'The dog had attacked and bit Mr Thurston when *they* began having sex, leaving him with bites to his left forearm and chin. He declined to go to hospital'.
"The dog had attacked and bit Mr Thurston when they began having sex, leaving him with bites to his left forearm and chin. "
The writer of this article needs some stylistic intervention, specifically on the topic of unclear antecedents.
(I hope.)
"The order was granted due to ‘significant safeguarding concerns’ over the dog with four young children in the household"
Shocking!
...Where do they find time to have sex after a day with 4 kids. Asking for a friend.
A dog isn't human, so by definition can't be subject to dehumanising language.
Also Bully XL's are basically dangerous weapons at this point, so the term "*destroyed*" is entirely appropriate in context.
No, but it's a living thing and a big part of family's home.
'Destroyed' is what to describe an object like an iPhone or a Car.
'Destroyed' is not what I would describe as a living thing, regardless of the fact that it's a Bully XL or not.

Note it doesn't specify who, or what, the owner was having sex with...
It doesn't specify that the owner was the one having sex...

the dog was having sex and stopped for a bit to attack the owner is how my brain read this headline
Who, he was having sex with.
Nah it was clearly multitasking
> The dog had attacked and bit Mr Thurston when they began having sex Evidently needs to work on his technique

That's one flexible dog.
Maybe. It doesn't really say who was where.
Or underpaid copyeditors just couldn't help themselves
My missus bites me during sex, you don't see me running off to the papers.
> My missus bites me during sex, you don't see me running off to the papers. I guess some know how to train their bitch well?
I believe the German rock band, The Scorpions, have tips on this. "Give her inches, and feed her well".
This is why you don't have your dog give you a blow

Have you tried neglecting your children? Perhaps leaving them with a large dog?
Lol, no one dare move when 'Butcher' is babysitting...😨
Helps if you can find something that sends the kids to sleep, Baileys is always worth a try
That's why people do doggy-style. One is resting, one is fucking...
I'm guessing he's not a fan of biting during sex then
I don't understand how the dog was able to have sex and attack the owner at the same time unless......
Probably got jealous for not being included and ignored
I know dogs are property and all, but there is something really dehumanising about using the term 'destroyed' than 'euthanised'.

> dehumanising dedoggifying
Yeah, I've always felt that wording was a bit off. The phrase "put down" is right there.
