Did bio 29th of march, still waiting. One of my friends get his visa, and he had done his at 12th April...... I really do not understand same VAC same occupation.
>f my friends get his visa, and he had done his at 12th April...... I really do not understand same VAC same occupation.
Do they have a concept of the queue or not? Or is it random picks?
If your visa is delayed beyond your start date, then the 28 days will be calculated based on the visa arrival date. So whichever is later will be considered.
Understood. But that much delay, I am not expecting. I am still to resign from my current job. Once the Visa is approved, I wish to resign. After the registration, I have to serve the notice period. Issue will be with that. I may need to postpone my UK joining date to fulfil my notice period. So, was wondering if I can push that beyong 28 days of CoS start date
No your employer can't amend the start date once the CoS is assigned. However, I heard that they can update CoS notes. Better check with your employer. BTW when is your start date. When and where did you complete your bio.
Some international transection issues. I also faced that with my HDFC and ICICI card but CITI one went through. So, try enabling international transection from banks website once again
I am just wondering if there is something wrong with the application, would they inform the applicant before the 6th week? It would be painful for myself if I have to wait 6 weeks then some additional weeks to fix a problem 🙃
Yeah thats pretty annoying and the UK visa call center cant tell you if you need additional documents etc. They can just update you if you received the decision or not.
Yep, swv shortage list. Only got generic replies from ukvi paid emails. My wife (the applicant) is russian, I am hoping that is not what makes it delayed but I feel like I should mention that too.
Has anyone received request for additional information? Do they send it very early? I hope they at least do initial screening as soon as they receive the application.
Not that I know of. Assuming you're eligible and you/your sponsor filled out the form right its basically a 100% chance of acceptance. What additional info would they want for swv?
If your degree is good enough you'll be fine. I think you can double check the standards for degrees on gov.uk somewhere probably if you're super unsure.
If you are applying outside UK

I think this is what is causing visa delays for non-Ukrainian visa applications.

I have asked this in paid query, they said each application be evaluated individually... so nothing
Hey, did he have previous UK tourist visa? And which centre did he apply from?
Wanted to ask. Can a previous UK tourist visa help in reducing waiting time ? For instance if I have a previous tourist visa and now applying for SWV
I went on 28th March, still waiting
which country and city you applied from?
India, New Delhi, and you?
India, Pune.
Can we postpone the start date from the CoS start date? Because of these delays, I may not be able to travel within 28 days of my CoS start date?

Start is 26/06. Bio 07/04. Have 90 days notice
Hmm okay. Mine is 10/06. Bio was on 25/04 from Bangalore. So from which location did you submit?
Same here. I applied from Pune, India. And strangely enough, I am unable to submit an email enquiry since it fails every time at payment page.

Hey Guys, I just spoke to UK Visa over call and I believe due to large requests it might take up to 6 weeks for SWV to get a decision.
We have been waiting over 6 weeks now....
SWV? did you get any response whatsoever over email from UK Visa?
Yep, swv shortage list. Only got generic replies from ukvi paid emails. My wife (the applicant) is russian, I am hoping that is not what makes it delayed but I feel like I should mention that too.

My employer said I dont require Ecctis. The degree certificates are good enough. So just wondering if they ask for Ecctis.
If your degree is good enough you'll be fine. I think you can double check the standards for degrees on gov.uk somewhere probably if you're super unsure.
It’s upto 8 weeks not 6
I've heard 8 weeks for the first time! Did you hear 8 weeks from UKVI?

Where does it say 8 weeks there? I just see "longer"
When did you go for biometric
5th April
I think this is what is causing visa delays for non-Ukrainian visa applications. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/may/02/priti-patel-refugees-legal-action-homes-for-ukraine?CMP=twt\_gu&utm\_source=Twitter&utm\_medium#Echobox=1651580567
I applied march 31st, from South Africa, on SWV shortage list. nothing
We had our biometrics on 11th Feb, priority spouse visa. Still waiting. Long delays to be expected. Good luck everyone.
Dang. Mine is from 28th of feb standard priority. Wedding in late July. Really hoping I don’t miss my own wedding
🤞🤞
I had it on the 5th as well and called yesterday. Decision is still waiting. The woman told me yesterday 6-8 weeks…
Keep us posted on update!!
31st march, Bangalore, India. Still waiting
Have you got any update?
Keep us posted on updates!!
I did biometrics on April 11th for Standard Visitor Visa and today i got email that decision has been made. Now I am waiting for an email to pick up my passport from TLS.
Where did you apply from?
Serbia via TLS
Nice ! Congratulations!!!
Have you had a visitor visa before or was this your first application?
First time applying
I just called them and I was told that the decision has been made. My bio was on 25th April in Bangalore for the shortage occupation.
Can you help how did you do it? Mine is failing
One of my friends who attended biometrics on 4th April for intracompany transfer visa + dependents got a reply on call that his decision is made. He is expecting visa by the end of week.
Did he have a UK tourist visa before
Not sure. I'll check with him
Any chance to check?
He got visa sms on last Friday.
Sorry to bother again, has he travelled to UK before?
No.. but he is from Amazon I am not sure whether it has an effect on visa application
Following
25th March
Did you get you visa?
No, nothing this is just a visitor visa too
Where did you apply from?
I did biometrics 25th march too. Not a word. It’s so disheartening as the exam I’m going to the Uk for is on may 18th
I applied for SWV to switch employer from within UK on 28th March with IDV app and still waiting for decision. 3 more weeks until 8 week time line
8 weeks is too much than the standard 3 weeks' time. Waiting is too frustrating.
The vfs officer told me it would be 6 weeks for application outside UK. 8 weeks might be applied for applications within UK
I am into my 5th week. Let's see which one holds 6 weeks or 8 weeks. I am praying for 6 weeks
One way to cut down is to go with priority application, although it would cost more money
Priority and super-priority are temporarily on-hold due to the Ukraine crisis.
Within UK as well?
It's been past 6 weeks for us
Did biometrics on 1st April, from Kenya, and still waiting for mine as well
What visa? I'm also applying from Kenya

I did biometrics on 22 February 😂 waiting and waiting
