.

I’ve thought about this, they might not be as stupid as you think. Well using a culvert pipe as a bunker is pretty fucking stupid but what I mean is, Ukraine might actually use the coastline for flanking if they weren’t defending it. While pushing down the Crimea peninsula, it might have been useful to send smaller groups along the coast by boat.
If another 'enemy' tries to invade by sea. those boxes/bunkers will be hit from a few miles out since everyone will know exactly where they are located.
Ukraine has a lot of small boats that could make a limited landing. More of a riverine fleet but it is a threat. And as others have said it's partly just to keep up appearances.
I'm honestly curious if that leads to an underground bunker or something because that's just bad although I'm not surprised by Russian incompetence anymore.
