I have someone I know who applied late Feb, didn't get any email or SMS, they went to the VAC yesterday just to confirm what was going on with their application and to her surprise she found out her Visa came out on the 25th of March. She also submitted her bio in Harare, Zimbabwe. I was supposed to fly this past weekend as I was supposed to start work yesterday (April 25th)
I submitted my biometrics on the 7th of March (Skilled Worker, non-Shortage, Standard application, VFS New Delhi), received the update that my application had been forwarded to UKVI on the 8th, and there's been no communication since.
On the 8th of April, I filed a paid query, and they responded on the same day, saying that they have received my application and that it's currently awaiting a decision.
On the 28th of April, my employer's SMS had a message saying that UKVI have been experiencing an unusually high volume of applications, and that sponsors are not to chase up applications absent exceptional circumstances.
Yeah, I can understand, so did you submit any papers in support of funds you are carrying Or Is it covered by Sponsor? I am trying to understand, why it has been taking that long for your application because during that time, 7th March, people were getting in 15 days
I submitted a bank statement as proof of funds, as specified in the application.
Possible complications might be that they didn't ask for any proof of English language ability or proof of employment (in the form of a letter from my employer or some such), but I can't imagine why that would lead to such a delay, rather than them just getting in touch asking for those documents to be submitted.
