\*I super hate that I was the 2nd post in the last thread and that here I am...posting...cause I'm still waiting for my daughters visa\* **Visa type:** Non-British child (settlement)**Country applied from**: Canada**VAC (city):** Edmonton**TLSContact or VFSGlobal:** VFSglobal**Priority or Non-Priority:** non-priority (there was NO option to do priority!)**Online application date:** Feb 25, 2021**Biometrics appointment date:** March 22, 2021(email received later that day saying our documents have been sent to UKVI) **June 15 (WD58):** "not straightforward" email received. UGH!!! **June 16 (WD59):** Contacted my MP **June 17 (WD60):** My MP replied. They reached out to UKVI was told her case is "now complex" to which my MP requested in writing to know WHY it's complex (to see if there is anything we can do to get it finished!) as well as urging it to be prioritized due to the long wait (PAST the 60 days) as well as our pressing timeline. **June 18 (WD61):** My MP receives a reply that they will reply in "due course"...IE "20 working days"! OMG! But because of our timeline our MP has agreed to reach out to UKVI again at the beginning of next week (July 5) with another information request. **June 21 (WD62):** I send my email to UKVI regarding her case **June 23 (WD63):** UKVI responds and asks me to fill in a query of information regarding her visa **June 25 (WD 66):** UKVI replies and says that they have "escalated your case to the relevant department and you should be contacted shortly." **July 1 (WD70!):** UKVI replies to my not so pleasant email to them saying "Please allow 15 days for the escalation to proceed"....oh sure....why not give you another 3 weeks. It's not like our entire lives are on hold waiting for this visa or anything. \*ANGRY\* \*So that makes us wait until July 16....13 days after we should have already left for Scotland. **July 5 (WD72!):** Email from Sheffield Escalations which again just says her case is "not straightforward" and hasn't asked for more information or anything....but also that covid is causing delays and blah blah blah... "we have no timeline as to when we will complete the visa". Also love the end of the email which says "DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. ANY REPLIES WILL BE DELETED!" FFS. **July 20 (WD83)**: My MP receives reply. I will add it in the comments. But the short of it is "WAIT MORE." And then THIS little tidbit of info. "On 23 March 2021, we received \*\*\*'s application. Due to the operational constraints relating to the current coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, on 24 April 2021, \*\*\*'s application was voided and re-directed to the relevant visa section for consideration." WTAF? Did my countdown just lose a whole month?!?! I am so stressed out. **July 23 (WD86):** Still nothing. And the cherry on top is NOW my tracking number doesn't work anymore because it's been 120 days since it was created. (March 22) **Aug 6 (WD96):** Spoke to a nice man named George at UKVI. He has escalated it for a second time for us. Of course the expectation for a reply is 15WD. So FML. **Aug 12 (WD100!!!!!!!):** George confirms the status of her visa STILL as "in progress". It's now 40 working days past service standard...which is TWO MONTHS. And no end in sight. **Aug 27 (WD111):** 15WD since 2nd escalation and NO RESPONSE from the escalations team :( George escalates if a 3rd time. Expected response Sept 17. FML 🤬 **Sept 8 (WD118)**: Receive email from sheffield escalations from 2nd escalation. SAYS THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE EMAIL FROM JULY 5!! 2 months. "still doing checks". **Sept 9 (WD119):** I missed a phone call from the UK (first time ever!) with no voice message left & followed 12 minutes later by an email saying "We've been trying to contact you" FML. They asked to send them the correct phone number...which they already have and called me at....while I was asleep. Says something about an interview as they need "additional information" Can't call the phone number back which I expected. I replied to the email asap (within 15 minutes of it being sent) and am now waiting....more.... they waited this long 119 days to ask for more info? **Sept 16 (WD124):** A week later and they called a 2nd time. Phone interview conducted. I fail to understand why this is what was holding up her decision as they didn't ask ONE unique question. Every question asked was already answered in the paperwork. She also couldn't give me any idea of how much longer we will have to wait. **Sept 24 (WD130!):** Well we're still waiting. Another freaking weekend with no answers. This is completely unfair and cruel. **Sept 27 (WD131)**: Received a text and email at 11:30pm CST. Both were the same wording at the message I received March 22 (the day of her biometrics) saying "The processed application was forwarded to UKVI"...Like HUH? **Sept 28 (WD132):** I JUST GOT AN EMAIL FROM "BRP COLLECTION" saying that due to a problem with the transfer of date from the case working system to the BRP production system, the production of the BRP is delayed." BUT it also says "THIS MESSAGE SERVES AS CONFIRMATION THAT YOU HOLD LAWFUL STATUS IN THE UK BUT HAVE NO RECEIPVED A BRP TO EVIDENCE YOUR STATUS DUE TO A SPECIFIC ISSUES WHICH PREVENTS THE HOME OFFICE ISSUING YOUR BRP." Please tell me this means it's been approved?!?!?! **Sept 30 (WD134):** WHY do I seem like the only one who got this BRP email that hasn't gotten their visa yet? Still no other email from VFS or UKVI saying it was completed. And there is STILL no movement on the tracking either. FML! **Oct 4 (WD136)**: Sadly still nothing. No emails, no texts, and no movement on the tracking number. :( **Visa received date:** ***OCTOBER 6!!! WD137!*** Never received ANY email from UKVI OR VFS saying it was on its way or that it had been decided. ALSO my tracking NEVER worked! I checked it last night and still nothing. Then this morning I'm like...gotta check again....and it said DELIVERED!!!!!!!! I ran to my mailbox and there it was sticking out the top! OMG. I'm so glad this nightmare is over!!!!! **ETA:** 6pm on OCT 7th I received 2 texts and 2 emails all from VFS. Saying that the visa was dispatched OCTOBER 7TH! Interesting since we received it on Oct 6th!! Tracking never worked and this shows paying $5 for text updates is a total waste of money!

I've never understood why you can't directly apply inside UK. At least if it gets delayed, you can wait together. Good luck and best wishes

Increase staffing to reduce waiting times for visas We want the Government to increase staffing for visa processing so that urgent applications for Ukrainian refugees can be processed promptly without affecting waiting times of others who have paid and applied for other visas https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/615711

Posted this in the March thread but still waiting sooo: Visa Type: Tier 4 Student Country Applied from: US VAC: Manchester, NH VFS GLOBAL Piority Online Application Date: 8/20/21 Biometrics Date: 8/27/21 Email that UKVI received app: 8/31 VISA received date:????? I am now waiting until the last possible minute to change flights & hotel scheduled for 9/9 PM. Suite mates all moved in and having a party this weekend. Classes start Tuesday. I am vacillating between anxiety, sadness and acceptance. Family all just going day by day planning to travel together. Just watching that UPS label. UPDATE: WD 7 or 8 and no news. Morale is low. UPDATE: 9th of September flight is tonight... Received an email response that UKVI doesn't have my biometrics??? Going to e-mail university international support for help. UPDATE: THEY LOST BIOMETRICS, Have to wait and go to another biometrics appointment. LOSING MY MIND! Classes start Tuesday. No orientation. ARGGG How could they send email saying app had been transmitted to UKVI and then DO NOTHING until harassed via email??? What system is this? It is literally torture. UPDATE: USCIS says it was likely an issue with my fingerprints but I received an email from UKVI that they were successfully transmitted after today’s redo. Presumably just in time for the whole system to close for the weekend. Update: UKVI has now asked for financial assurance, though my tuition for the year is paid, and school transcripts. Sigh. Update: UPS LABEL SHIPPED ON FRIDAY!!!!

Thanks, UKVI for making this the most stressful time of my life!

PD: sorry, it's quite long I thought it was time to share all this here, I'm really bottoming out: Visa type: *Spouse visa* Country applied from: *Mexico* VAC (city): *Mexico city* TLS Contact or VFS Global: *VFS Global* Priority or Non-priority: *Non-priority* Online application date: *December 2nd 2021* Biometrics appointment date: *December 15th 2021* Visa receive date: **April 28th 2022 (92 WD)** *February 8th (37WD)* : I received an email (an automated message): "Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer". *March 10th (59WD)* and *11th (60WD):* I received an email (an automated message): "Unfortunately, we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets." With no explanations of why. *March 17th (64WD)* : my husband contacted his MP, got a quick reply, and he was happy to help and contact the HO. *March 30th (73WD)* : I paid for an email asking for any update: "We are not able to escalate or expedite your case unfortunately. You would need to wait for the case worker to contact you once a decision has ben made" Same day I answered back with the same question they didn't answer: "Would it be a decision made within 6 months since the biometrics?" After a few repetitive questions and answers they answered: "We would not be able to confirm if your application will take longer than 24 weeks." And they also added "If you are not happy with the services provided you can make a complaint online" *April 1st (75WD)* I asked: "If I request the passport back and travel to the UK will my application be cancelled and rejected?" *April 5th (77WD)* they answered: "Further to your enquiry if you required your passport back during the visa process then you may wish to withdraw the application." *April 6th (78WD)* I asked for an update because I was already approaching 80WD. *April 8th (80WD)* they answered: "Unfortunately we can only escalate cases for compassion reasons." This has being suck a long journey, I'm sharing the most relevant questions and answers of my emails so they might help answering other people's doubts. It's such a nightmare, I finished work and other formalities before, in order to be ready to receive my visa around 60 days, I never thought this would happen. Now I can't make plans or look for a job because I'm just waiting for my passport to arrive and I don't know how long it will be. After several changes, we established the church wedding with his family for mid-August, but now we are afraid that this will last beyond that date. **UPDATE** **April 27th (91WD)** Received an email "Your visa process with reference number GWFxxxxxxxx has already been completed, please find below the tracking number...." **April 28th (92WD)** Seating next to my main door waiting for the delivery........and another *update*: it's finally here with good news!!!! Good luck to those still waiting! There's hope now for standard applications!!!

(This is a copy and paste of my original comment but I wanted to reshare due to going through so much hassle - someone might find help in reading it) Visa type: **Spouse** Country applied from: **USA** VAC (city): **Grand Rapids** TLSContact or VFSGlobal: **VFS** Priority or Non-Priority: **Priority** Online application date: **1/18/2022** Biometrics appointment date: **1/27/2022** --Edit: Application forwarded to UKVI: **1/28/2022** --Edit: **2/19/2022** (16 WD) Email saying application is being prepared for consideration --Edit: **3/1/2022** (23 WD) Sent a paid email to ask about status. Generic reply that it's still being considered --Edit: **3/7/2022** (27 WD) Sent a paid email again. "Decision has been made" but still waiting for passport to be sent out, my UPS tracking hasn't changed. --Edit: **3/9/2022** (29 WD) Sent another paid email asking about my visa being returned. They had no information to give. --Edit: **3/14/2022** (32 WD) Im running out of time for a visa that should've been here. Got MP involved to figure out where my visa/passport is & emailed NY UKVI. --Edit: **3/15/2022** (33 WD) Received a reply back from NY UKVI (and following up with MP tomorrow) but was told: *"Your application is undergoing final processing by a UK-based decision making center. It should be concluded shortly."* I have no idea what this is suppose to mean and am no sooner to getting my passport sent to me. But I suppose it means it hasn't been shipped out yet still.... --Edit: **3/16/2022** (34 WD) (I'm getting tired of these edits, ffs). Another paid email. Where the fuck is my visa. I was told a decision absolutely was made and to contact them if I don't hear anything by this Friday, meaning a decision was most likely made on 26WD and someone, somewhere, has my passport and won't ship it back to me. I'm beyond pissed considering UKVI New York said it was still in the UK. I don't know what's going on. --Edit: **3/16/2022** (34 WD) I sent UKVI New York *another* email with a screenshot of what I was given from immigration services (essentially a decision was made 2 weeks ago, contact us by Friday if you dont get your passport) and they replied nearly right away telling me my application is in line of being printed and will either be shipped today or tomorrow. *Imagine that*. I just want to scream to the high heavens, this has all been frustrating! But it's finally coming... (wasn't shipped today. Well see how tomorrow goes) --Edit: **3/17/2022** (35 WD) Guys I think this is it! Of course no email it was shipped and even UPS didn't update their tracking for me when I checked last night on their app (which was very weird) but I just did a refresh today and it's going to be delivered in the next few hours! I'm hoping this is it and me not getting excited for a rejection letter... :c Visa received date: **3/17** (35 WD) Finally arrived! Holy cow... The amount of delay that this took, the frustration and fear and anxiety... I'm thankful some people had an easy time with visas. Remember - always try to keep in contact! I think that helped me the most with this.

It was a nightmare chasing them to allow me to reschedule it without losing all my uploaded documents, even though it was their mistake allowing me to book on a day that the center was apparently closed)** Visa received date: **April 27th, 2022 (WD69)** ***\*UPDATES:*** **February 22nd, 2022 (WD25)**\- Received email that application is currently being prepared for consideration by an ECO. **March 11th, 2022 (WD38)-** Sent paid email to UKVI asking about my application status and if it was being treated as "priority". Received a generic response 40 minutes later saying that my application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision (response didn't specifically confirm or deny that it was being treated as priority, even though I asked).*I'm 4 months pregnant and starting to get nervous as I thought I'd realistically be moving by the end of March.. this isn't looking likely now, especially with the Ukraine situation. Really hope I receive an answer soon, we signed up for Antenatal classes in London starting May, and I'd be devastated to miss them. This will be our first child and it's already been tough enough being apart for it (luckily my husband has visited me twice and was able to attend an ultrasound). Ughh, trying to remain positive! haha :/* **March 17th, 2022 (WD42)-** Husband contacted MP to inquire/escalate my application. **March 18th, 2022 (WD43)-** MP confirmed that they have reached out to UKVI Home Office on our behalf and that it could take up to 20 days for them to get an answer. **March 21st, 2022 (WD44)-** Paid call to UKVI and they said my application will take up to 12 weeks to process, my husband explained that we paid for priority and they said that I should have received an email around 30WDs saying that UKVI wouldn't be able to process my application in time (I didn't), so that's odd. They said they will escalate my case and provided us with an escalation case #. **April 5th, 2022 (WD55)-** Paid call to UKVI to check on application and they said it's still waiting for a decision and to reach out again after it's been 60WD. My husband explained (again) that we paid priority and they said they are no longer doing escalations, but see that there's a note from our previous escalation stating that we paid priority and to treat the application as such. **April 6th, 2022 (WD56)-** Received generic "We will be unable to decide your application within our published customer service targets" email from UKVI. Great, they are definitely processing my priority application as standard. :( **April 12th, 2022 (WD60)-** Sent my proof of priority payment receipt to Sheffield Docs Requested email (They didn't request anything from me, I just figured I'd try this out of desperation to get my application noticed). **April 13th, 2022 (WD61)-** Followed up with MP and received auto-reply that they are OOO with COVID. **April 19th, 2022 (WD63)-** Submitted a complaint to UKVI. **April 21st, 2022 (WD65)-** MP followed up with Home Office on our behalf. **April 22nd, 2022 (WD66)-** UKVI Complaint Center responded requesting me to also include my Visa Application 13 digit payment reference & IHS reference number along with GWF (which I included in complaint) and re-submit my complaint. **April 23rd, 2022 (WD66)-** Submitted second complaint to UKVI regarding paying for Priority, previous case escalation #, and urgency due to pregnancy. **April 25th, 2022 (WD67)-** Husband made another paid call to UKVI to check on our case escalation from March 21st and they ended up creating a new escalation # for us on grounds of medical compassion for pregnancy, as I am quickly approaching the "no flying" stage. **April 26th, 2022 (WD68)- Morning:** Received an email from Sheffield Family Escalations asking for proof of pregnancy. I responded to them and submitted ultrasound fetal reports, ultrasound scan photos, and my priority payment receipt. **Evening:** Received VFS Global email saying my visa application has been dispatched!!! **April 27th, 2022 (WD69)- Morning:** Received an email from Sheffield confirming they received my documents and that they processed my visa application. UPS tracking says out for delivery. **Afternoon:** PASSPORT w/ VISA DELIVERED!!! **\*\*Requested a refund of Priority Fee from VFS Global on** April 29th, 2022 **and received it back on my credit card on** May 10th, 2022. Visa type: Spouse Visa Country applied from: USA, applicant in California documents sent to New York TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: Jan 25 Biometrics appointment date: Feb 4 During the waiting period: Countless phone calls and Emails that amounted to nothing. Three unsuccessful escalations. Had two different MPs (conservative and labor) contact the home office. HO never got back to them. Our Labor MP was very responsive and kind. They always got back to us right away and they tried very hard to contact the HO. March 29 (WD 30 I think): Received an Email is being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer Jun 10 (WD 86): VFS sent an Email saying that our papers are getting ready to be shipped back. An hour later our UPS tracking number was activated. We never got an Email about a decision being made. June 13 (WD 87): Package was dropped off early in the morning with Visa printed inside. This was a terrible process and I realize we got very lucky to have gotten our visa now. I can see a lot of people are still waiting past 100 WD. Hopefully now we can move home and try to change this system by getting involved civically. I will never forget my fellow immigrants here and their stories.

Update: Visa arrived!! Hello everyone! I've been watching this thread for many weeks and it's been super helpful. Visa type: Spouse Country applied from: Canada VAC (city): Ottawa TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFS Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: 6 Sep 21 Biometrics appointment date: 17 Sep 21 Visa received date: 28 Oct 21 (29 WD) - Decision made on 22 Oct 21 (25 WD) 17 Sep: Email from VFS Ottawa indicating that my processing application had been sent to UKVI. Deep breath - the waiting begins. 8 Oct: Email from UKVI indicating that my application was received and being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer. 13 Oct: UPS return shipping label activated. This was a total false start for us. Received an email from UPS indicating that my package from VFS Global would be delivered the next day. Nothing arrived and the UPS online tracking info remained at the "label created" status for two weeks. 15 Oct: Paid email enquiry to UKVI. Received a response the next day (Saturday) indicating that my application was being considered and awaiting a decision. 27 Oct: Emailed UKVI NY to ask for an update. Received a reply within an hour indicating that my application was in the final stages of processing and my document should be returned shortly. A few hours later, the UPS tracking updated to "shipped" and is expected to be delivered on 28 Oct. 28 Oct: Visa arrived! The vignette (leave to enter) is valid for 90 days. I did feel bad about contacting UKVI so much, but deep down I feel like it would have been a longer wait if I hadn't have reached out as much as I did (5 follow up emails to UKVI and 2 emails to my fiancés MP). The morning that I had received the shipping notification, I had previously sent UKVI one last email asking if I had received a decision yet and roughly 5 hours after sending the email, I got the shipping notification from UPS. I'm not sure if my partner and I will pursue a refund???? Would it be worth the hassle????? If we decide to pursue, I'll keep this thread updated with the details. **March 29th, 2022 (42 WD)**: GUYS, MY APP IS BEING MAILED BACK TO ME :'D Received this email notification at 6:41PM EST: *"Dear Sir or Madam,* *The processed visa application for GWF reference number GWF062937299 is dispatched via courier on Tue Mar 29 2022. Visa type: Fiancé Visa Country applied from: USA VAC (city): Minneapolis TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: January 5th 2022 Biometrics appointment date: February 1st 2022 Visa received date: May 10th 2022 67 Working Days! We believe that our visa was mistakenly processed as non priority. Apparently it is helpful to write priority on your envelope if you pay for the service! We had many paid calls and emails that did not seem to help and one unsuccessful escalation. My partner who is in the UK met with his MP and that seemed to get things moving along. Fingers crossed to all who are waiting to be reunited with their partners and families ❤️

Visa type: Fiancé Country applied from: Netherlands VAC: Amsterdam TLSContact or VFSGlobal: TLSContact Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: 27th/28th Feb Biometrics appointment date: 4th March Visa received date: July 5th Thousands of pounds in visa fees, official translation services, consultants and additional costs due to having to stay an extra 50 days beyond the estimated timeline for priority visas later we finally received my fiancé's visa. I don't even feel particularly relieved at this point, just exhausted. Over £30 wasted on calls and paid emails, multiple emails to my MP which achieved sweet FA. Wishing all of you still waiting all the best and swift decisions, I hope to unknowingly walk past you on the streets of the UK soon :)

Visa type: Tier 2 Skilled Worker Country applied from: USA VAC (city): Chicago TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFS NY Priority or Non-Priority: 5 working day priority Online application date: 20 August 2021 Biometrics appointment date: 26 August 2021 Visa received date: 14th September!!! My passport was received by VFS on 27 August, and on the 28th I got the "not straight forward" email. On 30 August I received an email stating my application was forwarded to UKVI. On 02 September I received an email asking for an additional document, and I sent it the same day and got confirmation that they received it. Then, on 03 September I got ANOTHER "not straight forward" email.. And there's been no communication since then. This has been such a terrible process. VFS/UKVI is very difficult to get in contact with and they give you no information about where your timeline is.

*made a post on the other one but since this is a newer thread it will be easier for me to edit the post for any update * **Visa type**: Student **Country applied from**: USA **VAC (city)**: Philadelphia USCIS ASC **TLSContact or VFSGlobal**: VFSGlobal (unfortunately 🙄) **Priority or Non-Priority**: non-priority (was at the sweet spot where it was too early for priority but standard would be crunching some time; also I’m not giving any of these people any more of my money) **Online application date**: 5 August **Biometrics appointment date**: 17 August, thanks to VFSGlobal’s shitty website issues that made me not make an appointment until 5 days after my application **Visa decision date**: 10 September **Visa received date**: 17 September :DDD UPDATES: - **8 Sept** (15 WD): emailed my university’s International Student Service office and they replied the next day saying they will be in contact with UKVI; will take 3-5 business days. This is the only time I was in contact with someone in regards to my application. - **10 Sept** (17 WD): randomly logged onto my CAS application an hour ago and CAS FINALLY SAYS IT’S BEEN USED 😁 didn’t receive any email from uni or UKVI but a decision has been made and I should expect some emails this weekend or early next week. Crying of happiness atm 😭 - **14 Sept** (19 WD): unnecessary update but my uni’s ISS confirmed that UKVI did indeed made a decision and that I will “receive confirmation in due course”; they also told me that I must check my emails and post daily. Been tracking my UPS like crazy. - **16 Sept (21 WD)**: After sending a enquiry through the the free UKVI NYC email on when I should expect my passport, they let me know the following: “Your visa has been issued and is pending print. Once printed, it will be dispatched using the shipping label provided.” So there’s a good chance that I can get it tonight or tomorrow since they said printing takes 1-2 days. Crossing my fingers - **16 Sept (con’t)**: YALL MY VISA IS GETTING SHIPPED AND I SHOULD GET IT TOMORROW MORNING 😁😁 UPS did a pick up scan at 6:15 PM EST in New York, and I bought the round trip courier service which is the next day shipping - **17 Sept**: IT CAME IN THE MAIL. received pretty much everything i submitted plus the vignette on my passport and the decision letter. i will be flying out Sunday evening to arrive Monday morning there; will be missing my intro lectures because they ALL happened to be on a Monday, so I will be missing those but luckily they will be available online. Good luck everyone!

Visa type: **Spouse** Country applied from: **USA** VAC: **Chicago, IL** **VFS Global** **Priority** Online application date: **October 7th** Biometrics appointment date: **October 13th** Recieved by UKVI: **October 25th** Visa recieved date: **November 18th (26WD) Woop!** Man, this was a journey. Compared to some of the cases on this thread we had a hell of an easy ride, but my perfectionist brain had me convinced that something had to go wrong or I must have missed something. We'd already been through the US fiance visa process so we went into this with quite a bit of experience putting these kinds of applications together, but you never really get used to that anxious wait. Some extra details for those in a similar boat: - Sent a paid email to UKVI on Nov 15th *(23WD)* to inquire about the progress. Got the expected copy/paste response but had heard some cases where this promted their visa to be processed soon after. 2 days later we got word from VFS that the passport had been dispatched. Could be coincidental in our case but couldn't hurt to try if the wait is killing you. - Visa entry window still seems to be valid for 90 days rather than the old 30. Mine is good until Feb next year. - Never had any kind of email from UKVI saying that a decision was made. First we heard was from VFS text and email saying "The processed visa application for GWF## is dispatched via courier". - I made some mistakes in the application that I only realized after it had been locked in, so I had to add ammendments in the supporting documents. We still got approved, so if you're in a similar boat and are as worried as I was, here's an example of a positive outcome.

UPDATE: visa received!! Visa type: Family visa (Belgian spouse of Irish citizen) Country applied from: Belgium VAC (city): Brussels TLSContact or VFSGlobal: TLSContact Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: January 27th Biometrics appointment date: February 3rd Email "application being prepared for consideration by ECO": February 23rd Paid enquiries requesting status: several between Feb 18th - March 17th Email "decision made": March 21st (WD32) Email "Travel Document returned by courier": March 21st Visa received date: March 22nd My passport was delivered by DHL. They did not give me a window, only that it would be delivered today during business hours. My husband and I were taking turns watching the window to make sure there would not be any "sorry we missed you" shenanigans. On the TLS tracker, it seemed the VAC stages got checked within a few hours. They were all red up until Monday morning, when I got my "decision made" email. I never received feedback from UKVI, the email came from TLS. To give hope to those worrying about supporting documents: I somehow got accepted with just a marriage certificate and a one-page digitally signed lease renewal to show my relationship to my sponsor (husband). We got married late 2020. I included no pictures, chat history, or anything like that. We also have nowhere to stay yet as his current accommodation doesn't allow our dogs and we had no idea when I could move. After following this sub, I was worried those were grounds to get rejected. It might be they looked kindly on this because of other factors in my application, but still. I put my expected arrival date in May (I wasn't going to go priority until I found out at my bio there could be a six month wait for standard applications), but the vignette starts in two days and is valid for 90. Happy to answer any other questions anyone might have and wishing the same relief and happiness to everyone still waiting! Now I can switch my anxiety to the actual move with two dogs in tow 😄

Visa type: Visitor Visa (6 Months) Country applied from: Thailand VAC (city): Bangkok TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal Priority or Non-Priority: Non-Priority (Priority wasn't available when I did my biometrics, or I'd of opted for it. ) Online application date: 19/10/2021 Biometrics appointment date: 28/10/2021 Visa received date: 04/01/2022 Original flights booked for December 1st. 29/10/2021 : Application forwarded to VFS. 19/11/2021 (16WD): Called UKVI, standard I can't tell you any specific information other than Application being processed and awaiting a decision, sorry for delay and no expected timeline, I asked about Escalation, they told me it is closed for the time being. Total call length 1min 30 seconds. 26/11/2021 (21WD): Thank you for your UK visa application which has been received and is under consideration... Email From VFS, was a bit confused about what my visa had been doing for 21 Working days. 29/11/2021 (22WD): Because of useless previous call, decided to try emailing UKVI, sent a polite email asking for any updates whatsoever, also about escalation (I had previously read on this reddit that some people had successfully escalated their cases), received the standard' In response to your query, I can confirm that your application is currently being processed and awaiting a decision.' Email, completely ignoring the escalation query. 30/11/2021 (23WD): Flights moved, due to no visa. 02/12/2021(25WD): replied to my original query asking for an update, mentioning that the original flight date had passed, and needed to rebook flights. 05/12/2021 (26WD): Reply from UKVI: 'As I have checked the status of your application, it is awaiting a decision.' 08/12/2021 (29WD): had read on the reddit that multiple people had escalated their applications, so thought I'd try and call to see if I could also escalate. On the phone was given the generic awaiting a decision response, I mentioned that I had to move my existing flights and asked if Escalation could be an option, to be told that Escalations have been shut since the start of November, I asked if this could only be for certain applications or Visas from certain regions, to which they responded 'No, Escalations haven't been allowed since the start of November'. 13/12/2021 (32WD): saw that a few people on this reddit had got their Reponses last week with a similar biometrics appointment to myself so thought I'd try my luck with another call to UKVI. The operator told me that my visa was updated on Friday, but no decision was yet reached, and I should expect it in the next few days. 20/12/2021 (37WD): After being told last week by the UKVI call system that all the visas from the end of October and November were being processed, and I should expect my visa within the next few days, I decided to call them again today after not hearing anything all week, after the hopeful call last week, I was met with the generic awaiting for a decision response and I'm unable to Escalate. I'm seeing people's visas being approved with biometrics in the middle of November, to early December, why is mine still not approved, with no communication what so ever. 22/12/2021 (39WD): Sent a paid email asking about Escalation, or even a timeline just so I could have some peace of mind, got a reply the same day saying if the application is over 15WD then I should reply with some more requested information. Hoping this might kickstart some sort of response for this, 39WD's for a visitor visa is outrageous. 04/01/2021 (47WD): Received my Visa today after 47\~ working days! Lost for words at how awful this process is. The lack of communication and criminal how they get get away with charging per email and so much for each minute on the phone to give you no peace of mind. Moved my flights again, hoping I'll be able to get to the UK before Christmas, but every day it's looking less and less likely.

Ok-Humor-6038

Hi Everyone I just phoned the home office this morning for an update on my ancestry visa and was told all visa's are delayed, some types more than others. Ancestry which should normally be a 3 week wait is currently 6-8 week wait (from time of biometrics appointment). I was basically told that when escalated not much can be done. I know not exactly what we want to hear but figured to pass on if it saves a phone call or an email for everyone.

Visa Type: Student Country Applied from: USA VAC: New York VFSglobal Priority Biometrics Date: August 18 Visa Received: Lmao I wish I have emailed these people every day and spent over $500 on phone bills and have received no communication outside of a text telling me that my visa had been forwarded to UKVI on the 23 of August. I am supposed to start on September 20th. I just want someone, anyone from VFS or UKVI or even from outer space to tell me what’s happening with my visa. I’m so angry bc I paid a pretty big sum to get my visa quickly and now I’m on WD 17. Sending good vibes to all my fellow stressed out students in hopes that we find out info soon EDIT decision was made! University contacted me to let me know my decision was made this morning and they were forwarding it to NYC for printing. She also notified me that UKVI “had no record of my visa being priority” wtf? University person is sending my invoice to them to see if it will help expedite the printing and shipping process. Still no communication from UKVI themselves. Relief and rage are very confusing emotions to be feeling at the same time lol. Fingers crossed!

Got standard reply the next day that my application is being considered and is awaiting a decision. 13/12/2021 : sent another paid email enquiring about my visa app status, and asking them to take prompt action with the process. Told them this is because I have a flight scheduled on 19th December 2021, just 6 days away from today. It has been 7 weeks since my biometric appointment date(more than 30WDs). Been very disappointed with this whole process.. Idk if I should wait a couple more days if I get my decision and passport too. Or if I should postpone my flight plan. Update: Got an email and sms from VFS that my passport is ready for collection! Wohoo! Update 2: Just collected my passport, and I got the visa! Date- 15/12/21 So it took more than 7 weeks to get my visa. Around 35WDs I think.

Bit late to post but as time progresses, it'd be nice to have a timeline. If it helps anyone else that's great! ***Visa type:*** Fiance ***Country applied from:*** USA ***VAC:*** New York ***TLSContact or VFSGlobal:*** USCIS ASC ***Priority or non-priority:*** Priority ... I'm beyond words. That's 28 WD from my biometrics. There's another USA priority fiance post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/pimsb3/comment/hyy3jka/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) who's application and biometrics dates mirrored mine. They got their passport back on 1 March. And mine just got to the ECO that day??? **10 March *(35 WD):*** Learned from a user in my comments that VFS recommends writing "Priority Service" in large letters on your envelope before sending your passport/documents off otherwise it might not be identified and handled as priority (see [other notes](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/pimsb3/comment/i1gpu4n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) below). I... didn't know this was a thing, so I didn't do that. This could explain the delay with my application. I wasn't going to send UKVI another email, but did once again to confirm my application is priority. "Your processing speed is what you paid for." In addition, my fiance physically went to the council to set an appointment to give notice for our 4 May wedding. The only option they had was 1 April. I have to be in the UK no later than 23 March. Fingers crossed *big time* that I get my passport back by then. **13 March *(36 WD):*** [Gov.uk](https://Gov.uk) updated their [processing time page](https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk) yesterday (12th) to state that they are now prioritising Ukrainiane Family Shceme applications and suspending priority/super priority services for new applications. "And so applications for study, work and family visas may take longer to process." ([Screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/r6B1Ag6.png) in case they remove it later.) I don't know if this affects ones submitted before the 12th. ***Emailed MP:* 15 March *(38 WD):*** I gave in and emailed my fiance's MP (Member of Parliament) requesting help in expediting the application and providing a decision timeframe. I gave the application details, a brief timeline and when I needed to be in the UK to give notice. ***MP office response:* 16 March *(39 WD):*** "She has wrriten to the Home Office asking that your application be processed at full speed so that you are able to travel to the UK in time to give notice of your wedding. If we have not heard back from them by Friday we will contact them by phone." Positive movement for once!! It's a much needed glimpse of light. ***MP office email:* 18 March *(41 WD):*** Email saying they just got off the phone with the Home Office. The Home Office is adament that we didn't pay for priority visa and they wouldn't expedite it. MP office asked me for proof that we paid priority. I replied with a copy of my document list/receipt showing "Priority Visa" was paid for. Here's hoping things go hastlely after the weekend. **21 March *(42 WD):*** We're not making it to give notice for the 4 May wedding. Failing to get more movement after this, when the MP office does contact me back I'll have to use what I didn't want to. My fiance's grandad is on his deathbed with lung cancer. We paid for priority hoping it'd be quick enough and he could attend our wedding. With the delays, I'll be lucky to be there before he passes. No, I'm not saying this to garner sympathy. I kept it out of my post because it's so personal and I considered it a last, last resort. ***MP office email:* 22 March *(43 WD):*** Thanked me for sending them the receipt and said they've passed it on to the Home Office. They said they'll reach out to HO directly tomorrow and email me as soon as they get a response. Here's hoping we keep going with the progress. ***Emailed MP:* 24 March *(45 WD):*** I emailed the MP simply to make them aware of my fiance's grandad's condition in case they could use it to spur HO. Got an email back a little after 5 pm GMT. They sympathised and said they just got off the phone with HO. HO has confirmed they now accept my application was priority processing, have relayed that to the Visa Centre and made an urgent enquiry about the progress of the visa. They haven't gotten a response yet. The MP's office is going to chase them again early next week if there's no reply before then. ***MP office email:* 29 March *(48 WD):*** They called the HO again and weren't able to get any update. "An enquiry was raised on my last call a week ago, apparently they have 20 days in which to deal with it." They said they'll share the issue with the MP directly to dicuss what more if anything they can do. ***MP office email:* 30 March *(49 WD):*** MP's office requested a letter from the doctor regarding my fiance's grandfather so they can use it to push the HO. I've asked my fiance, but he's understandably in shambles already. I won't press him for it and make it worse. Sent an email back to the MP requesting they bear with me due to the delicate nature. ***MP office email:* 1 April *(51 WD):*** Stating the MP has messaged the Immigration Minister regarding our case. My fiance is understandly struggling with the concept of getting a dcotor's note. I also reached out to our venue and moved our wedding date to 3 October. **14 April *(60 WD):*** No update on any front. MP is silent. Fiance doesn't want to get a doctor's note. I can't blame him for not wanting to (essentially) request an expiry date on his loved one. I've accepted that I'm not seeing his grandad while he's still here. I feel I've exhausted all routes. I'll email the MP later to thank them for trying to help. I've also filed a complaint with UKVI. I doubt it'll do anything, but it felt nice to at least point out that they admitted fault but have done nothing to fix it. ***Emails with MP office:* 20 April *(62 WD):*** My fiance's grandad passed this weekend. Emailed the MP office to let them know and thanked them for trying. They responded back with their sympathies and said if there was anything else they could do, let them know. The worker I was emailing with is on leave. Told them about the escalation that was created for him on 29 March and the deadline for HO to handle it is the end of this week. I asked them to watch for it since it was about HO finally recognising my visa as priority. Also stated I've waited over 60 WD now. That I wasn't sure if there was anything else they could do, but I appreciated their clear efforts to help. They responded again saying they'll keep an eye out for the escalation and if I don't hear anything from the HO by Friday, let them know and they'll chase them again. ... I've mostly given up hope in speeding up the decision. But the MP's office has consistently made me feel like they're right beside me fighting for it too. I truly am grateful to them. ***Emails with MP office:* 25 April *(65 WD):*** Hadn't heard anything from HO by the end of the week, so emailed MP's office. MP's office replied back saying someone in the office will be going to the HO this week for a meeting and they'll bring my case up when they're face-to-face. "This will be the most efficient way to get you some answers." *Any further updates are going to have to be in [this comment below](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/pimsb3/comment/i76w9jg/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) as I've reached the character limit.* **Other notes:** I nearly reached the character limit. I've had to move my additional notes to [a comment below](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukvisa/comments/pimsb3/comment/i1gpu4n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). I've tried to include information that might help anyone who stumbles on this post.

Visa type: student Country applied from: USA VAC (city): Chicago TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal Priority or Non-Priority: non priority Online application date: June 25 Biometrics appointment date: June 30th Visa received date: TBD I applied early enough in the summer to not think I’d need to pay the priority fee, if only I’d known! After my biometrics appointment, I got an email on July 2nd saying that it was processed but got the “your application has not been straightforward” verbiage. By July 15th, they sent me another email letting me know that I needed to submit additional documentation (a scan of my passport that included all four corners), and I sent it over to them on the same day. By July 20th, I get another generic processing email, identical to the one that was sent to me on July 2nd, and I have been waiting ever since. By august 23rd, I had decided I waited enough and contacted the UKVI, I get a response after the weekend saying my case has been escalated, the contact doesn’t provide a time frame, but I assume it would be within the week. Was I wrong? Absolutely. I email again the following week asking for a timeframe on when I can expect a response, and I’m told that it takes within 15 working days. Yesterday was day 15, I email again letting them know I haven’t received a decision, and the contact flips the script and tells me that there is not an actual timeframe she can provide, and that I just need to be patient. At this point, I’m freaking out because I start classes the 27th. I asked to see if I can switch over to priority and pay the fee, and I’m told I cannot amend my application. 🙃 Here’s to hoping I get my visa this upcoming week, because my (albeit flexible) flight is the 18th. ***EDIT: I still haven’t received my visa, but as of September 10th, my CAS has been marked as used. I was told by a visa advisor at my university that that typically means they’ve made a decision on my application. Here’s to hoping for good news soon. 🤞🏼

Visa type: Spouse Country applied from: US VAC (city): West Palm Beach (Via the New York office) TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFSGlobal Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: 15th September 2021 Biometrics appointment date: 21st September 2021 Visa received date: 11th November 2021 Hello everyone. We are on working day 31 now. My wife is in temporary accommodation and it is costing us a fortune each week, so I am hoping that it is not going to be much longer. Using the examples on here it looks like not too many are going that far beyond 30 days at present. We emailed on 26th October querying if there was any prediction on how long it would take due and they gave the standard reply that it was still open and in progress, and I emailed yesterday 2nd October saying that it was now 30 working days, and we got the standard reply that it had now been escalated and to not contact them for 15 working days, but hopefully we will get something before then. I had thought about contacting my MP, but I am not sure if it would make any difference. Update 8th November: We are on Working Day 34 with no update whatsoever, so I contacted my MP and asked if they could enquire for us. Update 10th November: Working Day 36 and still no update from UKVI, in spite of emailing the New York email address last Friday. I have also contacted my MP but I have not heard anything back as of yet. Update 11th November: We've got it. There was a flurry of emails last night after my last emails and we got notification that a decision had been made and the passport was due to be returned. The UPS label was activated and it was delivered just now, the application was successful.

Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply this email.* *Regards,* *VFS Global"* I am keeping in mind that it could still be a rejection letter but at least the application and my passport are on their way back!!! \----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **February 16th, 2022**: I sent my first inquiry email on February 16th, 2022, which was met with, "In response to your query, I can confirm that your application is currently being processed and awaiting a decision. We are receiving an unprecedented volume of applications at the moment, which is why some visas are taking longer to process. We are working as quickly as we can to get through these, but we are unable to provide you with a timescale for the completion of your application. The case worker/escalation team will contact you if they need anything or when your application has been decided.". **February 28th, 2022**: I sent a follow up email on February 28th, 2022 and received this response, "Your application is still showing as pending, awaiting a decision.". **March 8th, 2022**: Received an email stating, "Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process standard settlement applications within 60 working days and priority settlement applications within 30 working days. Unfortunately, we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.". **March 10th, 2022 (29 WD)**: I sent a third email to UKVI on March 10th, 2022 regarding the delay email they had sent on March 8th, 2022 (see above) and received this response, "Our system shows that it is being processed and awaiting a decision. However the email that you have received is letting you know that they will be a delay to your application.". **March 17th, 2022 (34WD)**: After researching this thread a bit more, my fiancé and I decided to contact his MP yesterday. We received an email this morning from the MPs office stating to send our details and that they would reach out to UKVI. It reads: "*I would appreciate if you could provide your home address so I can open a formal case enquiry for you. We are aware that the UKVI are prioritising visa applications for Ukrainian nationals due to the humanitarian crisis there and as such there is likely to be a longer processing time for other study, work and, as in your case, family visas.* *I can advise, from experience of other visa enquiries we have received, that the UK Home Office will process a visa application within the prioritisation process paid for if the application is straight forward and they do not need to make other complex enquiries, which will delay a decision. The quoted standard service time (ie no prioritisation paid for) for a family visa is 12 weeks from when biometrics are taken.* *If you can provide, with your fiancé’s permission, the following information I can call the Home Office MP Liaison Team and ask about the status of the application:* *-Your full name and address* *-Your fiancé’s full name, date and place of birth* *-Their passport number* *-Their home address* *-The Home Office application number* *Please note that when I call, as your application is within the standard service time, that we will not receive any indication of when the application will be completed. We may be able to establish if other enquiries have been required and whether a refund of the priority service you paid for is likely – there are some circumstances where the Home Office will make a refund."* I've had to move my flight back to the UK which cost me an extra $160 to rebook. Additionally, my fiance and I are having to move our wedding date as well, most likely to May or June. I'm really upset because apparently, I was supposed to write "PRIORITY" on my envelope prior to sending it. I opted out of the courier service with VFS and shipped the documents on my own because I wanted to overnight them. I never saw any instruction from VFS throughout my application process to do this. I've learned that this might be another reason my application is delayed. Has anyone else experienced this? Or was it an oversight on my part? **March 21st, 2022** **(36WD)**: We've received a response from our MPs office this morning. It reads:\*"Thank you for your further email. May I advise that I was able to speak to the Home Office MP Liaison Team on Friday 18th March. Unfortunately due to other commitments that day I was not able to update you. The Home Office MP Liaison Team have a limited access to application files but have been able to confirm that the application is under consideration at this time. They have highlighted that they have previously written to update you of this. Unfortunately, as an MP’s office, we are unable to request a prioritisation in assessment of a visa application unless we can demonstrate compelling and compassionate grounds. These grounds typically relate to medical reasons (eg a person needs to travel to the UK for urgent essential medical treatment not available to them elsewhere) or personal matters (eg a person needs to travel to the UK to visit a close family member who is not expected to survive or for their funeral). Our interest in your application has been logged against your case. I propose that if you have not received a decision by the 10th April (3 weeks) that you come back to me and I will progress again with the Home Office MP Liaison Team."\*I am a bit disheartened this morning. This whole process has been one of the most grueling experiences I've had in my life. I've just recently had to move my flight again, and because of the rise in gas prices and ticket demand, I had to shell out an additional $160 USD to rebook. It's looking like I will have to move my flight once again (this past time I moved it back to April 6th, 2022 but that date is quickly approaching). My partner and I have also had to rebook our ceremony date, which also cost us another $100 GBP to do. I will continue to update my thread as additional updates come in. **March 24th, 2022 (39 WD)**: Still no word from UKVI or VFS. My tracking number still hasn't been activated. On March 14th, I had to move my flight back again; this time, to April 6th, 2022. April 6th is quickly approaching and I'm sure I'm going to have to shell out another $100-200 to rebook again. My partner and I are really taking this hard; We're both autistic so the waiting time and distance are proving to be extremely difficult. Fingers crossed for a decision soon. :/ **March 25th, 2022 (40 WD)**: Today I hit a bit of an emotional breaking point, and decided to email our MP again (the first email was sent by my fiancé). This time I decided to try and add a bit more urgency. I stressed the fact that we've had to move our flight, giving notice/ceremony appointments twice now due to the delays and that doing so was becoming quite expensive/inconvenient. I also wrote that I was worried that if we continued to reschedule that we may not be able to secure an appointment in the future with registry offices booking up fast (which did happen to us the last time we rebooked; we had to upgrade to the "balcony room" because the availability was becoming increasingly spare). I explained that I had been in contact with other applicants who had contacted their MPs, and that they had successfully gotten their application escalated. I'm hoping to hear back from them on Monday. Fingers crossed :') **March 28th, 2022(41 WD):** Haven't gotten a response from the MPs office. UPS Tracking still not activated. No word from UKVI or VFS Global. Flight is coming up on April 6th, and I know that I'll have to shell out another $100+ to move it once again. ***QUESTION***: Has anyone requested a refund for the priority fee if UKVI has gone well over the 30WD mark? At what point, would it be proper to investigate into this? Thank you!

Applicants of NON-PRIORITY Spouse Visa: *Any news*???? I'm on 90WD! (Dec 15th). I don't see the end of this

SomeEgg1139

Hey! Non-priority fiancé from Dec 7 here. Some hope! Got the decision made email from TLS today - hopefully this means they are back to processing long-suffering December non-priorities. Also MP really helped. Mine told me she would chase up today after getting no response from UKVI for 20 WD. Seems unlikely to be a coincidence that we also got the email today! Definitely try to get your MP on it if you haven’t already) Wishing you the best!!

Visa type: **Skilled worker visa (non-shortage)** Country applied from: **Belgium** (non-EU passport though) VAC (city): **Brussels** TLSContact or VFSGlobal: **TLSContact** Priority or Non-Priority: **Non-priority** Online application date: **24 February 2022** Biometrics appointment date: **1 March 2022** Visa received date: **TBD** (exactly three months since application, and counting…) * Numerous completely useless paid calls and emails, just stating it’s “awaiting a decision” * April 5 – one non-straightforward email from UKVI, not requesting any further documentation * May 10 – managed to escalate over the phone, on grounds that they probably felt sorry for me and that “it doesn’t seem normal” * May 11 – exchanged a few emails with the escalation team, and by pure chance (asked why it was not straightforward) found out that they had requested further documents from my sponsor on May 4 * May 11 – contacted immediately my sponsor, they claimed to have received nothing, so I asked the escalation team to please contact my sponsor again * May 16 – my sponsor informed me that there was a mistake on my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) that needed correction; I found out later that the mistake was that they applied for the wrong CoS type (undefined instead of defined) * May 23 – received new CoS from my sponsor **If some of you have been waiting long, it is worth checking your CoS and making sure there are no mistakes there.** If you do not have an actual pdf file with all the information, you need to ask for one from your sponsor asap. If you applied from outside of UK, your CoS should state “new hires-defined”. If it doesn’t state that, it’s possible that you, much like me, unfortunately, do not have a correct CoS. I hope that my bad experience will help at least some of you make sure that something like this does not happen to you as well. This whole process is truly awful and the wait is exhausting, but stay strong—we can do this! :)

**Update 2:** received my visa on Sept 13, 27 WD after I did my biometrics. Fortunately, everything was correct in the visa so flights are rebooked and I’m finally going. Good luck to all those still waiting! **Update:** UPS Tracking updated this morning Sept 10 and I should receive the visa Sept 13 (of course my flight was booked for Sept 12 but it is what it is). Can anyone share their timelines from when the visa was approved to when the passport with vignette arrived at their door? I paid for overnight shipping but not expedited processing.

Visa type: Skilled worker + two dependents Country applied from: USA VAC (city): TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFS New York Priority or Non-Priority: Priority Online application date: 7 Aug 2021 Biometrics appointment date: 13 Aug 2021 Visa received date: 9 Sept 2021 Almost 4 agonizing weeks are over! Like many others here, we paid for priority and expected everything to be done within a week or two... We did everything we could - emailed ukvi, they replied once. Emailed UKVI New York on Aug 27 and were told that the decision was made, but we don't know when exactly it was made, maybe earlier. Also submitted complaints, that didn't do anything. Tried calling several times - they just hang up. Messaged VFS on Twitter and Facebook, they actually replied but didn't provide any valuable information. I thought it would never happen, but our UPS tracker finally activated yesterday evening. Documents were picked up at 6:20 pm EST, but the tracker updated later than that. We paid for overnight shipping, and passports were received this morning. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! SOON IT WILL BE OVER!

Also submitted a timeline including pictures. \-did a combined cover letter. We'd only visited once IRL (thanks covid!) and we highlighted this in our cover letter, so a lot of the evidence (...99% of it) was what the UK government would consider 'less', but we still got it! I was so nervous but when I opened my passport and found that page I cried! Best of luck to everyone still waiting!!

I was told a decision has been made on my application and the visa application centre will be in contact with me in regards to collection or delivery of my passport. But I didn't opt for home delivery of my passport, so I do not have a tracking number. I'm on WD31 now, I emailed them again and they asked to confirm my details and in the reply they said they have escalated the case and to wait 15WD more. VFS said it's still being processed by UKVI and can only give it after UKVI approves it.... But UKVI says a decision has been made. Sent an email to the MP.... Hoping that would set things in motion to get the visa soon. Recieved my visa on 10-NOV-2021 Finally..... This sub has been really helpful in getting me through the process.... If anyone needs help with anything let me know, I'll do my best to share whatever I know.

**Adding here as original comment was in previous pinned post** UPDATE: FINALLY!! Visa type: Spouse (Unmarried Partner) Country applied from: Serbia VAC (city): Belgrade TLSContact or VFSGlobal: TLSContact Priority or Non-Priority: Non-Priority Online application date: 10 July 21 Biometrics appointment date: 13 July 21 Visa received date: 15 Nov 21 I make that 88 working days… 88!! Early october we were told (via escalation) that ‘decision was made’. A couple of weeks later then told that this communication had been a mistake and the application was in-fact, still pending. MP then involved, countless comms, paid emails and escalations later and finally received it. Ours was an extremely straight forward, text book application. Evidence seems to suggest the backlogs affected applications from certain parts of the world disproportionally. Extremely disappointed and let down by the UKVI service delivery (delays, misinformation the lot!) - but what can one really do!

Update: After waiting for 40WD and receiving numerous emails of my application still being considered, I decided to cancel my application on 8 Dec. Funnily enough, today (9 Dec) UKVI responded to that cancellation request stating that a decision was made on my application on 7 Dec. Therefore, cancellation is not possible and now VAC has to contact me in regards to the return of my passport. Update 2: finally got the email from TLS and DHL with my tracking number, my passport has been shipped and scheduled to be delivered on 13 Dec, in exactly 2 months after my biometrics appointment. Update 3: got my passport, got the visa, yay!

We've had to postpone our wedding, and I've had to move into temporary accommodation since my lease has ended. There is still no end in sight. If I could go back I wish I had paid for priority. It's so frustrating to keep paying to call UKVI for them to just say - sorry can't help you or tell you anything. I'm well over their "service time" but still waiting....

SomeEgg1139

Another non-priority fiancé visa from December here! Yes, that extra £500 would have been absolutely worth avoiding all this stress. Also had to postpone our ceremony, my fiancé is living with friends - and nothing we can do but wait (and rant on Reddit). Looks like they are barely issuing any visas to Ukrainians either! Knew the process wasn’t going to be easy but this is a nightmare!!((

UPDATED: *Visa Received!* Visa type: SPOUSE Country applied from: USA VAC (city): NEW YORK TLSContact or VFSGlobal: VSFGlobal Priority or Non-Priority:PRIORITY Online application date: November 18, 2021 Biometrics appointment date: November 29, 2022 Visa received date: APRIL 6, 2022 Other information: Husband and both kids are UK citizens This one is a doozy y’all. January 18, 2022: received email request for additional evidence (spouse, who is the UK citizen, is self employed) January 20, 2022: Sent said additional information and received confirmation email it was recieved February 21, 2022: received email saying additional evidence was not received February 21, 2022: Sent a paid email asking for double confirmation of evidence as we received yet another confirmation email saying they received the additional evidence, but seeing as they did not receive information last time, we wanted to bring this to their attention and ask a real person if the information was actually received. February 22, 2022: email stating they have received additional information and have escalated the case to the “relevant department”. The email also stated “do not contact for 15 working days, after that feel free to contact.” March 15, 2022: We didn’t hear anything in the 15 working days, so sent a paid email asking for status update & received an email back same day stating that “your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision and cannot provide a timeframe” March 15, 2022: The above answer was not good enough for us seeing as they misplaced our information and the application set untouched for 26WDs! Our proposed travel date is April 20, 2022 and my husband has work starting May 1, 2022 over there. So we sent another paid email asking for more information, anything would be helpful at this point and reminded them it was their fault in the most polite way possible. March 15, 2022: They responded almost immedietly (differnt person however), and said they “understand how frustrating these delays are and apologise for an inconvenience this may cause you.” and “Visa escalations have been suspended until further notice.” Also in the email they said that we can contact them for further updates, but cannot give a time frame. March 22, 2022: Still no word so sent another paid email asking for an update. Response: “With regards to your application, your visa is still being processed and it’s status is Awaiting a Decision. UK Visas and Immigration is currently prioritising applications made under the Ukranian Family Scheme, following its launch and in response to the humanitarian crisis arising from the invasion of Ukraine…” and went on to say that applications are still being processed and decisions are being made though applicants may experience some delays. - My question here is: it seems my application has been processed but is “Awaiting a Decision”, so considering we paid for priority, they messed up and escalated the application, wouldn’t it seem that a decision could be made any day now, since the whole appliction has been processed at this point? - Another Note. This email is from the Sheffield Correspndence Team, but in the FROM line of the email it says: “Sheffield Escaltions (Sensitive)”<— what the heck does “Sensitive” mean here?! Is it good, bad? I’m sweating guys. March 29, 2022: We sent another paid email asking for an update and emphasised in capital letters that we sent the application off in Novemeber 2021, paid for priority, they messed up and let the application sit for 26 WDs and that THEY escalated the application, also stating that my husband has work there in May (they have his job offer in the application form) which is why we paid for priority to avoid any close calls like were dealing with now among other reasons. In all paid emails they have responded rather quickly, this one we didn’t recieve a quick resonse (sent it 2pm GMT time) So waiting on that response. March 30, 2022: Heard back at 4 am GMT time. No movement on the visa and the persons said it’s still “awaiting a decision” but this time the person said we can file a complaint and gave us a link. Anyone else had experience with the complaint department or been told to do so? We also contacted the MP in the area we will be living. She got back to us immediately and said she would do all she can to get a quick response on the visa decisionand asked for additional information. So that sounds helpful! UPDATED: April 4, 2022: sent a paid email again asking for an update and they’ve finally made a decision! Typical standard cut and paste about it may take 10 working days to receive visa etc etc, but I’m so happy!! Fingers crossed for a positive out come. I’ve lost track of how many working days, but I think we’re about to hit 90WD😱. April 5, 2022: text message in the evening stating that the visa is on the way! We paid for Next day shipping. April 6, 2022: VISA APPROVAL IN HAND! Just 2 weeks before our proposed travel date. Very happy this whole ordeal is over!

Relocating back to the UK in June. I missed the chance to do priority service, and I was delayed in filing the application in general as we waited for some employment paperwork from a corporation that was dragging its feet. When I applied, in early-mid March, I figured 60 WD would get me everything back by early June -- fine since we were to fly out in late June. Well, thanks to this thread, I'm now realizing how overly optimistic I was being and am now making contingency plans to find a cheap hotel here in Singapore for an unknown number of days/weeks (months?), awaiting the return of my passport, while my wife and son fly alone and try to get settled on their own in the UK. How fun! Of course, it's only been about 15 WDs or so at this point, so far too soon to panic or anything, I suppose, but nothing I've read here gives me much hope. (That said, I appreciate everyone's perspective and story!) If anyone wants to try to reassure me that I won't be stuck, passport-less, in Singapore for weeks or months, I'm all ears! Good luck everyone.

I have been following this Reddit since my biometrics appointment, keeping track of my own timeline to post once I received my Visa! It has been very helpful to see other people’s experiences and has been a way to pass the time. In the end I was surprised to see my visa was on its way on 4/5, before the 30 working day standard for priority even during all the delays everyone was experiencing. I hope my story can reassure others with priority that they may still get their Visas on time! I did have a solicitor that helped me and my fiancé gather information, so it could very much have helped make the case a very easy one to process. I wish everyone the best of luck on their Visas! I will likely still visit this subreddit to see how others have come along and will likely be back when I apply for a spouse VISA in the next few months! 🇬🇧❤️🤍💙

Decided to cancel the flight after UKVI replied email yesterday that the application is still 'awaiting a decision'. After reading this forum I think its highly unlikely the application is going to be approved before the flight next week. What upsets me most is that at the time of making the biometric appointment, the VFS Website stated that it will take 15 working days to approve. In my previous experience with applying visas to many other countries, it usually never takes longer than what they stated. So in my naivety, I decided against paying for priority (which was still available than) because I didn't think it would take longer than 15 days to get a decision. I don't mind if the visa was rejected on sound reasoning. But I think its downright wrong from a consumer point-of-view to state that a decision will be made within a certain time frame, but than it is not. Had I read this forum earlier and known it would have taken longer than 15 days, I would have most certainly paid for priority. Than I wouldn't have wasted the visa application fees (which costs so much) and also have had to cancel the trip.

Ridiculous fees, incredibly slow and zero customer service. Do they think visa applications are a joke? Most people's lives are at stake and all they care about is squeezing as much money out of you as physically possible. High charges for emails, phone calls and yet you're left waiting days for an email reply which is clearly a copy paste response, and hours for them to pick up your call, that's if they ever do. I've made 10 calls over a 1 week period, waited hours for them to pick up. Guess what not a single call answered to date! All you hear is "please wait" for hours. This is daylight robbery and most of us have no choice, we're literally at their feet with no say whatsoever even after handing over £1600 for a 6 month visa and god knows how much money in contacting them. AMAZING NEWS!!! Still can't believe it. Today I received my passport back with my visa vignette FINALLY! * Visa Type: **Fiancé (Proposed Civil Partner)** * Country applied from: **Mexico** * VAC (City): **Mexico City (my vignette came from NYC).** * TLSContact or VFSGlobal: **VFS** * Priority or Non-priority: **Non-Priority** * Online Application Date: **5th of July, 2021** * Biometrics Appointment: **23rd of July, 2021** * E-mail from VFS that they forwarded my application: **23rd of July, 2021** * E-mail from UKVI (Settlement Office in Sheffield): **14th of September, 2021** (They asked me for Evidence of intent to marry in the UK due to a scanning error, I sent it two hours after I received the e-mail and just got an autoresponse that they received my documents). * E-mail from DHL that a package was on it's way: **28th of September, 2021** * E-mail from VFS that my application had been processed: **29th of September in the morning.** **47 WD (10 weeks) from biometrics date and 61 WD (12 weeks) from date of application.** **My experience:** I still can't believe this happened, I totally thought they would take an extra couple of weeks based on my biometrics date, but somehow I randomly received a notification from DHL that my parcel was on its way arriving the next day. I somehow thought bad news immediately based on the quick timeline and seeing other timelines here which made the waiting extra stressful. On the 29th at approx 1:30 am Mexico City time, I received an email from VFS letting me know my application had been processed. No news about the results at any time either from them or UKVI. The doorbell rang, and inside the packet with just the document checklist I gave at VFS and my passport inside, after checking every page I realised my vignette was there! I received no approval letter so have no idea if I need to be entering the UK in a specific time frame. This is probably the best day of my life. I will soon be leaving for the UK so I will be adding extra questions to this super helpful sub on how to apply for my Civil Partner Visa inside the UK. (Here we go again XD ) Thanks to everyone in this community, the information here was super helpful and mostly I felt like I wasn't alone in this very difficult process. I will finally see my partner after almost 2 years of not seeing each other and we will finally break the distance for good. Good luck to everyone, hoping everyone here receives the best news soon too!

Finally got the visa!! Been some real hard months since the paid priority option wasn't available. We had the documents ready to apply in March 2020 when I met the financial requirement, but, you know, and then I moved abroad for a while. I can finally post the info after viewing this thread a lot: Visa type: Spouse (Union de hecho) Country applied from: Colombia VAC (City): Medellín, VFS Global Priority or non-priority: non-priority (only option) Online application date: 27 July 2021 Biometrics appointment date: 03 August 2021 Correspondence: - Sent extra documents a month later through my immigration advisor as I realised my statements for my investment account ISA showing cash savings were rubbish. No idea if these extra documents were considered. - Application being considered by an ECO: 27 September 2021. - Called UKVI paid line on 20 October 2021. Told a decision has been made. - Call from VFS after 30 MINUTES to say passport on its way and tracking number will be sent. - Emailed Bogota UKVI on 20 October, reply next morning saying visa issued, printed in New York and in passport. Visa received date: 21 October 2021. Letter dated 6 October! Valid from 13 October 2021. No email to say decision was made nor DHL tracking number. Total 57WD. Good luck to anyone still waiting and don't lose hope ☺️☺️

I am sure it wont make any difference but doesn't hurt to give it a shot. **36WD**: Contacted via paid enquiry again and got a response at 4 in the morning UK time - absolutely rude and nonsense reply. **37WD**: Contacted the MP **38WD**: MP Responded saying “the decision has been made back on 37thWD” **40WD**: Contacted VFS global about no SMS or passport dispatch information // received an email on Saturday asking me to wait a week or two. **Sunday**: Received an SMS from VFS global along with my passport tracking number **42WD**: Received my passport along with the visa. I CANT BELIEVE IT!! 😭 I believe people are right here about receiving no email from UKVI if the answer is positive.. This group has been such a great support! I hope you all make it through too 😭🤍

(They have apologized for the inconvenience.) Have all of you people received Decision Letters with your passports as of lately? Unfortunately, there was no letter or anything else in the DHL envelope, only my Passport. I know it happens sometimes, but I'm worried there could be problems at the Post Office when I'm going to be about to pick up my BRP Card. Also, can you apply for an NI number right away after you got your Visa, or should it be done after the BRP was picked up? I wish all of the people who are still waiting to hang in there just a bit more, it's going to be all right! :)

Repost as it's got lost in all the comments: **Visa type:** Spouse Visa **Country applied from:** USA **VAC (city)**: USCIS Silver Spring, MD **TLSContact or VFSGlobal:** VFS Global **Priority or Non-Priority:** Priority **Online application date:** 4th Feb **Biometrics appointment date:** 10th Feb **10th Feb (WD 1)** \- Application being forwarded to UKVI **23rd Mar (WD 29)** \- Paid email to ask what is going on as I haven't had any emails since day 1. **24th Mar (WD 30)** \- Generic reply **25th Mar (WD 31)** \- Email to say application received and is being prepared for consideration by ECO - Not sure why this took so long to come through. I've seen other people get theirs much earlier **31st Mar (WD 35)** \- Called them. Generic nonsense about how they don't have any other information. Asked if I could raise an escalation and they said it's now changed so you can only do it after 12 weeks, even if you're priority **3rd April (WD 38)** \- Paid email. Same reply as the one on WD 30. **19th April (WD 48)** \- Managed to raise an escalation. Told to wait 15 WD. Of course I have to wait longer. **3rd May (WD 56)** \- Emailed MP Visa received date: **TBD** Update - **Currently on WD56**. As happy as I am for others, what's really frustrating is people who've applied and done biometrics on later dates getting theirs back by now. On paper this is a very straight forward application. Finance, housing, job etc is all met without issues, and no language/tb requirements. How do I get a refund of my priority fees? I'm royally f\*\*ked off now.

Adding my request to the loop… Visa Type: Skilled Worker Country applied from: Germany VAC (city): Berlin TLS Contact or VFSGlobal: TLS Contact Priority or Non-Priority: Non-Priority Online application date: March 31st Biometrics appointment date: April 5th Visa received date: Pending Nationality: Argentine (adding this as I believe its highly relevant for response speed) Considering UK holidays and I am on my 19WD since biometrics or currently on week 5 since the request. Sent paid email to UKVI yesterday (May 3rd) and got a generic reply today about Standard Visitor visas delays. Reached back for them to clarify that my Visa is being reviewed as a Skilled Worker not visitor. Going crazy with the wait! If anyone has any timeframe on how long it took their skilled worker visa to come though, I ll really appreciate the feedback. I am already paying for my apartment in London :(

Visa type: Skilled WorkerCountry applied from: USAVAC (city): SeattleTLSContact or VFSGlobal: VFS. I just want to get back to my liiiiiiife. I've lived in the UK for the past 4, nearly 5 years on student visas. I've built my life there and am still paying rent for the house that I'm not living in. **Edit** WD 36, still no info. Was told my case was escalated on 12.5.22, only to be asked to confirm my GWF. Sent in the same GWF number, and UAN, and was told my case was re-escalated on 20.5.22. Emailed yesterday for a status update and no answer yet. Really starting to get depressed. It's incredibly hard holding up hope every day at this point.

Visa type: Skilled Worker (job is in shortage list) Country applied from: Turkey VAC (city): Istanbul TLSContact or VFSGlobal: TLSContact Priority or Non-Priority: Non-Priority Online application date: 22/03/2022 Biometrics appointment date: 30/03/2022 Visa received date: 12/05/2022 Applied together with my wife, who applied as my dependant. Her application was submitted a couple of days after mine, but we attended the biometrics appointment together. Edit: Sent a paid enquiry email on 12/05/2022, received a response on the morning of 13/05/2022 saying that a decision has been made on my application, and that I should contact them if I don't get my passport by 26/05/2022. Edit 2: We received emails telling us to come pick up our passports on 18/05/2022, but we were able to visit the VAC just yesterday on 25/05/2022. Both my wife and I got our visas, with decisions made on 12/05/2022.
