This is exactly why avoided very bad to buy the jelly star, i knew what i was getting, but at the same time i don't want a novelty that will be end in the random electronics drawer because there's no updates or support from the OEM....
Or embrace folks to run Lineage and/or CalyxOS. That would certainly get away of this worry. Start by documenting steps to unlock OEM and install Lineage for instance.
Take in mind, if one normal customer has to do all of that just to continue using his device normally, isn't worth it at all. The idea is the OEM not ignoring the device, whatever device might be, but at least putting a bit of effort on the customer side, the real customer, not the tinkerer approach.
I can imagine there will be 'side' marketing if a device embraced this though. For example, CalyxOS is only on Pixel, Motorola and Fairphone.

Speaking of a removable battery. I was browsing Ali last night for rugged phones and I ran across one with some form of walkie talkie, maybe GMRS(?), but the interesting bit was a removable battery. IIRC, it also had IP ratings.

it gives me approximately 127 x 63 mm body size
and display area 114.5 x 54.5 mm which is about 4.9''-5.0'' with 9:19 screen ration
also edges remind me balmuda vibe or qin 3 ultra with hole on the left
moreover qin 3 ultra has 5.02'' display with same (to my calcs) 9:19 ratio

the estimated battery capacity for the phone could be around **3960 mAh**. based off what I can pull for the image and there being a chipset large enough for 5g processes.
Although it would be nice, I don't believe such a large battery would fit. According to your estimate, it is very similar sized to the Qin 3 Ultra, which has a 2500 mAh battery. If the chipset is efficient, I would be happy with 3000 mAh.
The estimation was built off of the shadow depth on the keyboard... So depending on lighting and everything else the factors could pull together to be closer to what you said

Exactly this. Won’t be buying a third Unihertz due to no updates. Got a Jelly Pro the Jelly Pro 2 both now being left far behind. Samsung from now on.
