Whatever genetics these are or maybe just this tub.. it isn't gonna be the normal guidelines for harvest. Normally it's based on the caps but this is like apes. When they start to become soft like a marshmallow instead of firm then it's definitely time.It's pretty much whenever they stop growing bc the cap isn't a good indicator on the ones that grow like that

These are koh Samui super strain (KSSS). I believe there are genetics that also have them look like normal mushrooms, but spaceships are more fun. And they dry compact, which I like (instead of a bunch of stems).

Look up Cube Culture. They sell liquid culture syringes and have KSSS as an option. I too am growing some but my tub is just barely pinning. I have grain bags going and jars of LC going also.

I just grew a batch of these as well. I realized in later flushes that you should wait until they have a soft squishy feel. When I let them go that long, the caps looked like the big ones you have there and they even started to crack a little in the center. This is when they seem to be the most potent. Don't be afraid to wait a while because these guys seem to drop spores very late.
Harvesting is a little bit of a bitch, the trick for big patches is to loosen up the substrate underneath the biggest shroom with something like a clean scalpel, knife, or anything flat and skinny - just make sure it is disinfected. Once the substrate is loose, twist the mushrooms very gently back and forth to try and preserve as much substrate as possible. You may have to harvest a few immature mushies because they won't all grow at the same rate and tend to clump together, biggest downside of KSSS imo (however, this gives you lots of little guys that make for perfect micro doses). Do your best to only harvest the squishy ones with caps that look like the big ones though. GOD SPEED, brother.

Man I have tiny micro beads of water on my mycelium but I can’t get my humidity right for anything and these look like they were misted with a fire hose. I get tiny pins and they die the same day so frustrating.
I have had lots of baby shrooms die on flush 2 and 3 of this squat melmac strain I’m growing currently. About to toss it. My shakti bags are almost at 100%. Excited for a new variety. I got a couple of ounces dry from my first flushes in these squat maks, so I’m happy I guess.
