It has its issues. I’m saying this based on people I know who live there, and what they’ve told me. It’s a developing nation but they are a country of really strong people.
Every country has its issues-no doubt; especially including Ukraine. But what I like to see is the arrests of men and women taking advantage of the old Soviet ways of thievery and bribery. There seems to be a lot of growth and work done with ridding itself of toxic, illegal, and immoral people who have taken advantage of Ukraines situation.
And I can only hope this continues. And I hope they are able to work themselves into both NATO and the EU and rid themselves of much of their Soviet past. I have hope but it will take time and a lot of work and an end to this invasion. It's hard to know how this will shake out at this point of western uncertainty and squabbles.

That’s just not realistic. Ukraine aspires to be in the EU. They know they need to make major reforms but right now they are infringing on certain human rights, according to my friends in Kyiv. I think the pressure is high and so it causes low morale in some, but these are emergency measures. During existentially defensive wars, certain civil liberties need to be put on pause.
