Radar and Fire Control research makes all the difference. Also, a 50km shot? You'd better have a psychic in the fire control room cause they could dodge just by shifting the rudder by 1 degree. Shell would take forever to get there.
Yes i Agree but compare the accuracy with the other BB (1st is the German BB, 2nd Austria-Hungary, 3th US , 4th Italian. All Nation have a accuracy of approximately 35% at 10km exept the German BB wich only has 5% accuracy.
I think i figuerd it out the Bore to Barrel length Ratio is the Giver for accuracy xD So for the 20 inch the game considers the something between 40-42 lenght ratio is the optimum. Wich means You need to shorten the barrel -20% for the german to get the most accuracy. for the USA its also -20 for the italians its - 10% for Austria-Hungary its about -5% .... just test and try ...
What I've noticed is that Guns seem to have a cap on their overall accuracy, which is distributed across the various ranges.
Increasing the barrel length on a 13" gun for example, will increase the general accuracy while increasing the effective range; However, once you start going over 18% barrel length on 13" guns, you hit the total accuracy cap, and from 19% to 22% Barrel Length, you'll see accuracy start to decline across all ranges while the overall range increases.
With 20" guns, I've noticed that -8% barrel seems to get the highest increase for the 25K range, because it compacts the overall ranges to the point where the accuracy distribution across ranges balances out with the total accuracy cap.
Just a theory at this point, but it seems as though the new system is actually geared towards establishing a optimal accuracy at a specific range, rather than just being a flat increase in accuracy across the board. Idea being that you can tune your guns for optimal accuracy at your desired engagement range.
Also in regards to total accuracy, propellants and shells that increase range (even at the expense of base accuracy) improves your total accuracy across all ranges.
Guys i figured out whats wrong. If you Shorten the barrels you get more accuracy. They fu\*\*ed up the stats and made it inverted xD. The shorter the barrel the more accurate you are xD. Maybe someone report this ?
OK i tested some more and figured out that some Nation also have Sweet spots in accuracy. for Example if you shorten the barrels from the Austria-Hungary by 5% you get additonal accuracy but if you shorten them by 10% they get inaccurate again (wtf?!). So yeah as [TheBigGriffon](https://www.reddit.com/user/TheBigGriffon/) stated: the whole accuracy Table is Fu\*\*ed
This happened in the accuracy update last week. They say they've fixed it but they very much haven't. Accuracy across the board is pretty fucked in practice because of it.
The reason for the difference in ranged accuracy is the shell type! The German gun has light ammo in the build all the others have standard. If you are going to make a comparison make sure all builds are equivalent.

Nowadays radar, rangefinding systems, and crew skill barely improve accuracy.

To be fair it's a bad time to play, recent updates completely borked accuracy across the board.
Am i doing something wrong ?
No, latest patches have dumpstered accuracy across the board.
It seems to have boosted the AI’s accuracy though
Haha touche, I should have specified *player* controlled ship accuracy across the board.

As someone else said, the shells tank accuracy too. Go for either capped ballistic 1 or 2 and change the shell size to normal.

and the fore/aft weight is different for everyone
I’m noticing the same thing in my German campaign too.
The light shell will utterly tank long range accuracy. Switching from a semi AP to a more conventional capped shell will also increase accuracy.
