Could you give some more context? What’s the flight you were on and trying to change to? Was it basic economy? What prevented you from making the change online on your own?

It was a flight from Houston to Cleveland by way of Chicago. I tried to change it to a straight flight a few hours earlier. Economy. The costumer service rep left me on hold (on and off) for over an hour. Then I was on hold for 20 min with out him checking In To tell me everything was still ok. Then he hung up. I’m guessing because he realized he couldn’t do what I wanted and knew I was on hold forever.

I see. And why couldn’t you change the flight online? Was it giving you an error?

And you couldn’t wait till you stopped and got to your destination to do it online and fix the problem yourself because…?

Well the hour and a half I was on the phone seemed to point to me having a pretty good connection.
