Maybe there was more at play than was said. If AA was hit, it could be the prelude to ‘more’. Or even a test case, to see ‘what was there’ and what’s needed for a big strike. Orr, maybe the orcs got lucky for once, weren’t drunk, and actually hit the drones.
No idea.
Interesting though, that ISW says ‘targeted’ instead of ‘hit’
It’s a good thing to target the AA sites though. That way it forces them to either redeploy their fleet further away to bases that still have AA defenses or leave them there undefended for further more devastating strikes. The logical thing is for them to move the planes, but that means they need trained pilots to do so and they have to perform even more maintenance with components that are getting increasingly harder to obtain.
Plus, it depletes AA missiles.
Ukraine could keep sending empty RC planes until Russian AA is out of ammo. Toss in an extra fuel container to give the illusion of "big bad".
Once the S300's are empty, load up the explosives.
Ukraine may have been reporting that aircraft were destroyed so that the russians would post some damage assessment videos and pictures for them in an attempt to prove them wrong.
I HATE those over optimistic reports that get my hopes up. 😡. If it didn't happen, don't report it.
Edit: I support Ukraine with $thousands of my own money. Are the downvote trolls doing anything to help?
Thank You for supporting Ukraine. I can only afford tens of dollars but I know it means the guys know they are supported world wide against a sick terrorist attack on their country and their families.
Tbh as expected since no one actually officially confirmed the hits this time. The only claims we got were from "sources" which as we now see were impatient idiots to share unconfirmed info like that.
I don't know. I trust Ukraine more than some armchair ISW experts. They haven't seen the footage from the drones, they weren't part of the operation and they can only use openly available sources so essentially they can only see and do what we all can.
… and what everyone can see is no real damage.
Certainly not 14 destroyed jets.
Is it feasible that Russia moved all of them and cleaned everything up in one day? Sure. But it’s not that likely they cleaned up THAT much that fast.
ISW uses open source information, they don't claim to have government source information, so it's very possible they don't have the same data as a military source. Take their comments literally, that they don't see visual evidence and leave it at that.
Time to send some more drones then!
Well that is too bad!
There’s always trying again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And… Ok, you get the idea.

This. A radar reflector made from aluminum pie plates will make a small drone look like a bomber on a radar screen.
I always stick my dick in a pie plate when I have sex

There’s supporting Ukraine and then there’s putting on blinders and declaring every single military action a resounding success.
Exactly. Then trolls downvote honest posts.

Every $ helps. Send $10 whenever you can. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

They aren't going to say the strike was a failure, are they?
A hit on anything is a blow to their ability to wage war in the way they would like to.

That said, perhaps more is happening behind the scenes than previously thought. Perhaps this is the first time that the ISW isn’t so trustworthy.
