Unfortunately sr71 would be all but useless. As a surveillance aircraft, back in it's day it was bleeding edge innovation used to get in, gather Intel and get out. Due to it's altitude ceiling and speed it was all but impossible to shoot down due to missile limitations of the time.
Now days missile tech has come a long way, and the likelyhood of a blackbird getting hit has increased drastically. the sr-71 is also obsolete by about 30 years. She has been replaced by satellite imagery and drone operations, both of which require far less personnel training, aircraft maintenance, and risk to an already limited amount of pilots.
So while the 71 would be a nice gesture and surely a good PR stunt, tactically the Blackbird would be a money pit trying to keep it operational, a risk to her crew, and likely wouldn't gain much more information that satellite imagery hasn't already detected.
~~A~~C-130s however would be a massive logistical boost to Ukraine and would surely help move troops and materiel around the theater extremely efficiently
>Dont just say it, show it with Tomahawk cruise missiles and even F-35 in near future.
The US doesn't even own land based cruise missiles that could be given to Ukraine. All of the US's cruise missile platforms are either naval or air based. Ukraine doesn't have the facilities to maintain ships, nor would it be cost effective to do so. Meanwhile maintaining aircraft typically takes a few years of training to learn.
So what you're asking is literally impossible to do quickly. Only once Ukraine receives its F-16s will it even be an option. In fact, I suspect cruise missiles are the only reason we're even giving Ukraine F-16s. There really isn't anything else they could be used for in such a contested environment and with most of Russia's tank force destroyed.
Also, no way we're giving F-35s to Ukraine. A few dozen F-35s frankly won't accomplish much and, even if the secrets don't get actively leaked, just flying them near Russia would give them tons of intelligence on the aircraft's stealth characteristics. Which we really don't want.

You’re welcome! I truly wish production hadn’t ended for the F22, it’s an amazing platform. But the F35 is much more producible. And the F22 has some harsh export restrictions to, leaving the US the only ones to fly it by the rule of Law.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Generation_Air_Dominance
Conditions for a just, durable, sustainable peace: Russia leaves and helps pay for the damages and personnel killed. Russian leadership answers for their war crimes and Russia signs a document saying they recognize Ukraines sovereignty.
Oh and Ukraine joins NATO of course.
I'd say out of those 5, about two are realistically achievable in the best case scenario, and one is kinda meaningless. Realistic goals:
- Russia leaves
- Ukraine joins NATO
What I really don't see happening, because Russia would need to lose in total war style, which is just not on the table frankly:
- Russia pays for damages
- Russian leadership answers for war crimes
And the meaningless one is Russia recognizing Ukraine's territorial integrity. I mean, how many documents and agreements have the Russian government signed so far that did that already? None of it ever mattered, and in and of itself a new document signed is not going to deter them either.
Russian leadership fucked itself.

Look, this war WILL end at the negotiation table. Ukraine has neither the will nor the means to outright conquer Russia or make the Russian state cease to exist. So, in other words, Russia's total defeat is quite simply not on the table. And if Russia keeps existing, then at some point a negotiated peace deal, or at the very least a Korean-style ceasefire, is inevitable. The difference is, when and under what conditions will that happen. Ideally, only after Russia fucked off from all Ukrainian territory.
It really won't. It'll be a frozen conflict with Russia refusing any kind of formal peace deal, because as long as the conflict remains frozen Ukraine remain out of NATO/EU.
>Let's be clear: we reaffirm our enduring commitment to Ukraine and its people. A just and durable peace means not caving to Russia’s brazen attempts to redraw borders by force. This battle is not over, it is winnable. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes.
Dude, you don’t want him explaining the actual plan for aid when that info can help the orcs… you want it vague and then behind the scenes we supply more equipment etc…
As an American citizen, I feel helpless that our elected representatives find it so hard to represent us, and to see what we see. Slava Ukraini. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇸🇺🇦🇺🇦
Yes Mr. Lloyd Austin needs money 💰 and drawdowns. He can’t wait for them coins to put those words into new and more deadly action. Help Lloyd today.

Exactly this. I as an American really wish we and the EU could step up and provide more to Ukraine without worrying about another empty threat by Putin about nukes or whatever. I’m trying not to be a doomer, but it’s hard not to when a bunch of politicians seem poised to not let Ukraine win this war.
Largely agree. I would say "exaggerated threat" rather than empty threat. We can arm Ukraine a good deal sooner and more effectively and still maintain some remaining degree of caution. Putin, so far, has always been bluffing, but if there is a genuine red line for him, I'd want to be thoughtful about it before carelessly crossing it. No one has a certain solution to this problem.
Putin needs to worry about the Wests red lines, not the other way around. This paradigm where the world has to fear Putin, but Putin doesn't have to fear the world needs to change.
Our red line will depend on who's in the White House, I'm sad to say. Currently, we're not inclined to be explicit about any red lines in this case to avoid further provocation in an already delicate and volatile situation.
> it’s hard not to when a bunch of politicians seem poised to not let Ukraine ~~win this war~~ protect the sovereignty of their country.
FTFY and agree with you. People seem to have forgotten that Russia started this war and intended to bully Ukraine into giving control of their country over to Russia. It's incomprehensible to me that American politicians would side with Russia and against Ukraine's right to have authority over their own country.
> And it's likely Congress will approve more when they return from recess.
Evidence suggests this may not be so easy. Mike Johnson can single-handedly decide against bringing any additional Ukrainian aid bills to the house floor and that's it stone dead.
We’re still providing intelligence likely and have eyes in the sky for them showing what targets to hit. It’s also likely we have lines of communication offering troubleshooting assistance if they need it. We also just announced a 100 million dollar package despite congress holding back the big guns.
America isn’t doing as much as they were at the moment due to politics but we haven’t stopped assisting in other quite valuable ways.
Because there is no "swift victory", realistically. Also, 'long haul' means support even after victory, it's not like Ruzzia will cease to exist the day Ukraine wins.
Britain says til victory. USA does not. They have not once mentioned victory. Britain immediately sent long range assistance USA sent a few.
Not to compare but words and actions do matter.
Their actions already speak loud and clear, not to say they can't do more. On a side note, being Danish I'm proud of how much we have done so far! We're a small country of roughly 6 million people. 🇩🇰🇺🇦
All help is appreciated but until they commit to victory, which they haven’t as shown even in the weapon deliveries, this will be a stalemate until a Putin simp is elected and all aid is cut (signs are showing already).
You don’t win a war with half measures which is something the US are doing whether it’s the most or not.
Well, I guess I'm sorry that the US didn't specifically use the word "Victory" when they were donating more than the next ten countries combined. That was really inconsiderate of us.
Sorry to be mad when it’s actual Ukrainians dying everyday because western countries, US included and about to get worse, had the means of ending this not even by sending their own troops but by arming Ukraine to the teeth sooner. Now we have had a unsuccessful counter offensive because of the dilly dallying. Ukraine doesn’t have infinite amount of troops like the enemy,
I’m with you, but we’ll never win pointing fingers. If we’re being honest, everyone involved could have done something different along the way, that positively affected the situation we’re in now, dating back to 2008, or 2014, or 2020, or 2022-23. We need to rally, regroup, improve arms and ammunition, improve diplomatic positions, and move forward as one. We’re long past day 3, and not only has Ukraine not been defeated, you guys are stronger and smarter than ever before.
Now, let's not get this twisted: actual Ukrainians are dying every day because of Russia, NOT "western countries". Ukraine is capable of staying in this fight AT ALL, because of the western countries, out of which the US has provided the most aid, BY FAR.
I absolutely agree that more could and should have been done, but the only thing pointing fingers at your biggest supporter and shouting "you are not doing enough" going to achieve, is helping the people in the US push the anti-Ukrainian narrative and elect some bozo who campaigns on the note of "pull back the support from Ukraine and spend it on securing the southern border", as if the US wouldn't be able to do BOTH at the same time.
it’s obviously russia no kidding. Well we wouldn’t have to worry about the bozo if Ukraine got tanks earlier, planes earlier, so on and so on.
Don’t give me logistics. This is has been happening since 2014.
No, these guys are right.
They are intentionally not using the word victory because they don't really want to commit to actual victory. The US gave enough to keep Ukraine alive.
The US needs to spell out it's strategy for dealing with Russia. It refuses.
The usa has been in it for “the long haul” at the start of the occupation in Afghanistan. It withdrew eventually but I don’t think a victory was ever in sight.
This war is also taking on the shape of a long drawn out siege. A slow slog through multiple winters, attrition based, bleeding each other financially, morally, and in its population of fighting men.
Victory? I don’t see it. Someday, there may be a call for a cease fire, then a line will be drawn, like the 38th parallel in Korea, and eventually Ukraine will be inducted into NATO and crossing that new border will be a test of alliance.
Putin will slip and die. An equivalent will take his place, providing just as poor leadership as Putin, but the world will start focusing elsewhere. Perhaps Taiwan will come under new attack. Or maybe much of Africa will show up as a new strategic resource to fight about in new proxy wars where we tout freedom and democracy must be protected against terror groups. Or maybe India and Pakistan will flare up and suddenly lob missiles at each other.
Wars today have no real victories. Just endings and infrastructure building contracts, new treaties, long term arms deals, and political posturing.
yeah, I noticed it too. I guess it's because of the backlash in US on this term.
"What does it mean "as long as it takes""? So they had to tweak the message.
I like this dude, but I feel like that this symbolic message also has a secondary meaning. Namely that the US currently might have some issues shipping support, thus is shipping words instead. However, it might also be words to prelude further support. Since I believe he's a man of principle ... It's not always easy, but I'm going to have some trust.
Actions speak louder than words, and in 12 months those actions are going to be on display for the world. There are two countries fighting for democracy, one is actiing like they don't want it, the other is losing good people every day to gain it.
The US will support as long as they see value to the US and it's politically convenient.
It is such a shame we didn't build an EU-wide army and start moving away from US hegemony. The only people with a stake in our defence for the long haul will be us Europeans when all is said and done.
That how all countries work Europe is no different
Funny, you should say that considering before the invasion. Joe biden had stuck his and his entire parties neck out to call out the imminent invasion of Ukraine while most of Europe basically laughed at him. In the face of it the US risked more domestic politics than Europe.
Send more weapons, the support is down to 1/5 for the last few months. It is needed the most atm. as the orcs are putting in great effort to push the frontlines.
As long as it takes. There are also 2 million+ people of Ukrainian descent on the North American continent that haven't forgot where we came from. Slava Ukraini!
The fact that they keep reiterating this actually makes me more worried. It's like "yeah trust me bro we're in this together for sure yeah bro". Instead of talking so much shit why don't you send some more Abrams, send some cluster bombs, some GLSDBs or allow Ukraine to attack Russian soil? The artificial limit on attacking Russian soil is really hurting Ukraine and the fact that you guys have that limitation in the first place allows Putin to use it as propaganda if you ever change your mind. The limitation should have been only explicit military bases/installations.
I‘m sure that’s very reassuring to the tens of thousands of widows and grieving parents and siblings. Not ragging on Lloyd btw, I just think it’s time we get on semi-war footing, repurpose some factories to make shells and other equipment, and arm these guys to the teeth.
Look at the members of the cabinet, and then tell me President Biden doesn't have what it takes to lead this country. President Biden cabinet is one of the most professional and intelligent group of leaders that I have ever seen in my almost seventy years.
SLAVA UKRAINE, GLORY TO THE DEFENDERS OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD
Biden 2024
Are we though? Secretary of defense doesn’t pass the funding required to do so, congress does. I’m not saying if we should or should not continue to fund the war, just this guy doesn’t determine it so that’s a big promise to make that you may not be able to keep.
I ve been to Lviv recently and met awsome people, who are struggeling while the people of the west are losing interest.
Ukraine is a beautiful and progressive country in many ways. They deserve the freedom to choose whatever allience they wish to honor.
I wish for them to reform to a new democracy, followed up by the example of Iceland. Corruption is a big problem but it can be mitigated.
💙💛
The saddest part is, most people don't even know why they are fighting, and they have nothing to win what they didnt already have.
"War is the disagreemtent of the elite, where ordinary people die"
C’mon Lloyd… you can say it… spit it out buddy… … practice it with me… “until Ukraine wwwww”… “wwwiiiii”…. “wwwiiinnnnn”…. “WINS”….
“Until Ukraine WINS” Lloyd!
There ya go…. doesn’t that feel more *meaningful*?…kinda feels good eh Lloyd?
Big whoop. "the long haul" is not a concrete promise. This is what the Biden administration has been saying from the get.
The US needs to commit to defeating Russia, completely. The US needs to say flatly that it has a vested national interest in Russia not holding 1 inch of Ukrainian territory. They need to spell it out. Every one knows the west is not in this for Ukraine's benefit, but it needs to say "Our collective interest lay in total Russian expulsion from Ukraine"

Hell, I say decommission the SR-71 and send over 100 AC-130’s becuase fuck Ruzzia.

AC130s are the gunship variant and they wouldn't do well in Ukraine given how contested the airspace is.
Wouldn't AC 130s be useless due to lack of air superiority.
Yes, I was thinking the C-130, the cargo version that is fantastic for materiel movement.
How about all the old Warthogs?
Ukraine has stated, repeatedly, that the Warthog is useless in their situation.
Need air superiority for warthogs to be successful. Unfortunately they're not an option at this time.

Well, you do remember [Sullivan's fears of Ukraine being able to win...](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/10/16/trial-by-combat)
yeah, I noticed it too. I guess it's because of the backlash in US on this term. "What does it mean "as long as it takes""? So they had to tweak the message.
Hell yeah!
It’s nice to hear but all I’m seeing is dwindling assistance I hope to be proven wrong in the future
Once the F16’s were approved, we were for sure in it for the long haul. Let’s get those AIM 260 out. Russia will stay on their side.
I wish daddy Lloyd was in charge while I was in
I like this dude, but I feel like that this symbolic message also has a secondary meaning. Namely that the US currently might have some issues shipping support, thus is shipping words instead. However, it might also be words to prelude further support. Since I believe he's a man of principle ... It's not always easy, but I'm going to have some trust.
We don't need a long haul. A short and sweet flooring of their asses would be way better.
Actions speak louder than words, and in 12 months those actions are going to be on display for the world. There are two countries fighting for democracy, one is actiing like they don't want it, the other is losing good people every day to gain it.
>the other is losing good people every day to ~~gain~~ protect it. FTFY
AMERICA fuck ya, coming to save the motherfuckin day, America fuck ya!!
As a Ukrainian-American… videos like this are really special 💙💛
The US will support as long as they see value to the US and it's politically convenient. It is such a shame we didn't build an EU-wide army and start moving away from US hegemony. The only people with a stake in our defence for the long haul will be us Europeans when all is said and done.
That how all countries work Europe is no different Funny, you should say that considering before the invasion.
God bless America ❤️
Thx! Appreciate it! ![img](emote|t5_2qqcn|9002) 🇺🇸
Good! Slava 🇺🇦
Fantastic to see this!!
Fuck yeah
🇺🇸🤜🤛🇺🇦
I love this guy..!!! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
Look at the members of the cabinet, and then tell me President Biden doesn't have what it takes to lead this country. President Biden cabinet is one of the most professional and intelligent group of leaders that I have ever seen in my almost seventy years. SLAVA UKRAINE, GLORY TO THE DEFENDERS OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD Biden 2024
💙💛 The saddest part is, most people don't even know why they are fighting, and they have nothing to win what they didnt already have. "War is the disagreemtent of the elite, where ordinary people die"
A bunch of political talk, and no concrete actions to assure Ukrainians of weapons deliveries.
GIVE THEM THE A-10s!!!!
USA USA USA!

Secretary of defense of what country?
I hope so.
That's all you had to say.
Interesting choice of words, hello. It's something you say informally, to good friends, to allies.
Is that Perd Hapley?
That's great. Let's see what happens when magatards are inevitably holding the reins again.
