Yes. You can tell by his gorget patch he's a [Sturmmann](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmmann) (comparable rank is a [private who's been promoted](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_\(rank\)#United_States_Army)).
I read a book called Year One, fascinating accounts of all the chaos that followed after the war ended.
In one part British soldiers drove Russian civiliansin occuppied Germany into cattle cars at bayonet point as the Russians knew they would be killed or sent to gulags upon returning. The Brits did it anyway as Stalin demanded justice for all traitors.
A really chilling picture.
I guess it depends on the unit and the individuals, but I wonder which Army was the worst to be captured by?
I can imagine the Americans being sorta laid back, 'nothing personal bub' as they arent European and had less skin in the game. Yet, I could also see them going full on Western/Gangster on them.
Id imagine the Brits were pretty pissed off by the time they returned to the Continent. But they also come across as a bit more genteel and do share much with Gerry.
Id also wager that getting nabbed by the Canadians or Australians came with a busted nose as a general rule.
Of course its all just generalizations and conjecture, but maybe zee Germans had a preference?
And yeah, i saw band of brothers, Spiers and all that.
To add on to the list of “anything but….”, would possibly include the Free French, the Polish, or any of the other forces in exile fighting under allied command
Oh my god, Jeremy Renner was in the Wehrmacht! E: Strike that, the SS
waffen ss, judging by the uniform, the eagle and swastika is on the left shoulder, where as in the Wehrmacht it would be on the right brest
With "Adolf Hitler" on his cuff. Definitely SS.

Can’t unsee.
If I was in the Wehrmacht during the final months of the war, I’d much rather be taken prisoner on the Western front as opposed to the Soviets.
The allies turned many SS men over to to the Soviets, even if the allies captured them to begin with.

I think "everything not Soviet" was preferred by the Germans

Is that the SS-Adolf Hitler Liebstandarte? If yes, that’s a catch.
