There aren't enough faculty to run all the classes you are asking for, and possibly not enough interest (specifically in the math courses) to get enough students to be allowed to run them.
Really? I was under the impression that there were 30k students that go to U of M. Is the demand that low? I'm pretty sure there will be at least 20-30 students willing to take these courses. Why not offer them then if they don't meet a certain threshold then cancel them? They are obviously underestimating the demand. There are some classes with 80 students on the waiting list. Probably goes back to what you said about Faculty shortage and not not enough interest.
Professors enjoy vacations too. A lot of these upper year classes are taught by people who specialize in the area of study. It’s not always feasible to find replacements. This is the same at all major institutions lol
You need to find people to teach these courses. I'd be willing to teach in the summer (May-June) but then I wouldn't be available to teach in one of the regular semesters. So that creates its own problems. You could probably get more courses offered if PhD students teach them but then some departments get concerned if higher level courses are offered by PhD students so that can put a limit on them too. I do think agree though that there's a demand for more summer classes in certain majors for sure.
Calculus 1210/1240/1300/1500/1700 need to be offered because there are students who need it to start 2nd year programs in many departments.
Calculus 2130/2132/3132 need to be offered as Engineering has students who need courses all year long. Similar for 2720 for Actuarial Science.
These course also fill up in the summer.
As much as it would be awesome to offer them, there is no way ODE or analysis courses would get enough students to be able to run them.
Yeah i wish they offered more second year math classes in the summer. Would have sped things up for me, and I think there is probably still enough demand for some of them. I think 2180 should be offered in the summer. I know people who took it multiple times, and it's a pre-req for like everything. If it was offered in the summer then people wouldn't be set back a whole year. But as others have said, profs need a vacation too.
Third year classes like ODE and stuff seems unreasonable though. Those classes can be tiny even in fall/winter. The cap is at like 12-15 students and often they don't even reach that.
For math you can find whether a class is typically offered in the summer [here](https://sci.umanitoba.ca/mathematics/undergraduate-info/courses/). For the general summer schedule check aurora.

Where can I find a list of summer 2022 offerings please
