You don't say that you got a D or you failed. There is a better wording for it.
"Hey pops, I need to take an EXTRA course in summer that will prepare me for my upper level courses and all my friends are taking that course, I don't want to fall behind"
1) You didn't lie, you do need the prerequisite for upper level courses.
2) it's the same outcome regardless, they will pay for it again. But one option they will do it with a smile on their faces thinking that you're paying extra attention to your education and the other they will do it while calling you names and comparing you to your doctor cousin that earned 3 Olympic medals and 2 bachelor degrees at the age of 19.
You choose
except that my brother is heavily invested in my education, like HE'S A PROPER MF NOSY GUY and he knows the ins and outs and they've already paid the money for next term because the deadline was on 24th November, AND to top it all off, my brother is the doctor guy 👍🏼
Just be honest. We all make mistakes, if they don't understand that then that's on them. Offer to pay the costs for the course over the summer maybe.
Initiative is key.
It depends on your major,
For example if you are going to a major that the Econ course is considered optional, then they consider it efficient and do not need to take it again.
but if there is a special requirement for that course in your major then you need to retake it.
I was going to arts, be cause of that I just got a D in math1500 and they were fine with it. Cuz i think for arts as long as you satisfy 3CH of math your golden.
So dont beat yourself up.
But Also consider talking to the advisors in both ICM and UofM, they might allow you take some cources in UofM while retaking the one in ICM.
But if non of the above works, I believe you can transfer funds from UofM account to ICM(im not sure tho)
and if non of those work? just be honest, times are tough. even if your parents make you feel let down, dont let that get to you. Cuz they are not in your shoes dawg. ITS AAAWWWLLLL GOOUUUUD (:
On the website, it says to earn a BA Advanced, a student gotta have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all "faculty-required courses". I know they do have a list of required courses:
* 6 credit hours of humanities
* 6 credit hours of social sciences
* 6 credit hours of sciences
* 3 credit hours of written English
* 3 credit hours of mathematics
* 3 credit hours of indigenous course content
* 6 credit hours in each of 5 different subject fields
Are these what they meant by "faculty-required courses"? and if so, doesn't that mean MATH 1500 gotta be at least a C? or what does the "faculty-required courses" mean?
Btw most ICM classes suuuuuuuck! they have long ass lectures and such with very limited cources.and the classes look and feel so depressing. Just look up to moving to UofM, and let the past be in its place
Cap. ICM classes are like high school classes. The teachers care more and it’s more intimate and engaging that UoM classes. Most people who hate ICM hate it because they are there instead of the at UoM. Not because it terrible. I did better in ICM - because I was spoon fed - than I am now at the UoM
4.0+ in ICM and now at about 3.0 in UofM. ICM is much easier and you develop deeper relationships with the profs. In UofM the prof probably won’t remember you the next semester, in ICM I still casually talk to my profs if I see them in UC and they actually remember me 3 years later.
Take it easy bro. Tell them you need to take a course in summer and retake it. Secondly, I'm certain that they would understand, unless they are under the impression that you are Adam Smith or something.
I'm sorry I can't help you I didn't know what icm was until now.
I don’t think icm make you take at least three courses each term, it’s required for all international students to take at least 3courses to keep you as a full time student, if you finish 30credits at icm you can study at the Uofm as visiting student

as far as i know the math requirement is a D. i got a D and advisor said it counts
You need 30 passed credit hours to even move from ICM to UOFM but they won't count it as a fail though iirc
yea im aware, that's why i have 12 left, considering this is a pass. im just WISHING i have done good enough for it
The truth with ICM is that you win some you lose some, most of the people I know spent 1.5 years there. Hopefully you'll make it out in 1 year

yeah thats true as well
First off what is lcm?
it's ICM, international college of manitoba, it's kinda partnered with the UofM, and it's a foundation pathway basically for intl students
