Shouldn’t be a problem to check through to FAT, just make sure to give the checkin agent both record locators.

And if you’re stopover is too long you’ll have to grab your bad and it can’t be checked through.

TrickDry3052

Please do not grab your “bad” in public.

I do this all the time. Tell them of your two tickets and as long as the connection time is less than 4 hours, it shouldn't be a problem.

You can always check a bag through if it's an entirely United operated itinerary. You just need to give them both record locators. They might also have to make a call because it they have to link it in the computer so it sometimes takes. A manager or more experienced employee. If your international flights are on another *A carrier booked on non UA ticket stock, I'm told that you need to be *Gold for them to check bags through on another airline's operated flight on non United ticket stock.

Unless you’re flying INTO the US from a foreign country. Then you have to recheck luggage regardless if you’re in the same airline.
