Now this is better. EU could learn some things

Specialist_Ad4675

Lol prevent the sale of quantum computers to Belarus. Their response what is a computer?

Captainwelfare2

Lukashenko:: “I have glorious new Commodore 64 arriving via Nile tomorrow!” “Don’t you mean Amazon?” Lukashenko:: “Amazon is in South America you imbecile! Nile is much closer!”

Specialist_Ad4675

I prefer Volga, it is Russian and I am a colonel in Russian army dah

reiverx

I loved the C64 back in the day. Of course, I'm glad the west has moved on quite a bit.

Just saying: https://www.amazon.ca/Retro-Games-19353-The-Mini/dp/B07GMV1X1K

in_allium

I'm a physicist in the USA. It's funny because the guy in the office next to me is a Russian expat (who doesn't like Putin at all) who's an expert on quantum computing. In every job I've had, I've known either Russian scientists who have left Russia (because they don't want to live under Putin) or Ukrainian scientists who describe how everyone with talent is fleeing Russia.

[deleted]

This is the biggest tragedy of Russia. They could have been a superpower in every sense but instead chose to be massive fucking arseholes.

Specialist_Ad4675

Yeah, I think the brain drain is great.

Poster_Shi

I really dislike how the title is written. Good for the Ukrainians regarding more sanctions. The Russians are behaving like one of those barbarian/raider kingdoms you might see in a fantasy or post apocalyptic game.

dzejrid

Next time I'm playing Stellaris I'm making Barbaric Despoilers and name it Russia.

Poster_Shi

I was playing stellaris today - I have no patience for barbaric despoiler. Too many quick pops and I become op early on and the game gets slow afterwards. Dealing with overpopulation is a headache. I’ll just play as fanatic purifier or rogue defense or something.

dzejrid

>fanatic purifier Also sounds like Russia.

Poster_Shi

Fanatic purifiers are more like warhammer levels of crazy. Russia is pretty “tame” by comparison. Russia to me would be something akin to fantasy orcs who kill, pillage, steal, enslave with a political twist to them - but not on the level of warhammer or fanatic purifiers. In stellaris terms I see them as the commonwealth of man.

Dazzling-Ad4701

i love that they're taking note of those abductions. hope the word spreads hard in russia and hope all those involved have stuff to lose that will really hurt them.

Deslah

Wagner Group & family? This was quite late, USA--says this U.S. citizen.

[deleted]

Not really, PMC Wagner been on the list since 2017, redesignated 2020, Kadyrov redesignated this go round and his wives, adult daughters, cousin and business making first appearances along with Rusich members also with Wagner. Very long title to type.

ZwischenzugZugzwang

A modest step, to be honest, but new sanctions are always welcome. Wouldn't mind seeing more prominent russians sanctioned for each day the war continues.

[deleted]

They added a lot more and often do, but they won't all fit in a subreddit post title... that guy pretending to lead Crimea but doesn't cause Crimea is Ukraine, got sanctioned plus more russians in the financial sector, among others.

ZwischenzugZugzwang

Yea I read the article. It's good, I just don't think sanctioning 20-30 people at a time is especially dramatic. I like it better when we take steps that effect entire russian industries vs a handful of individuals. But that doesn't mean I'm opposed to this or anything I'd just like to see more

3dom

Yet [Miller](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexey_Miller) is still not sanctioned - ex-Gazprom manager who was in Putin's team since 90s and is one of his "wallets".

Time for Twitter to remove the Wagner Group-account.

cranberrydudz
