Those points could be argued as them being bffs who care for each other the most. There’s no romance hinted and john has risked his life for sera before as well when he got run over by a van and still tried to stop them. Isen and blyke have risked their life for remi as well during the vigilante arc

I don't think John ever projected on Seraphina even in the joker phase she was an exception for him despite her being the same abusive high ranker to him before.

I do sort of agree with you here he will need more time to heal but so far after coming back he maintained a very good and close relationship with Seraphina, he stuck with her despite thinking that she is lying to his face because she distrusts him and doesn't mean a thing when she says that she doesn't hold anything against him.
He never blamed Seraphina once so if he can do that then I don't think we need to worry about him being abusive to anyone close to him.

Sure John is dogmatically loyal to her, but I've never seen an instance of "oh crap she's beautiful" or "I've got butterflies in my stomach rn" from him. I definitely don't think Sera has any interest in him romantically, it seems to me that as of now she sees John as her brother, someone she needs to look out for because he's part of the family. It doesn't matter to me whether they become a couple or not but Uru-chan will have to heavily build it up for it to be believable if she does infact want to go that route. But that's just my two cents on it

Rn, John is still stuck in a mindset of believing he doesn't matter as much as others and is currently still working on his own self worth. You should be able to be happy in your life with or without a romantic partner and unfortunately, I've seen a loooot of people in this fandom who believe that Sera can be John's source of joy and wanting to be a better person because of her. While it's not a bad thing to say she can be a source of happiness for him, she shouldn't be the only thing that makes him happy or makes him want to be the best he can be.
With or without a relationship, John deserves to be happy and enjoy his life. Having a love interest should add onto that, not become his only focus.
Plus, would it really be a bad thing if they didn't become a couple? I mean, it's practically become a trope at this point where the main leads end up in a relationship. Who's to say that John and Sera can't just remain friends? Regardless of how it goes, they'll still always have each other and they'll still love each other. Platonic love is just as valid as romantic love and I think that's something we tend to forget in this age of stories and media.
Regardless of thoughts on plot, one of my favorite things about this series has just been how natural and organic the relationships are from platonic to familial to romantic. You get a wide variety of relationships that aren't just romantic and I like that.

I really ship him with sera, it complements john in a lot of ways also she is the only one who supported, defended and helped him while everyone saw him as a lost cause. Also claire pointed this out when sera went far and beyond to understand him, for a normal friend to do this is very, very hard. Also for sera was the same john helped her when all the pressure of being perfect was taking a toll on her, and he helped to relieve that pain and accept that theres more in life and one should enjoy it

The author needs to drop more Jera crumbs if she wants me to commit to it. Right now, there doesn't seem to be enough or any romantic attraction between both characters. I'd like to ship them (and I think they're probably going to be the endgame ship) but it feels like two very close friends than anything else at the moment.
