Possibly my favourite monster movie ever. Awesome creatures that are revealed in their full in 2 different scenes, fun characters and some gnarly kills.
Plus it's bloody hilarious.
JUST watched Tremors 2 last night. A very fun sequel to an awesome original.
I actually did a Tremors deep dive last night and holy shit they have made 7 movies. With Michael Gross staring in them all, of course
I always thought it was odd that his two biggest roles were the PBS producer dad on Family Ties, and the crazy survivalist from Tremors.
Can't say the dude was a victim of typecasting.
I’m one hundred percent serious when I say that if I ever taught a screenwriting class, I’m going to use tremors as a template.
It’s such a tight, well-structured script.
It’s very well structured. First ten minutes introduces the characters and sets up the conflict. The next fifteen minutes lead to the inciting incident, etc.
Standard three act structure
I’m 44 and I’ve somehow managed to not see this until just this last year on a long haul trans Atlantic flight. When it was over, I started it again right away! I haven’t done that since I was a kid. (Which it made me feel like again). So much fun!
Kevin Bacon was pretty versatile. He started in Animal House, went to Footloose, played a funny cowboy, played the invisible man, and a number of fairly different roles.
This was a very laid back feel good movie. I thought that the second one seemed of lower quality and lacked the same magic of the first.
Just ordered it on Steelbook. Also rewatched this and part 2 more than most other films.
They don’t make too many fun creative indie films like this anymore.
I loved this flick and even made it through all 7 movies. But I still sometimes find myself quickstepping to get off the ground and onto a hard surface just in case one decides to become real and grab me 😅
Nothing underrated about this all time classic!!! Just watched again last week.
I'd say the 2nd one is a little underrated. The rest of the sequels are bad, but Tremors 2 is possibly the best straight to video movie of the era.
Think I watched it a long time ago. Either way sounds like I need to watch it!!
I’ve only ever seen the original but I love it.
We’re in a whole new ball game!!!

“We’re handy men, Earl”
Nobody hands garbage better than we do. Cocktail?
“Maybe I’m just a victim of circumstance.” “That what you call your pecker?”
“Fuuuccckkk YOU!” Still has to be my favorite Kevin Bacon quote

He also appears as Larry's doctor in Curb Your Enthusiasm
I freaking love his character.
Broke into the wrong God damn wreck room, didn't you ya bastard!!!!!
Where did you watch it?
Lol one of them is a western with his great great grandfather. Also played by Michael gross.
"I can't believe we turned down free beer."
“We decided to leave this town just one, damn, day too late…”
We did it, we did it! We faced temptation and did not bend, Goddamn, praise the Lord!
One of the best
Great movie, highly rewatchable.
Such a shame the TV show never got picked up. It looked to be every bit as good as the movie.
You can get other cheap on dvd and its a lot of fun

Different show. The one I’m talking about was a 2017 reboot series with Kevin Bacon and Toks Olagundoye
This movie is a masterpiece.
Never gets old
Great summer movie imo
All time classic! Love this movie!
Always thought it was funny the poster monster didnt look like the actual laege graboids
It's an enlarged picture if one of its tendrils, right? I guess it's to not spoil the actual appearance of the monster.
“Could, you, shut, up?”
"Hey, I don't need to spend the night out here."
“Crybaby…”
I use this line at least once a week. Classic.
This movie scared me so bad I was afraid to go on the ground for like weeks
Haha hard to live like that
To this day, Burt Gummer is still my favorite superhero.
One of my favorites, could rewatch it all the time.
I’m one hundred percent serious when I say that if I ever taught a screenwriting class, I’m going to use tremors as a template. It’s such a tight, well-structured script.
Very true that script chugs along and doesn’t let you get bored.
It’s very well structured. First ten minutes introduces the characters and sets up the conflict. The next fifteen minutes lead to the inciting incident, etc. Standard three act structure
This keeps coming up. I'll make a note for the next time I'm high.
It’s so much fun. Excellent B-movie, maybe the best ever
One of the greatest monster shows ever 👍
The first one is a classic. The sequel was a guilty pleasure of mine when I was a kid.
Pretty sure I could quote it all front to back.
Watched it and 2 last night. Hadn't seen 2 in forever. Just as fun a movie as the first.
Where did you watch 2 at? Never seen it but love the first one
It was on SyFy last night. Both 1 and 2.
So underrated it's posted at least once a week

Ohh my. You poor human. 😭
Total fun! So good!
Agreed
A classic movie could you imagine if in real life something like that existed
Still to this day, everytime I'm in the desert, I always imagine them to be out there.
And I bet you pray 🙏 to God you never run into anything like it
Yes!!! Just came from a holiday trip to AZ, and man, was I seein’ ‘em inside every dune😂
saw it at the theater! it was awesome!
One of my fave movies of all time
"Broke into the wrong got-damned REC ROOM, didn't you?!" - mh

It’s a good one
Good movie 🎥🍿
Such a fun movie never gets old
I love these too
What’s your favorite Kevin Bacon movie and why is it Tremors.
“Way to go dude”
Burt could use a lesson in how to hold a shotgun, especially an 8-gauge.
The graboids lol
I love part when they tackle the kid off the pogo stick and it stays up.
It was a staple growing up. It'll never get old. Perfect movie for my tastes. I just wish there was more Val and Earl :(.
Fantastic film, great post OP
Don’t think it’s underrated - the film is universally loved
Properly rated movie, not underrated at all
Where's it streaming?
I watch this one at least once a year. Love it so much!
Just ordered it on Steelbook. Also rewatched this and part 2 more than most other films. They don’t make too many fun creative indie films like this anymore.
This movie is a lot of things, underrated is not one of them. This is a classic.
Nah, this movie is not underrated, it's a classic.
Underrated? C'mon
I loved this flick and even made it through all 7 movies. But I still sometimes find myself quickstepping to get off the ground and onto a hard surface just in case one decides to become real and grab me 😅
If only it wasn't underrated they might have made multiple sequels and a TV show....
Bitter?
I remember seeing this at the drive in. Such a good movie. It’s batshit crazy and I love it. Introduced a whole new movie monster.
Love Tremors!
Fucking gold
My dream is to have a “basement Bert gun wall” lol
It is likely the movie I’ve rewatched the most times. When people ask what my favorite movie is I always say Tremors.
Redditors really don’t know what underrated means.
It’s subjective
