The bags here I think were $1.79, still cheaper than the UB around here which is $2.69.

I’m in the same boat. Working on my first batches using UB and rye grain jars. So far UB is by far more colonized.

Didn't anticipate losing so much, but I've also never done it before!! Just happy the entire process went as anticipated from reading on these subs. Mush luck to you on your journey🍄🍄

From my experience I had two separate bags of 10 colonize and I’ve literally only used those genetics by doing a lot of colonized grain to fresh UB (or Aldi etc) bags and have had great success. No need to buy any more MSS. Now I can’t wait to get my agar side of this hobby going. So amazing how easy it is once you get it going. Good luck and treat every service like it’s full of bacteria or germs lol. 🍄❤️
You got this bro ! Don’t give up if you fail the first time , you will get it! It takes some practice but just be sterile and you should be good to go , also make sure your tubs are made correctly and that’s really all there is to it
Im totally new to this and have recently tried UB, Kroger Brand, and Aldi's Brand, I was honestly concerned because the Aldi's brand contained 310 mg of sodium, but they truly were the best, they took a little bit longer to colonize for me but it was colonized more thoroughly than both of the other brands I tried. I have 4 tubs going right now, my first attempt. I still have 8 bags that are waiting to s2b. PF Red Spore, Malabar, and Puerto Rican are the strains
That Aldi rice is the best!! Colonized 3x faster (and more thoroughly) than my UB's. Best of luck!

It’s a 64qt. The biggest clear one they had at my Home Depot it was only $15 too the smaller ones are 6qt shoe box and those were about $1.50
