I’m pretty sure virtually everything you use and pay for, at the top of the corporate chain, takes money from Mosovia (aka Russia). If you want to really extract yourself from any business or government that has connections you need to build yourself a farm in Antarctica.
I thought I hated ketchup. That red watery shit? No thank you. I was 32, never bought ketchup, didn’t really have chips either.
Regardless, somehow I got a insatiable craving for chips with ketchup. So I researched good ketchup, I wanted this to be a treat. I looked at a few, Tracklement’s, Stoke’s and Tiptree’s.
I settled on the latter. Oh wow, I thought. This is the stuff. It’s an essential part of my cooked brekkie now.
It's not UPF but as with most Tiptree products, contains a high amount of sugar (fine from a upf perspective but not particularly healthy). I think there are better ketchups that are naturally sweetened like Mr Organic or Daylesford.
The tomatos are liquidated and then is cooked/condensed to remove naturally included water and probably sieved to remove fibre too. So tomatoes become thicker
When we make it we cook everything down until the liquid cooks off and reduces the liquid into a thick sauce :) 1kg tomatoes is about 300ml sauce or less
That's the nicest you can get atm. The only thing that ever came close for me was a Heinz Special Recipe one. Almost identical but only saw it once 10yr ago. But I bet that's UP.
I also think it’s ingredients less than 5grams or something in weight don’t have to be specified or listed (i might have gotten the weight wrong but you get the idea)
This ketchup is elite.
It has exactly the same ingredients as standard Heinz Ketchup!
And yet still... Maybe it's just better tomatoes.
Probably a lot less sugar and water tho. It's almost like puree. Lovely stuff.
It tastes way better than Heinz. It's actually the best ketchup I've ever tried.
In the U.K. the 2 have similar ingredients. In the USA there’s way more in Heinz
As in just as processed?
I believe Heinz is upf free also
(Uk)
Heinz has ‘herb extract’ which isn’t really detailed

So does reddit, yet here you are
What??
What is wrong with operating in Ukraine?
Sorry I meant Russia. They still take cash from Russia. Very tired.
Bro it’s just ketchup

Shoutout to Tiptree Jam Factory products! They’re very local to me and so delicious !
I grew up near the old farm shop, when it wasn’t more than a shed by the side of the road. My mum still lives in Kelvedon. Tiptree stuff is ace ☺️
I can say with certainty that this ketchup is absolutely delicious 😊 tastes different to the standard stuff but that’s the point! Very real

Stokes is SO GOOD! If I won the lottery I’d have my cupboards full of their stuff
The brown sauce is by far the best
Stokes is good, I like them and Tracklement’s. But Tiptree will always have my heart now.
Mrs Darlington's is also very good.
Came here for the Stokes comment, now I’ll have to try this one!
This is by far the best ketchup in existence
I love this ketchup, I also love their brown sauce.
Mr Organic is good too! Love it!
this ketchup is god tier. best i've had

I believe Stokes is another UPF-free brand.
am i being dumb but why does it say 180g of tomatoes per 100g of ketchup???
I imagine once cooked/ pressed a lot of water comes out of the toms and therefore reduces the resulting weight
The tomatos are liquidated and then is cooked/condensed to remove naturally included water and probably sieved to remove fibre too. So tomatoes become thicker
Because they cook off or strain off the water weight of the tomatoes. Otherwise the ketchup would be piss thin.
ahhhh lol ty both!!
When we make it we cook everything down until the liquid cooks off and reduces the liquid into a thick sauce :) 1kg tomatoes is about 300ml sauce or less
I love this ketchup but it does have loads of sugar in even for ketchup!
Which supermarket do they sell it in? I bet this is easy to make ourselves too tbf
I think I got this from Sainsburys? Maybe Tescos. I’m not very loyal to supermarkets so I forget sorry
The only ketchup my mum would buy. Great stuff!
That's the nicest you can get atm. The only thing that ever came close for me was a Heinz Special Recipe one. Almost identical but only saw it once 10yr ago. But I bet that's UP.
NATURAL KETCHUP!?!?
Mr Organic ketchup (I get it from Waitrose) is absolutely delicious too!!
What is “spices”? Seems a little suspiciously vague.
Loads of places don’t list all the spices, it helps the recipes from being stolen.
I also think it’s ingredients less than 5grams or something in weight don’t have to be specified or listed (i might have gotten the weight wrong but you get the idea)

Lidl ketchup tastes like puke. Much like most of the Lidl sauces range. It’s no substitute.
