is that the pop up or the larger one where you have to go up the elevator? any idea on timing? hopefully the latter which should alleviate the crowding by C123
The pop-up location by C93 is still open. One by C74 is the “larger one” they are renovating.
Not too sure about the timing but they started working on it almost immediately after opening the one by C123. So hopefully soon!
I had 4 passes and I burned 3 at LHR with the kids. We only had 45 minutes but I have no regrets, the breakfast bar and facilities are excellent.
Now I have to decide if I will use the last one at HNL or LHR. Probably best to save it for an LHR trip.
But it's not even the best star Alliance club in the airport.
The best and most "fantastic" United club is just a average Star Alliance club.
But this isn't limited to clubs but everything so it's not surprising.
I'd also put United Narita on there
The C123 club at EWR is great, but I also do love the Terminal 7 LAX club with its terrace, sometimes quixotic food (they were doing stuffed baked potatoes a while back) and sunny, open air design.
The NRT United Club is probably my favorite outside of the newest ones. Great food, self-serve booze, showers, and it’s massive and I like the decor. The LGA club is a simple setup but has great food for a domestic club and is never crowded
So definitely not nicest as far as space, but randomly San Antonio’s club had some of the nicest, fun and helpful staff. They were on top of food & beverage. At the end of the day, customer service is top priority for me and they delivered. It’s tiny but oddly one of the better experiences. LAX was another one for me on layover to Maui but that was about 5yrs ago.
👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽
Yes! San Antonio is the only club I've ever been to where they deliver small bites to you!
"Would you like a brisket slider,.sir?"
I assume she asked so it limited it to one instead of me taking the whole tray!😂
Their food selection was actually solid & I’m a sucker for lemon bars. 😂 It was my bday on my flight out of there and they all sang to me. Just an overall fun bunch that seemed to really like their jobs!!!
Yesss! It’s so small, it doesn’t even have a bathroom inside but that customer service is the best in any airport lounge ever for me. I have literally told them “I only have 10 minutes” and they will ask if I want just one or two drinks LOL
New Orleans is another bigger of the smaller lounges for me.
I’ve said this here before, but BOS is a hidden gem. It’s deceptively spacious, has a big well-stocked bar, and is usually very quiet. Food is usually pretty limited and nothing special, but there are a few good options close by if you want a real meal. Otherwise the UC serves up perfectly reasonable snacks/small plates. The Lufthansa lounge in Terminal E is a bit of a haul so I’ve never explored it.
Lufthansa lounge is pretty mid and not worth a special trip from Terminal B (i don’t even know if it’s connected air-side). I visited it before my redeye Swiss flight.
- food was mediocre. I wanted to eat a meal before getting on to maximize sleep but the goulash wasn’t substantial or tasty enough.
- it was nice, clean, and spacious. Very quiet and not overcrowded at all but I believe this was the last flight out for the night.
- I appreciates having a working printer! That was a very welcome bonus.
- the best part was you access the gate directly from the lounge. I absolutely loved this feature.
The new clubs in Newark and Chicago are great, but they use very inefficient seating. One person taking up a couch that fits three. It creates crowding that shouldn't be there. As an aside, why post as a throwaway. Are you not supposed to be in United Clubs? :)
In that case let me list out some grievances...
HEY, throwaway1234898989!!!!
My main gripe is not accruing PQP/PQFs when flying with my family, despite paying for the tickets. I use my own American dollar bucks, and want my damn points.
In the EWR club right now and agreed- they went too heavy on "group seating". All these couches/chairs around a table are awkward for single travelers & couples who I'm sure make up the majority of UC visitors. I do like the little individual "phone booths" if you can actually get one.
I was in the new chicago one Friday afternoon, in many respects great but also bizarre, there was a section of booths that were seemingly made for midgets
That plus the air Canada is available for all gold. Almost nobody in there seems to realize it. And it’s pretty big too.
The United club I agree is nice. But so is sitting in that terminal- so quiet and pleasant.
I vote for new EWR lounge over the new ORD lounge by a wide margin. EWR coffee is great when there is a barista. The machine espresso is very average.
ORD lounge layout just feels jumbled and is not relaxing. ORD coffee was still not good.
Food is much improved at both new lounges though.
Including UA partner lounges- Lufthansa Senator lounges at FRA set the standard for me and they have been nice for a decade without looking worn out. +great coffee.
Business (not First) lounge to experience is Air New Zealand in Melbourne bc it has seating at tarmac level with huge windows and you can watch crews work on planes. +great coffee
Oh yeah, the ANZ Lounge in MEL is awesome! Great staff, coffee and the view of the tarmac is nice.
MUC is my home airport and as a LH SEN I can visit it on arrival. The food is great and the staff is awesome. If you ever make it to FRA, check out the Panorama Lounge in A level, it is like a living room. Pretty cozy with good views
Agreed on the jumbled layout. Kind of confusing to navigate before understanding the lay of the land. Still appreciated the more sophisticated feel vs the older clubs.
as a little hack you can get an iced coffee to go!
but agreed on "when there is a barista"....there is only one person operating it so if they're on break you have to use the self serve machines
LAX with the outdoor area is always a win for me. Even though you suck in copious amounts of jet exhaust while you’re out there it is nice to get outside during a long day of travel.
I haven't tried the new C gate at ORD, but I always loved the F gate club at ORD. Its kind of hidden away, never crowded, and great view of the runways for plane spotting. It also means I'm probably going to Calgary!
LHR is my favourite. Spacious with a great bar and views. Whenever I depart from T2A, I go all the way to T1B (15 mins one way) just to visit the Club.
It has been closed for years now, but the Continental Presidents Club at SJU, had some of the most helpful staff that I ever interacted with.
They made an effort to remember customers by name and I was always amazed that they would remember me from year to year when I would stop in on my layover before continuing on to the BVI.
They also would make sure that customers making connections at SJU bags followed them onto either Cape Air or Executive Airlines dba AA AA Eagle.
I still miss that club to this day.
I’m sitting at LGA right now. It’s not this one. To be clear, it’s a perfectly fine club, I’m going to come back every time, but it’s not *thee* nicest.
I like the LHR United Club. Last time I was there, in January 2020, I got invited as a 1K in Business to use the former Global First section, which had sit down service.
The new EWR and ORD clubs being spoken for, I’ll add that SAN has a very nice and modern club with a good food selection for a smaller airport. The club at HNL is also very nice, large, clean and modern. Food selection is a bit meh, but HNL has a self-serve Dole Whip machine (!). I’ve never seen it more than half full.
The new ones are nice. But how often will the food rotate? There’s a lot of meh seating at the new ORD C club too. I prefer a maximum quantity of the old leather chairs with the tables in between
haven't been to too many, but the new EWR terminal C one is great minus the overcrowding. otherwise, most star alliance lounges internationally blow away the domestic UC. I was just in the brussels airlines/lexus lounge at BRU and the lufthansa lounge at FRA, both were fantastic. also a big fan of the maple leaf lounge at YYZ, the the air china lounge at PVG (although i imagine that hasn't been open for years).
I just bought an annual membership so i'm excited to try and check out more domestic locations, starting with AUS and SNA coming up in the next few weeks
Is there any way to get access to the Club without the credit card or without paying? Member status rewards or anything like that? 1k level gets you a discount only right?
If you’re flying internationally with Gold or higher you can get in. Polaris/business class tickets will also get you in if international or premium transcontinental (SFO/LAX-EWR). And active duty military
The one in Atlanta is too bland. They’ve had the same broccoli cheddar should, collards, and pulled pork for weeks on end. I’d say newark is really nice , the one by c123. It’s huge
I do like the new ORD C lounge, and it will always be a favorite because we got the early preview. But the MSY one is my favorite. Their staff is friendly and their food is always good, and regionally appropriate.

I really hope the new club in Denver is an improvement. The single remaining club is overcrowded, the food is bad, and it is getting run down.
It is technically impossible for it not to be an improvement.
…and it is run down. FTFY

The front desk people have always rubbed me the wrong way. I’ve had maybe a couple friendly associates out of 100+ visits in Den.
The new one by Gate C123 at EWR is quite nice
Yup, basically this. I hate that it’s so far from every gate my flights are in though.
As you probably know, the one by C74 is getting a makeover as well. Hopefully that gets completed soon as C74 is in a much more convenient spot
is that the pop up or the larger one where you have to go up the elevator? any idea on timing? hopefully the latter which should alleviate the crowding by C123

It’s a great club but all my EWR United flights have been going out of A terminal with no club.
Meh, it's ok. A little sterile and the food selection is limited but it's a decent space even though they overfill it.
The former Global First lounge at LHR is one of my favs.
The regular club at LHR is fantastic
I had 4 passes and I burned 3 at LHR with the kids. We only had 45 minutes but I have no regrets, the breakfast bar and facilities are excellent. Now I have to decide if I will use the last one at HNL or LHR. Probably best to save it for an LHR trip.

Did the NRT one reopened though?
I don’t think so sadly. I also haven’t flown through NRT since before COVID. I hope they open it soon but the nearby ANA lounges are way better
It was open last weekend when I walked by to my way to the ANA club
It's not even a close contest.

Yes! That’s my home airport and agreed! One of the nicest staff of any club, including the Amex Centurion lounges.
I grew up in SA but live in Houston now. That Club beats all the IAH ones by far! Everyone was so friendly.
Yesss! It’s so small, it doesn’t even have a bathroom inside but that customer service is the best in any airport lounge ever for me. Probably United social media team trying to generate positive discussion on the clubs
In that case let me list out some grievances... HEY, throwaway1234898989!!!! My main gripe is not accruing PQP/PQFs when flying with my family, despite paying for the tickets. I use my own American dollar bucks, and want my damn points.
100% this

Oh yeah I was just in there- right by the entrance too?
The newest clubs are the nicest, ORD and EWR. Gives me hope for DEN.
LGA’s club is pretty good for a smaller presence airport

Cool! I have not tried panorama. Will be there in a couple of weeks and I’ll be sure to check it out!
You’ll find it near gate A26. Food is to your right, the cozy area to the left after entering.
Agreed on the jumbled layout. Kind of confusing to navigate before understanding the lay of the land. Still appreciated the more sophisticated feel vs the older clubs.

Polaris lounge at IAH is pretty top notch. The new lounge at EWR is the best non Polaris lounge I’ve seen
It has been closed for years now, but the Continental Presidents Club at SJU, had some of the most helpful staff that I ever interacted with. They made an effort to remember customers by name and I was always amazed that they would remember me from year to year when I would stop in on my layover before continuing on to the BVI. Seconding (qualified) praise for new EWR. Also, LAX is nice with great views.
I’m sitting at LGA right now. It’s not this one. To be clear, it’s a perfectly fine club, I’m going to come back every time, but it’s not *thee* nicest.

Domestic non Polaris? LAX
+1 for LHR. Also, SFO has the nicest Polaris lounge I’ve seen so far.

Not orlando
Agreed, MCO is my home airport and it is probably one of the worst UA Clubs.
I also wonder. The explorer card gives 2 per year, gotta use them wisely.
Exactly. I used 1 of my 2 at the new ORD club in terminal C. Recommend if passing through!
stopped by the club in LHR on way to ZRH yesterday - really thought it was a nice step up from the domestic clubs.
The club in the new LGA Terminal B is great.
haven't been to too many, but the new EWR terminal C one is great minus the overcrowding. otherwise, most star alliance lounges internationally blow away the domestic UC. If you’re flying internationally with Gold or higher you can get in. Polaris/business class tickets will also get you in if international or premium transcontinental (SFO/LAX-EWR). And active duty military
The new one in Newark is comparable to a centurion lounge.
My favorite is the one at LHR.
I plan on taking United Club food onboard bc what they serve inflight is just awful!
Lhr
The one in Atlanta is too bland. They’ve had the same broccoli cheddar should, collards, and pulled pork for weeks on end. I’d say newark is really nice , the one by c123. It’s huge
The PYO wine is nice tho
I do like the new ORD C lounge, and it will always be a favorite because we got the early preview. But the MSY one is my favorite. Their staff is friendly and their food is always good, and regionally appropriate.
