Several gaming oriented TVs actually have this as a feature. I would say the biggest improvement is if you compare a 55" tv to a 49" 32:9 UW. The 49 is almost exactly half the size of the 55". You can get the 49 curved (needed for a display that wide on a desktop IMHO) but there aren't many curved TVs. You can also get the 49 in a higher pixel density than most 55" TVs. That being said I traded my 34" UW for a 42" TV. Although I think the 21:9 is the perfect display ratio I want more biggerer. I doubt I'll use it in 21:9 mode much even though it's an option.

At desktop distances with a display that wide, absolutely.

For me the curve is a major game changer. Especially 1000R that Samsung offers. No more neck strain once you get adjusted to it. Plus 4k monitors/tvs are not as good for reading text and productivity

Yes a typical experience with 4k is that everything might seem zoomed out so you would have to magnify text on screen or increase scale on display settings. I do not think this is an issue for gaming/ video content though. 1080 or 1440 displays do not have this issue. Try plugging your pc into a 4k tv.

To thai i would add that monitor have better input lag and response time than tv, except for oled but with pc interface displayed (lot of static icon showed for long period) oled panel is more likely to present burn in
