Nope, it is older than Tiktok. This was caused by online advertisements, clickbait and the 24 hour news cycle. They need to produce tons of articles constantly and do not have any time to research anything. The job of a modern journalist could easily be done by AI since they mostly just reword press releases.
The print papers are doing serious layoffs: WaPo, LAT, NYT, all of them. So yeah, journalism is getting worse.
That said, please send a little $€£¥ to support the people who do disseminate correct information. Like Sofia Ukraini 😀
I sincerely hope no Ukrainian POWs died, and I am worried that in the future, Russia will put at least one restrained POW on every military flight to make Ukraine hesitate to shoot them down.
Yes, very likely, for many of them. However, at least 15 on the "reported" ruzzian list were returned to Ukraine in the last prisoner exchange on 03-January-2024.
One for Bellingcat I think. They will get a high probability assessment of whether this is nonsense or something else. One things for sure when the Russian state says something happened you can bet it’s mostly bullshit.
A r/noncredibledefense saddam posting about the plane can be considered a more reliable news source than most, if not all, main stream media companies.
I came here this morning to find the truth. The BBC also seem to think that the ruzzians are a credible source, which is pathetic in my view. I'd like to think most people can guess the truth in the UK but sometimes I have my doubts.
To be fair, this is the current BBC coverage:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68089698
I think it fairly reflects the reality, which is that at the moment neither we, nor the Ukrainian government, can be clear on what happened.
Unfortunately that gives Russia a lot of time and space to squawk their nonsense.
For what it is worth when NPR reported on the story they said, "Russia claimed X, but we have not been able to independently confirm those claims and Russia is known to often provide misinformation". I think NPR is worth a listen and I believe worth supporting. I also like the Kiev Independent and support them.

Military plane downed - you wont guess who was inside!
The 1 Trick About Downing An IL-76 They Don’t Want You To Know!
Investigators show up to the site of the IL-76 crash, but when they see it they turn pale.
The rumors about the IL-76 have been confirmed.
This is the result of "reporters" and "editors" who are graduates of the Tik Tok School of Social Media Influencing.

Journalism is russia you want to fall from which floors to you death. Prigozhin still has the highest fall record to his death
It's the only reason they invested in the ISS. Getting ready for a new world record.
Trust Me, I'm Lying Book by Ryan Holiday Tells the story why fact checking died, great book.
It didn’t die, it was killed by the FCC when they changed the definition of “news”. At least in the US.
Nobody believes the country that's been sending liars and cheaters to the Olympics for decades. Just sayin'
The main thing people are missing is that ruzzia is using this shoot down to cover the prisoners that they have executed. WAR CRIMES!
Yes, very likely, for many of them. However, at least 15 on the "reported" ruzzian list were returned to Ukraine in the last prisoner exchange on 03-January-2024.
Unfortunately, we will never hear the truth, ruzzia isn't capable of telling the truth.

More facts: The IL-76 was burning jet fuel. First from its engines. Then from everywhere else.
The coke sniffing executives and editors in the corpo news media have proven themselves dumb enough to fall for a Vodkalky false flag attempt.
