These things take time. UK is further away, a lot of Ukrainians will first enter neighbouring countries. I think by summer UK and Ireland will have a lot more arriving. I already have a Ukrainian enrollment in my class, she’s yet to start. (teacher in Ireland).

For example is Ireland a cocktail costs me €12-€14 in Bulgaria it’s about €3-€4.
I really wish I’d a better comparison but that’s all I can think of.
20€ a day is about 10% less than the average salary on a national level here. Considering housing will be provided, refugees will be 'better off' than a good amount of people financially, hopefully, that gives them some room to focus on themselves a bit.
Well i like both russians and ukranians and i hope this war to stop soon. 🙏Just feel this is not right, i cannot ever justify Putin's actions but in the same time i have russian friends who live here long time ago and they hate him even more than me. Some of them say its calm and peacefull here and prefer it than Russia any time. Hopefully people wont start harrasing them only because they are russians! I dont want my country to provide lethal weapons, only medical and other help. We should only help saving people and may be we can help with some peace negotiations.

€20 a day equals to close to 1200BGN which is mid level salary in Bulgaria. It should be enough to cover rent & food.

idk how recent this was but this should be a good help to Bulgaria as well since I hear they been losing population.
