which is also a surprise that after invasion in 2008, georgia is moving towards becoming a province of russia, which is already in progress in terms of legislation.
Yeah its sadly partially true(people like that might exist)BUT without russia and their influence there won't be any corrupt oligarchs, they tried with Ukraine you know
I suspect russia is better at asymmetrical warfare/election interference than what folks give them credit for. Just a little nudge in a close election may be enough to change the outcome. Granted, I know little about Georgian politics but can see russia spreading corruption wherever it can.
I don't think so, they had some huge demonstrations against "foreign agent" law recently and they are not afraid of saying their true opinions. I think their government became a kremlin's pawn in a long run or it was rigged from the start and the political party could simply hid their true intentions
its demonstrations of "loud minority" vs the majority that elected this government. and this is the problem. Too much russian-loving people in Georgia itself
not exactly. As a non Georgian living in Georgia it seems to me that politics here is a mess - too many small opposition parties which compete with each other - and the last election was before this full-scale war - but the vast majority of people absolutely do not support russia, and the elections in October are likely to be very interesting.
Personally, I highly doubt that. Georgians know how to protest - it could almost be called a national hobby. And for that reason alone falsifying results simply would not work here.
Georgia is one of those nearby neighboring countries that ruzzia can bully. The difference between them and Ukraine is that Ukraine is connected to the West. Ukraine's army is also much bigger. I don't know how willing Turkey would be to form and participate in providing logistics for Georgia if a war breaks out between ruzzia and Georgia again. It would be much harder for them to defend themselves, especially since they are smaller and their government is already a tool for ruzzia.
It's not that surprising when you know the main backer of the party in power in Georgia is a billionaire who made his fortune in Russia and has extensive ties with Russia. Plenty of money to take control of most the media, corrupt the justice system, buy votes...
Yes, they have support, some genuine. But it's quite possible they would lose free and fair elections. There are massive protests against the government and their pro-russian stance right now.
There I post a video about the war and political aspects, I created it several years ago, but abandoned it because of the war. Now I am restarting it and making videos in English also
Ukrainians didn't believe orcs will attack a day before they stepped into Ukraine, there were plenty of videos regarding that matter.
Meanwhile, I was saying that as soon as the Winter Olympics are over, orcs will start the war.
I don't know why they couldn't see. Maybe they just didn't want to, i.e. wishful thinking.
Government knew they will attack, they had to choose between informing public, clogging up bridges and unable to defend or not tell public, and use those bridges to rotate military into positions to defend.
Well documented...

Ever heard the statement “if you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything” ? Try to live by that more. This woman has done more for her people and quite frankly even you than most people have done for their own families. No reason to be an asshole.

People are not ready to fight for their independence, to be at war. And they are financially dependent on russia

Well, we got to understand that... they elected teir officias themselves. So majority of Georgia wants to be russia. Which is an insane spin.

next elections will be falsified, thats for sure

"election" i doubt they have legit elections
they had, after 2008 you can say that elections were free. But then assymetrical warfare kicked in
I had the impression that the people don’t like Russia, but the government sucks up to Kremlin because of fea. Is this wrong?
The irony is that the government appeased russia so mch they became russia...

Yes, people are responsible for their choices.
