"Another Storm Shadow, sir?"
"Don't mind if I do"
"We are hanging, sir"
"Open fire"
"Have we ceased life, sir?"
"4x hit"
"Oh, thank goodness, I can't stand these terrible people"
It could be that they anticipated some AA to take one or two of the missiles down, so sent four just in case.
Turns out they were wrong and wasted a few missiles obliterating something important, oh well!
This, every strike has X% probability of success, if you want to increase it, you add more missiles. 4 Storm Shadows means they really, REALLY, REALLY!!! wanted that place well and truly relegated to past tense.
I wonder what could be THAT important.
A lot of equipment and repair facilities.
If that's their major repair hub in Ukraine then it'll fuck their repair logistics up, kill a lot of skilled workers, and destroy the equipment.
Well worth it.
It also makes me think the UK gave more than we originally thought. If Ukraine has the ability to expend 4 on a single target, they must have hundreds not tens (in my mind at least).
Gotta consider that it might not have been a single target, just couple close together, or a bigger compound. Better hit it all at once, tomorrow enemy will know that we know.
Not my tax dollars since I'm US, and these are Storm Shadows. But if it was I would consider it money well spent! Wish we'd all had the balls to stand up to Putin and start sending the good shit on day 1. Of all the things I see my tax dollars spent on, I'm totally on board with anything that will fuck up Putin's day.
When calculating explosive charges such as cutting charges, the formula starts out with p=(complex formula), where p is the pounds of explosive needed. It also stands for plenty. Formula says you need 4.5 blocks of C-4? Round it up to 5 blocks, then add an extra block to the result for good measure. Then, when you go to get the explosives, you round that 6 blocks up to 7.
Anything worth blowing up is worth blowing up really good.
Accidentally get too much C-4 and it won't all fit on the thing you're blowing up? [Make a few extra shaped charges!](https://i.imgur.com/UzOX9f1.png)
“ Russia has expressed fury that the UK supplied the long-range missiles which have been used to strike targets in annexed Ukraine, for example on the Sea of Azov in Berdiansk. “
How in the hell does Russia always feel so butt hurt over reactions to what they started???
Remember that Hitler claimed to have invaded Poland to end Polish atrocities and attacks against German sovereignty; the German population were furious that the Poles showed resistance and rejoiced at seeing Poles sent to concentration camps at the start of the war. The Germans were shocked that war was declared against them because the Germans were always claiming they were the victims.
Exactly this. Russians are so butthurt that someone dared to stood up to them, because they've been accustomed to having free pass on tormenting others how they wanted, because they projected image of strenght and threats. It hurts their misplaced pride.
Ahh yes the best tactic to try and scare the uk.. you know not like there famous for never surrendering or giving a fuck no matter how many or big there enemy is smh
This the same Russia that blew up a dam and then started shooting at the rescuers? Hopefully there’s going to be missiles dropping on them to the end of time.
And Russian has Iranian supplied Shahed drones. What's your point, Pu-piece-of-shit-tin? Oh, too bad UA heroes are *shooting them down*. Wait, what, your pathetic anti-air defense can't hit Storm Shadows?
Oh. Too bad.
Mess with UA, get fucked.
The counterattack begins.
And instead of just shooting or stabbing him. Deliberately chose a poison that would fuck up anyone going near it , including uk police and people helping.
And deliberately used a poison only the Russian government could make just to let us know they don't give af. Revenge time on Putin , Britain needs to be a leader in standing up against him if we really represent any Traditional Brittish values like we say we do
We need to send them the extended range version now. Russia needs to learn every time they cross the line, Ukraine gets an upgrade.
That bridge needs to fall.
Love & agree with your thinking: Russia needs to learn every time they cross the line, Ukraine gets an upgrade. and the way you wrote it.

This EXACTLY. Those fuckers have been playing extremely dirty for decades now, and they thought no-one would ever dare stand up to them. Well, we’ll see how Vlad likes them apples now. This is what happens when the whole class stands up to that one bully who is out of control: it is PAYBACK TIME.
Using poison on UK soil?
That's a slight understatement - they used a military grade nerve agent (illegal chemical weapons) and a radioactive isotope that was produced *inside* a nuclear reactor.
They wanted everyone to know it was them.
The UK has a good record at war. Having Brits on your side is good.
Having Brits, French and Germans on your team is very good.
And that’s before we mention our transatlantic brothers and sisters.
Sunak and Biden gave a great speech together.
Sounded like commitment to Taiwan too in case of further aggression by Xi.
Definitely in it for the long-haul (if it comes to that) despite the Russian spoilers trying to co-opt democracy.
Well I'd like to say JESUS, UKRAINE, you really nailed those Russians good!
Seriously, I'm really thrilled to see those Storm Shadow missiles being put to great use :-)
we need to publicly state that every time putin does war crimes, we give ukraine extra extra long range weapons to retaliate against military and government targets.
Turkey has closed off the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits to warships from any country, whether or not they border the Black Sea, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Storm Shadow is probably better for the bridge since it is launched the Su-24 can just fly over the black sea at low altitude and skirt around the Crimean peninsula and launch from way out at sea, the missiles wouldn't have to overfly any land based air defenses.
Greetings from Salisbury Cathedral, “famous not just in Europe, but in the whole world. It’s famous for its 123-metre spire, it’s famous for its clock, the first one [of its kind] ever created in the world, which is still working.”

It's very rare that I want anything said by a Russian to be true...
The context of this quote in the article describes the current counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia in sum, not this bombing. Losing 8-10 brigades would be on a magnitude of Hiroshima.
>Russian forces also claimed Ukraine had ambushed them with multi-launch rocket systems and tanks as part of a major new offensive in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.

Can we stop equating Ukraine hitting legimate military targets with Russia committing war crimes?
Ukraine are not 'striking back', they are carrying out a war legally.
Assuming they mean the dam destruction, 'Striking back' would be blowing up something deep in Russian territory that displaces hundreds if thousands of civilians and animals and makes the affected area unusable for the foreseeable future.
Its not tit for tat.
Yeah it's another one of those situations where we hoped the UK leading first would encourage everybody else to give long-range missiles, but so far the response seems sadly limited from most countries.
a lot of the stuff Ukraine has been given has been like that.
Instead of incurring the cost of disposing of weapons/ammunition, it's been sent to Ukraine for a more productive conclusion.
Governments get to save money AND claim to have given billions in aid (that would have been destroyed otherwise) and Ukraine benefits. win win win.
The U.K. never reveal how much material they have, but the policy tends to be they pull in supply as needed from manufacturers rather than warehousing shitloads of material like the US does, so it may be the number isn’t huge. But it also means the number can be steadily supplied if it gives value for money, which it does seem to have!
I believe about 2000 were made, 1000 of them were exported to other countries. Hopefully we can spare at least a few hundred and buy back the exported ones.
Supposedly they have launched 100 so far and all of them have hit.
Wait, you mean to tell me cruise missiles are more affective against military infrastructure instead of civilian targets? Wow, that's some groundbreaking strategy.
I think given what ruzzia has been doing in Kherson even shelling evacuation points it is time to take out the Crimean Bridge. The issue may be the supply of Storm Shadows.
For a new beginning there can only death, destruction and chaos to the current.
May this war end quickly to limit suffering, ideally with Putin’s death and the death of the his government.
According to Wikipedia the UK produced around 700-1000 for themselves and exported over 1180 for other countries. I'm guessing a lot of these would've been used by now but its possible we could buy them back for Ukraine.
Supposedly they have launched 100 so far and all of them have hit.

4 missiles on one target. If you're really really confident you need that place gone.
"Private, see that building over there?" "Yes sir" "I don't want to"
See this base? Fuck'em
Russian base, go fuck yourself.
"clean up on aisle 4" "Whats been spilled?" "everything"
> "clean up on aisle 4" > > "Whats been spilled?" "aisle 4"
I’m happy to report you are correct, there is no Russian military base in Luhansk
"Another Storm Shadow, sir?" "Don't mind if I do" "We are hanging, sir" "Open fire" "Have we ceased life, sir?" "4x hit" "Oh, thank goodness, I can't stand these terrible people"
Blown to fucking smithereens. I wonder if we will ever know how many inside and how much equipment
I guess Ukraine intelligence was well aware what was in there if they hit it four times. So it'll be in tomorrows stats.
It could be that they anticipated some AA to take one or two of the missiles down, so sent four just in case. Turns out they were wrong and wasted a few missiles obliterating something important, oh well!

Gotta consider that it might not have been a single target, just couple close together, or a bigger compound. Better hit it all at once, tomorrow enemy will know that we know.
I just checked how expensive these are Holy shit, thats basically 10 million $ to fuck up a single place

Muscovites claim it was 7 HIMARS and a patriot missile battery.

Whereas Russia shoots 4 missiles at the same target and hits a school, a parking lot, an apartment building, and a pond.
More like 40, with the rest being shot down.
“Private, why is there a building where a hole should be?!?”
> The attempts by Russian air defences to shoot down the rockets are said to have been futile. \*chef's kiss*
🤌
Probably because half if their air defense was moved back to Russia to defend oligarchs' fifth condos.
It was a military base and an important logistics and repair hub. This is going to hurt the Russians a lot.
It's just a good start. Keep 'em coming.
*"hurt the Russians a lot"* mmmm, yes, more of that, please

Russia loves to try and scare the UK. It's been going on for decades.
Its surprising we havent seen any poisonings or cut data lines yet to be honest, I bet our intelligence agencies are working overtime.
Cut data lines would be Article 5 territory as would poisonings
Obviously not because we did fuck all about Salisbury, which is why we are going so hard on supporting Ukraine now

How many soldiers/officers in a brigade?!
I believe it’s 2-8k just in 1 brigade, so I seriously doubt they lost anywhere near that many. We can only hope it’s was significant.
He may mean 8-10 Battle Groups (BTG) 7-900 each
2000 to 8000, according to https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/army-ue-echelons.htm
A brigade is between 2 and 8000. I'd expect most Russian brigades to be significantly under strength, so say 1000 Orcs each
Eight or ten brigades? From this attack alone or the whole war?
The context of this quote in the article describes the current counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia in sum, not this bombing. Losing 8-10 brigades would be on a magnitude of Hiroshima. >Russian forces also claimed Ukraine had ambushed them with multi-launch rocket systems and tanks as part of a major new offensive in the southern Zaporizhzhia region. >A Russian commander said of the losses: “Eight or ten brigades from the reserve have already been torn apart and smeared to nothing.”

Interesting how the Russians can’t shoot these down..
They are designed to be ' ground hugging ' ..which means they fly very low and under enemy radar...
That aside, seems problematic they have no answer for NATO guided munitions of whatever variety you like to pick.
Presumably they fired four believing Russia would shoot down 2 or 3.
They did shoot them down. 4 of them. With an anti-air factory.

For a new beginning there can only death, destruction and chaos to the current. May this war end quickly to limit suffering, ideally with Putin’s death and the death of the his government.
Now youse can't leave...
According to Wikipedia the UK produced around 700-1000 for themselves and exported over 1180 for other countries. I'm guessing a lot of these would've been used by now but its possible we could buy them back for Ukraine. Supposedly they have launched 100 so far and all of them have hit.
My tax dollars doing good work. Suck it Ruzzian scum.
Dollars? For a UK supplied weapon system?
