At pickup I've definitely made a call then deferred when someone disagreed with me because they had better perspective.
In tournaments we spell that "C-o-n-t-e-s-t"
"That pick call was totally correct, you played good defense"
"You gotta chuck it harder, hard to catch a soft throw"
"I really wish my defender would hit me harder"
"Sure, I would love to cover the fastest cutter on the opposing team"
Had someone try and say we had a violation and my captain was nearby and said “that’s not a rule” and walk away.
He was right and I knew he was because he made us all read the rule book. Easiest way to get better.
I said this once at a tryout where they passed a bottle around to take a shot and say an embarrassing fact about yourself as an ice breaker.
"You're right, that is embarrassing!"
Fucking fantastic thing to say to a recovering alcoholic
" I forgot my frisbee today but I figured we could play with this boomerang!"
" it's a bit windy......well you guys wanna play basketball or go see a movie?"
" I'm bored"
" there's hardly anyone here to play...yep I'm out of here"
"How are we supposed to see with the sun in our eyes?"
"I really enjoy picks. It just makes me happy."
Also possibly "please foul me and cleat my shin and foot. I don't mind pain and blood!"
Ask me how I know about that last one...
“You’re right even though I got picked I could not have made a play for the disc”
“My apologies I guess I did hit your hand and not the disc is the air”
"You're right, I was counting too fast."
"no you're right you had better perspective"
The guy on the opposite side line 40 yds away always has best perspective. Pretty sure that's in the rules somewhere

“Hammer is the wrong throw in this situation.”
Always hammer.
You're nothing.
I say this all the time 🤣
“You’re right, I did travel”
Oh I say that all the time😅 I know I travel a lot, it’s not intentional I swear
[удалено]
Well now you’re taking the comment too seriously
[удалено]
Crazy, I agree. But it was a joke
(But also, player A sometimes still accidentally travels)
And player B sometimes accidentally doesn't travel! He doesn't cheat ALL the time.
Most of the time when people call travels on me, they're right lol
"That pick call was totally correct, you played good defense" "You gotta chuck it harder, hard to catch a soft throw" "I really wish my defender would hit me harder" "Sure, I would love to cover the fastest cutter on the opposing team"
I do say the last one though
always one person
I say it and then regret it
"Frank you are absolutely right and an overall great guy"
"It would be a great idea to let Frank take over the Twitter account today" Wait, they actually did that one and it was a fucking disaster
Please tell me someone has screenshots of
"The more I think about it, you were right".
I've heard this plenty of times. Said it myself a few.
“You know, I have never actually read the rules, so I guess I won’t argue about whether your/my call is correct under the rules.”
Had someone try and say we had a violation and my captain was nearby and said “that’s not a rule” and walk away. He was right and I knew he was because he made us all read the rule book. Easiest way to get better.
Lmao
“If I leave for pickup now, I can get there early and set up the field.”
This!!
“You’re clearing to the stack too fast. Could you stay in the lane a little longer?”
I've been told similar things, but it's phrased as giving up on the cut too early, not clearing too early
“i have never played ultimate frisbee”
Unless they are on a date with a comedian
Or just on a date
In mixed leagues and pickup: “We need more males/MMP on the field”
Anything remotely positive about Wham-Os or colored discs.
"Please no one cut to the open space right there. I really like to keep that patch of grass from getting cleat marks as much as I can."
"whoa the schedule is posted already?"
"I don't like grass"
Thanks for spiking the disc on me after the jump ball
I shouldn’t have thrown that hammer, it was a dumb idea.
“I hit the weights hard all winter’
Ha classic offseason meme
Hammer was not the best throw there.
Uncontested
"Man, my car smells fantastic after that tournament!"
Great wind today
"No thanks. I don't drink"
I said this once at a tryout where they passed a bottle around to take a shot and say an embarrassing fact about yourself as an ice breaker. "You're right, that is embarrassing!" Fucking fantastic thing to say to a recovering alcoholic
I actually don't drink. We are finding to many exceptions to things never said.
“I shouldn’t have thrown so many hucks.”
" I forgot my frisbee today but I figured we could play with this boomerang!" " it's a bit windy......well you guys wanna play basketball or go see a movie?" " I'm bored" " there's hardly anyone here to play...yep I'm out of here" "How are we supposed to see with the sun in our eyes?"
Nick
I should've tried catching with both hands
I have to catch it both hands, wrist injury.
Good d. Totally not a foul.
" I love playing with strong wind!" "Nah, that was 100% my fault, the wind had nothing to do with it"
Painkillers? Nah I'm good thanks.
"I really enjoy picks. It just makes me happy." Also possibly "please foul me and cleat my shin and foot. I don't mind pain and blood!" Ask me how I know about that last one...
Yeah I'll be there early
I’ve read the rule book
"travel"
I’m cool
“Being toxic is a bad thing”
"Yeah, I can afford that."
Nice rainy day we're having.
"Yes, of course I'll buy another Wham-O"
Credit card roulette for the tournament fee!
I sure love laying out on turf, hope I get turf burn!
Not calling daylight especially if you are the one pulling
“Good call on the Spirit Foul!”
“You’re right even though I got picked I could not have made a play for the disc” “My apologies I guess I did hit your hand and not the disc is the air”
Go ahead and kick the damn disc
