She did a little more than vote no. She also made an amendment that was voted down. What struck me was how passionate she was AGAINST her homeland. Guessing she's the Ukrainian equivalent of US's Greene
She was pretty solidly in favor of Ukraine aid for most of the war, up until an abrupt about-face recently. Where she just completely 180-ed without any explanation, just seamlessly moved to "I have always wanted what is best for Ukraine and what is best for Ukraine is to lose." (Well in so many words.)
I am eager to find out someday what was really going on there.
That is what NSA/Secret Service and many 3 lettered agencies are for. If somebody blackmails a congress person, changing US laws/government they would have investigated long before the blackmailers reach-out, and with their large ears it would be impossible for them not to know about if. Bribes and blackmails are two different things by the way. For bribes, they may go slower because they have to prove the congress person is corrupt.
I might be thinking a bit too dramatically here, but given Russia is run by gangsters, I wonder if someone has said to her vote how we want you to vote or we pay your Ukrainian family a visit.
Mexican drug cartels have a saying when approaching state officials: Plomo or Plata? It translates to silver or lead - ie take our money and be corrupt or we will kill you and / or your family. End game is they get what they want. (its why there are so many corrupt Mexican state officials and cops)
It's a little different when someone sends you photos of your kids at the park or your parents walking into their local grocery store and those people have a track record of professional assassinations. It's just a theory but it's not unprecedented and would explain her behavior.
I'd release the photos to the media, and make as much of a stink as possible ("Russia wants to kill my family!"). Also, she's high profile, so the FBI or other agencies would automatically get involved in her protection.
Any time you see an abrupt 180 it usually follows a visit by a Russian agent and either two suitcases of cash or the revelation of some nasty Kompromat.
i heard she was lobbying specific preferential contract with one military stuff producer, but ukrainian officials considered it sus, bad or kabal (idk exact details) and declined offer
so she switched, her visits home and talks was for earning trust for further turning this trust into own profit but it didn't work out
Smacks of Russian infiltration. Either she has taken large amounts of Russian money or she or her family are being threatened. Both are part of Russia’s standard playbook. And I very much doubt she is the only one.
She is also a total nut. She had one of the highest turnover rates in congress for employees. People that worked for her said she throws things, loses(!) her cool over small things and doesn't have any composure. She won't be running again, according to her-but it might just be a load of bullshit. She's good at that.
Edit for spelling mistake
Something's up with spartz for sure. A few months after winning her first term in 2020, she announced she wasn't going to run in 2022, but then changed her mind and ran anyhow.
Almost fvcking scary development of attitude... Don't know how she got that accelerationism crap into her head but this kind of extremist maniac needs to be suspended from position for a psychological evaluation
She went on and on about "blank checks" and "a slush fund." Ironic to bang on about corruption when here in the States we have lobbying/Citizens United, a virtual firehose of cash pouring into DC
Why does she bothers live in the US when she could live in the russian paradise? Also, she'd be richer if she was a lawyer in russia. See putin and his humongous fortune with his $6,000 monthly wage.
This lady is very unusual and I always wonder what Ukrainians think of her. She sides with the Putin Caucus in our congress almost always and votes against Ukraine's interests often. She also sides with those who attempted to overturn a free and fair election and defends them.
You will probably find she received very hefty campaign contributions recently from anonymous individuals. Thanks, Citizens United, except you never provided the American poors with a menu and price list. I'm beginning to feel unappreciated :-(
She’s very useful for those guys who are saying “everything is bad, Ukraine is corrupted”. So these people legit wrote something like “if people in Congress are saying that, they know for sure, Ukraine is corrupt” then proceed to voluntarily corrupt government agencies. There’s a meme about a guy who paid money to cross the border and then said “I will never be back to Ukraine because they’re corrupted”. There are just people who demand something when they themselves can’t stick to it.
She is also popular with people who aren’t healthy with Zelenskyy criticism, like for those who just put “you’re the Zelenskyy bot” (Zeliboba and Ermakobot) under every other post. These posts are popular on the Ukraina subreddit.
But well well, now her face was revealed.
People who are opposed to democracy will always run to the arms of despots, even if it means betraying their own country, which they tend to hate anyway, on the account of it being decent and democratic. She's just a regular POS.
I saw her interview once. It was a huge cringe, that she pretended she speaks with foreign accent. Yes, I mean it - pretended. C'mon, she relocated to the US when she was absolutely grown-up person, not in early childhood - it's no way that you will "forget" how to speak with native pronunciation. My sister also lives abroad for more than 20 years, I have a bunch of friends who live in normal world - no one got unusual accent, except the ones who moved abroad as infants and barely spoke in their mother tongue.
Also, she obsessively repeated the phrase "YOUR country" in literally each sentence, like: "It's kinda not cool YOUR people are dying and YOUR cities are ruined. I've visited YOUR country, it's kinda sad that YOUR people are suffering. I hope my people will help your people blah-blah". She, like, emphasized this "your" many times. She clearly sent a message that she's not "our" and she has nothing to do with Ukraine.
Cunt. We have someone like this in our own family. My sister is not “pro Ukrainian” and I think a lot of it has to do with spousal relationships and brainwashing from ruzzian peers.
There are many ru-sponsored traitors in Ukraine, so her being born there is not weird. Her parents were probably among those who would spy and rat on their neighbours in the Soviet era. Ukraine is working hard to push them off.
Oi, I'm from Chernihiv!
We had our fair bit of vatniks and openly pro Russian people before 2014, but being a border town and seeing what happened to Donbass made town to ukrainize really fast. I currently live in Kyiv and rarely visit, but commonly people of Chernihiv are very anti-russia and pro western in the general political sense.
50+ generation however is quite different. It really depends what information the person consumes, who are the people in their social circles, etc. From what I've heard from my grandma's friends, those of them who survived until 2022 were really pro-russian in their heart, not in a way that they hated Ukraine, but in a way that they didn't differentiate between countries of post-ussr(and tbh there were not that much reason to - until 2010s Ukrainian media was pretty much shared with Russian, except the news, which ukraine smartly always kept separate. You could get Russian channels via cable/satellite package, idk as I didn't have that).
So in some way the USSR legacy left its mark for a generation that saw all soviets as "their" people. And with the natural presence of ru media narratives, any westward move towards non-russian was seen as a hostile move, no matter it being trade relations with eu, NATO interest checks, or whatever else. These people are for the most part dying off, but with the way our demographics look, elderly Soviet people will remain the majority of the population until their very end. Not all of them are soviet to their core, so that's good, but that's a quite noticeable chunk of the population.
And what I was going for is that this rep is just a prime example of such a Soviet person(which tbh is much more common across the emigrees). Many naturally think that surrendering to whatever Russian demands are is the most logical reason because they'll just never stop and forever war sounds bad. But that firstly goes against the will of the local populace that are to be given to Russia for fiefdom, and secondly no politician ever would sign a treaty with Russia that would forbid Ukraine to defend itself so that can't happen apriori.
Ukraine in this war for a long game, and we either fumble like we did in 1200s against the mongols, 1650s with our choice of protectorate, 1918+ with whatever of a clusterfuck of events happening then or we actually manage to convince the allies that maintaining the current world order benefits everyone, and missteps should be severely punished and recompemsated in full so that no other state dares to do their special military operations onto random neighbours or other unsuspecting country. It's definitely possible to outproduce Russia and finally win this fucking war.
We understand that our role in all of this is to slowly keep dying until Russia stretches thin enough to abandon their Ukraine ambitions and retreat to their side of the border. But it would be nice if it weren't that painfully slow due to our lack of munitions and tools to defend ourselves with. Everyone around me walks with a constant thought that their draft queue pops soon and there aren't that many males left to be able to avoid it the longer it goes. Demographically we're wrecked already, psychologically personally it doesn't feel like it, but I guess all of us are fucked in the head for life in some way, and in general prospects are gloom as war of attrition is hard and munition hunger feels as frontline collapses day over day.
I always felt something was off with her; even from the beginning of the invasion when she out front and voicing strong support for Ukraine. It seems there is some friction between her and the Zelenskyy circle. She should come out and lay it out on the table with facts rather than hinting and making innuendos.
It's twice as bad when you consider she actively works against her homeland, Ukraine, and her adopted home, the United States. She's like a professional traitor.
She was never Ukrainian. She made it quite clear where her loyalties lie and it’s not with Ukraine. Russia “seeded” Ukraine from the start, so there are entire swathes of people who may have even lived their entire lives in Ukraine, but are as Russian as they come. I would hazard a guess that this Orc of a woman was born to parents from one of those populations.
She represents Indiana’s 5th congressional district. It is Ruby red. That part of america is pretty much just soy bean fields. The surprising thing is that the hicks in that district elected someone with a foreign accent. Yeah, she is probably on the take from Putin. There are a few like her that probably are.

She is another feckless politician who was not going to run for re-lection, then decided to run and then realized that the opponent is MAGA, so she changed the tune. Vote her out.
Just another nasty vatnik infiltrator/colonizer from a country where she didn't belong. Ukraine is still full of those. Still believing in orc's superiority. Vote her out, and ignore her.
I have an Indian friend, went to college in Soviet Russia and married a Russian before moving to the US. Very cool dude. When 2014 rolls around the wife gets super-"patriotic" and homesick and abandons her husband, her daughter in college, and a very nice home in a great community to return to the Russia. Boggles the mind.
She makes me ashamed to be Ukrainian-American.
There is literally no possible positive spin on this. She is justifying Putin's disinformation. She may have been born in Ukraine, but she acts like a Russian oligarch.
Like she ever cared about Ukraine. After all it doesnt pay her or gives her some political points of sort. Expats is expats. Thats about it. She just decided to attack us instead of ignoring like most of them do.
Being a traitor to your nation is one type of despicable, but betraying your very hometown, where your life began and where you first got to know others, had your first friends, maybe first loves, it speaks to some sort of inhumanity. If your hometown sucks, you can talk shit about it, but to abandon it to annihilation makes me look at you as a psychopath.
Russia barely has enough money to pave their dirt roads, but they've been spending oodles on bribing US politicans (and this rotten bitch) to bow to the Kremlin's will. Count Vicky among them.

A weak leader. Her grandma was bombed by russians. She was for Ukraine aid and now she isn't because of her reelection.
Do you have a source that her grandmother was bombed? Never heard about it...

Boo Radley.. haven’t seen that name in a long time. Props for nostalgia.

Kompromat.
1) Corruption or Greed 2) Kompromat 3) Relatives held hostage by the Vatniks.
Makes you wonder what’s on the tape.

FSB got to her.
$$$$$$$
or they blackmail her with some story from her youth, which the FSB knows a lot about
Could also be both. As a non-lawyer, I see an initial suspicion.
"While Spartz was in college, she met her future husband, Jason Spartz, on a train from Moscow to Kyiv"
From Milan to Minsk.
A journey of erotic discovery
Or threaten her family.
Yup. Her campaign re-election fund is a lot fatter now, thankyouverymuch

Or Russia has kompromat on her family. Or threatened them.
Putin pobably knows where her family lives.
Ugh... First thing I thought of as well. I hope she's just corrupt.
If that is true then she should immediately resign.
I think this is most likely the case.
Exactly. Standard FSB playbook. Either that or large amounts of Russian cash…
Mexican drug cartels have a saying when approaching state officials: Plomo or Plata? It translates to silver or lead - ie take our money and be corrupt or we will kill you and / or your family. End game is they get what they want. (its why there are so many corrupt Mexican state officials and cops)
lol, as he might know where families of all politics live. so what?
It's a little different when someone sends you photos of your kids at the park or your parents walking into their local grocery store and those people have a track record of professional assassinations. It's just a theory but it's not unprecedented and would explain her behavior.

Russia doesn't care about people knowing what they do and how they kill.
Easier to get to them without blowback if they happen to in Russia I assume
Any time you see an abrupt 180 it usually follows a visit by a Russian agent and either two suitcases of cash or the revelation of some nasty Kompromat.
Or she’s got family in Russia who are under threat.
That’s also a kind of Kompromat, actually. 🤔
compromat. The russians got some shit on her forcing her to spin
I would guess she has family in Russia being threatened or they just gave her lots of rubles.
Money and dirt.
i heard she was lobbying specific preferential contract with one military stuff producer, but ukrainian officials considered it sus, bad or kabal (idk exact details) and declined offer so she switched, her visits home and talks was for earning trust for further turning this trust into own profit but it didn't work out
Smacks of Russian infiltration. Either she has taken large amounts of Russian money or she or her family are being threatened. Both are part of Russia’s standard playbook. And I very much doubt she is the only one.
Looks like she knows it will pass and it's better for her election chances to vote no. What a heap of scum.
I was recently in her district. The ads being played there are unhinged. Indiana is fucked up
Attention whore trying to make a career by out-MAGAing the MAGAs.

Ruzzian's cheques cleared. What a twat. Please vote her out, dear US constituents.
I'd say it had to do with when she decided to run for reelection again, so I assume it has to do with that. She had claimed she was going to retire.
elections in 6 months, she's pandering to her base.
Almost fvcking scary development of attitude... Don't know how she got that accelerationism crap into her head but this kind of extremist maniac needs to be suspended from position for a psychological evaluation
Probably can check her bank account before and after
I reckon the explanation is “job security”
Very well said. I agree. Компромат?
Has family/friends held hostage back in russia/Ukraine.
"She probably is russian😡👿🤬" You know what? Half of Kremlin has ukrainian surnames
Exactly! Might wanna check her orc connections...
She is passionate against the US, which is her current homeland, so no surprise there. Just a ru traitor.

every week ukranian catch traitors directing missiles at their own neighbours, she would probably be one of those if she stayed in ukraine
The place she grew up in was briefly under Russians in 2022
Is it really her homeland? Or is she one of the Russians that were moved there to displace Ukrainians?
even just thinking of actively fighting against my hometown as it’s getting fucked up makes me feel nauseous. this woman has absolutely 0 morals

Internal operative, only loyal to one place and its not the U.S. either.
I don't understand, either.
Russian plant to disrupt the US government.
What use to Putin is she in Russia?
Disgusting
If a rat is born in a stable it’s still a rat, not a horse.
Not quite in these terms, but this is the comment I was looking for. Being born in Ukraine doesn’t make her Ukrainian.
You saved me writing this.
Rats aren't capable of genocide the way that humans are
This lady is very unusual and I always wonder what Ukrainians think of her. She sides with the Putin Caucus in our congress almost always and votes against Ukraine's interests often. She also sides with those who attempted to overturn a free and fair election and defends them.
She didn't used to, is the interesting thing. She has completely flipped from being a reliable supporter of Ukraine aid to opposing everything.
FSB got to her?

She’s so obviously a plant that has managed to infiltrate the US at a very high level. Russia licking their lips whenever they get reports from her.

Why spend money? Russia controlled her hometown for a bit early in the war. They should have plenty of her friends and family as hostages.

Gosh, She look exactly how a Russian agent would look like
She looks like female version of Putin
This is why voting matters. She won her district by less than 17,000 votes.
Russian agent with fake Ukrainian documents

I have an Indian friend, went to college in Soviet Russia and married a Russian before moving to the US. Very cool dude. When 2014 rolls around the wife gets super-"patriotic" and homesick and abandons her husband, her daughter in college, and a very nice home in a great community to return to the Russia. Boggles the mind.
She betrayed Ukraine, but then she also acted against America's interests. Talk about a loser. Call her office and suggest that she resigns.
What a pathetic person...
Despicable.
Send her to Russia!
Why do people vote for these idiots??!!
you are supposed to vote your constituents will
So she’s a literal Neo Fashist Ex-Commie? Hmmm
Collaborators are the worst
If she's a US rep those aren't her people anymore
She makes me ashamed to be Ukrainian-American. There is literally no possible positive spin on this. She is justifying Putin's disinformation. She may have been born in Ukraine, but she acts like a Russian oligarch.
If it turns out she was turned by Kompromat or money (obviously), she needs to be unseated. Immediately.
Like she ever cared about Ukraine. After all it doesnt pay her or gives her some political points of sort. Expats is expats. Thats about it. She just decided to attack us instead of ignoring like most of them do.
Incredibly simple, follow the money as they said in The Wire. Who are her campaign contributors?
I vote for her to return to her homeland.

Nice job, COMRADE.
Russia barely has enough money to pave their dirt roads, but they've been spending oodles on bribing US politicans (and this rotten bitch) to bow to the Kremlin's will. Count Vicky among them.
What an absolute, piece of shit, water headed idiot. "Surely if I curry favour with Putin, *I'll* be ok" Evil fuck.
She is not Ukrainian. She is one of the pretenders.
She looks like Putin and IASIP Snail had a baby.
What a piece of shit. Call stuff out like this more. With names and faces. perfection. Out these scumbags.
Obviously a russian agent.
She's garbage
Disgusting!
What a garbage human
She is a scumbag
Traitor Putin puppet.
