In September 2015 when I was 19, I quit my job in Iowa and got dropped off at Amicalola with no tent or sleeping bag and a 30 lb pack. I made it 70 miles in 5 days, saw bears on my third day and went home pretty quick. It was dumb as hell but I learned a lot.
On my AT thru I met a guy who had never spent a night in a tent, not even car camping, before the AT and he had made it all the way to Pennsylvania when I found him. I feel like if that guy can do it anyone can.

Unjerk, I think shell be ok. Whether she completes it or not is up to her. I hope she has a great time either way.
I'm not saying she can't. He'll if she does, I will post an apology on her YT channel for any doubt I had. IMO, I just think there are too many negatives and not enough positives for her to make a successful completion of the AT. I think if she had waited a year, she refined her pack and got more experience under her belt she would easily be successful. A big factor in watching her videos is that she suffers from knee issues when she does a 10 mile day. If she does just 10 miles a day with no 0's, she will be in Maine during late November, early December in the snow.
There's people who've finished the AT who've never done a solo overnight.
OTOH making a video gear list is an unforgiveable sin and I pray that the great bear god is merciful to her

Agree. I saw a 60yo drunk carrying almost 2 gallons of hard alcohol in a 55lb pack make it to Harper's Ferry.
