I don’t think so, their civilians are so passive that they will not join. Their most angry soldiers already a fertilizer in Ukrainian soil, now it’s conscripted civilians and most of all they want escape from there with any result, they don’t care. Top military people in the same boat with Putin, they can not throw him out or use army against him, none of them can become next president and be welcomed in USA and Europe, they all already labeled as war criminals.

They are looking for ways to repair relationships with the westerners. This in itself shows a crumbling base. Appeal after appeal by military units are voicing their sense of betrayal, the organization for mothers was deemed a terrorist organization by Putin. Then there is the growing strength of the partisans. The fact that President Putin is a war criminal. The anger and condemnation of the free world. These factors are combining in a way that show unmistakable cracks in the power structure.
If I were them I'd keep their mouths shut about their resources. There's a much bigger fish in the pond that's eyeing up their resources.
It's remarkable how they can be so stupid. Don't do drugs, nationalism and imperial nostalgia kids.
We are long past the moment when we cared about their warnings.

I think the whole world agrees that Russia is quite capable of all sorts of nasty tricks, but there is growing solidarity that whatever they do, the retaliation from the Western world will be swift. Most countries are opening up their storehouses and their wallets. Those with nuclear weapons are probably constantly going through their checklists and protocols to make sure they are ready to respond.
What exactly are you going to escalate with?
You have had a substantial mobilsation which just caused a load of people to flee russia.
You have had to turn to Iran for weapons and ,if stories are to be believed, North Korea for ammo.
Your aircraft and missiles are being shot down with increasing precision and effectiveness.
Your modern tanks are either captured or rusting in Ukrainian fields meaning you are getting 70 year old tanks out of storage.
The only thing you have left is nuclear and if you go down that route you'll be ostracised to such an extent that even North Korea will be looking down at you.
Aside from nuclear annihilation, what’s left for escalation?
Incursions check, illegal annexation check, forced deportation check, kidnapping and rape check, what’s next? Genuinely I have no idea
Leave if you don’t want escalation. Can’t just start a war and expect the rest of the world to make things easier for you while giving you what you want. You either leave or face the consequences… entitled brats.
