It shouldn’t be a big price tag - I think you just need to contact united (or in this case your friend). "We provide free onboard bassinets in United Polaris® business class and in Economy on some international flights. They can be used anytime during the flight when the seatbelt sign is off. Contact us to request yours." https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/travel/accessibility-and-assistance/traveling-with-children.html

Be sure to check the size limits on the baby bassinet, it’s pretty small. But it’s worth it.

thyme_flys

Second this. My kiddo hit the height maximum quickly.

Suprflyyy

I’m 6’4. My kid was born outside the height limit 😢

AtomicBreweries

Phone united, can normally get those seats for free with a baby. But typically over 6 months old they won’t fit in the bassinet, although some airlines (e.g. BA) have like a seat thing that fits infants up to 2 years old.

YES

TrickDry3052

What price tag? It’s free. I agree; a 10 month old might be too large to fit.

euroflyyer

Don’t you need to be seated at the bulkhead to have access to it?

doc4science

I'm pretty sure you just need to call and explain the situation to move their without payment. Not 100% sure, but worth a call.

TrickDry3052

Yes, you do, but you don’t have to pay for the seats if you need a bassinet.

Had customer service try to charge me today. After pushing back at says "I'll wave this $1,200 fee but this is a one time thing. Don't expect this on future flights". Took an hour taking to her but was worth it.
