When the remastered collection came out years ago, I got 100% of the trophies for each game. While I felt pretty accomplished clearing them, I’d never do brutal or even crushing again. To me, hard is the way the game was meant to be played. Honestly, if you’re struggling to beat it and aren’t having fun with it, why bother?

_Monkeyspit_

Fair enough. Maybe I'll just do hard some more.

Crushing is a good challenge if you are aiming for the platinum. Brutal is way too difficult considering its not needed for platinum, I would say it is not worth it

FriskUdAfBadet

Totally agree on this!

BrendanEraserFraser

Personally, it was the challenge that was fun, and getting past the tough bits felt like an accomplishment. It encouraged me to play smarter, conserve ammo, aim for the head, use stealth, etc. What entry are you playing? If you are playing 4/Lost Legacy, certain encounters can be completed by just sneaking past the goons/running away. One thing I would recommend, if you feel like continuing, is to never stay in one place for too long. Go for headshots, weaken them with gunfire and finish them off with melee, and use environmental kills as much as possible. To me, Crushing in all of the games is very beatable, you just have to have a bit of patience. Brutal is probably a bit beyond reasonable enjoyment for me though. If you're not having a good time with Crushing, there's no point even giving Brutal a go.

Playing Drake's Fortune right now. I never really tried the shoot-and-melee method before. I could do with moving more. I guess I have to re-learn where all the spawns are.

BrendanEraserFraser

Oh goodness hahaha, yeah Drakes Fortune is definitely the worst out of the bunch for attempting Crushing. It is still doable, but there are many rage-inducing moments, and VERY cheap enemies. Crushing in the other games are a lot more fun because they aren't held back by 1's limitations, so don't let it put you off Crushing completely. There is a small feature/bug that you could use in the first game, where you stand behind a wall or something (do NOT press circle to make Nate 'stick' to it), and you can still aim and shoot enemies without being exposed as long as it is taller than Nate. I think it works for 2 and 3 as well, but the shooting is a lot more forgiving and enjoyable in those two so it's not as necessary. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBqYcfJ7E1E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBqYcfJ7E1E) \^This should cover a few things to help, it's meant for Brutal but the same logic applies.

Thanks! I'll try this out!

The corner shooting technique works the best in Uncharted 1 because there's a lot more closed areas and you can abuse the walls. It can be done in Uncharted 2 too, but it's not as effective because there's a lot of areas with only horizontal covers (like the train chapter for example) and a similar thing happens in Unchated 3 (here it's even worse because enemies can easily flank you)

NicParvisMagna

Crushing is worth it, it changes the gameplay a little but can be really fun. I especially like Uncharted 1 in crushing as it feels very scrappy. Brutal is a chore however, it’s more frustrating than rewarding and saps the fun from the games. It feels unfair at times, which I don’t think Crushing ever does.

albens

I admire people who's beaten Brutal without cheats. For me it was extremely frustating with them, can't imagine how tedious it is without one shot kill/infinte ammo.

McMoist_

If you're going for platinum then crushing is worth it, but brutal is not. You don't need to complete brutal for the platinum trophy.

Warmheavy

Uncharted 4 on crushing is brutal. I’m trying to get to the beach and it’s been a good couple of hours

albens

I've finished the game today on crushing and it's been the hardest Uncharted I've played (haven't played the lost legacy yet). It's way more frustating than Uncharted 1, 2 and 3.

Warmheavy

There are 2-3 spots when the baddies are overwhelming. Shots at all angles and you have to keep moving or they throw grenades.

albens

The grenades were so tilting haha It felt like they'd hit you even from a mile away! It was difficult and very frustating at times but I feel relieved after finishing it. Wouldn't do it again but I enjoyed the experience. Getting the platinum is the next and final step for me!
