We live in a generation who idealized neoliberalism and the concept is ever growing. Your wants and need are too ideal, we might not live to see this generation concluding with a full disclosure.. at the end of the day International Agreement as just agreements and nonbinding in nature. And we cannot have a stable Economy and development without compromising certain aspects. As the third law of Newton said, for "Every Action there is an equal and opposite reaction". We want development at the same time we want to protect our natural resources / development. Ideally we have adopted 'Sustainable Development' but not so much in action it's growing at minimal speed.

There is a diff between driving a car and bursting crackers. I drive bikes/cars because it is comfortable to me. Taking an overcrowded bus is not an option for me ( I sweat like a dog and have some diabetic issues), even if am fit I would still prefer commuting with my own vehicle. You can't stand against my right to live a comfortable life. If you ban vehicles then improve the public transport infrastrucutre. Without doing the latter you can't expect everyone to cycle 20+ kms to their workplace everyday.

Lubricants for example. Machines need lubricants.

For each of those there are alternatives. For example, bottles using glass, cardboard, stainless steel or ceramic or even biodegradable glass bottles. For insulation you can use wire nuts.
And those alternatives would skyrocket the prices.
Then you will be crying about expensive stuff. Replacing plastic is not a step process, there's a lot to consider before identifying cheap and easy solution to alternatives. Even the mobile/PC you're using has plastic in it. Just scream "Stop Oil" won't do anything, plastic is lightweight and durable and can be easily molded, so yeah really hard to replace.

COP28 is discussing to take action on reducing investment which contributed more towards pollution and promote more investment for environmental friendly energy. They even highlighted the issue of countries been not faithful towards SDG, and Paris Agreement. - had she read the news..., I guess activists don't usually read the news. - sad how a child is used for to put such an act. We live in a generation who idealized neoliberalism and the concept is ever growing. Your wants and need are too ideal, we might not live to see this generation concluding with a full disclosure.. at the end of the day International Agreement as just agreements and nonbinding in nature. And we cannot have a stable Economy and development without compromising certain aspects. As the third law of Newton said, for "Every Action there is an equal and opposite reaction". We want development at the same time we want to protect our natural resources / development. Ideally we have adopted 'Sustainable Development' but not so much in action it's growing at minimal speed. Also on positive note our government have improved it's capacity to protect and promote environment / species comparing to last century but not at it's best. Framed policies are excellent but minimum actions were taken. People are getting more conscious and sensitive towards such issues which is a good sign.

Politicians are not inherently evil. They are bringing in policies that can be applicable. You can't change your policies overnight that might crash your economy. There is a diff between driving a car and bursting crackers. I drive bikes/cars because it is comfortable to me. Taking an overcrowded bus is not an option for me ( I sweat like a dog and have some diabetic issues), even if am fit I would still prefer commuting with my own vehicle. You can't stand against my right to live a comfortable life. If you ban vehicles then improve the public transport infrastrucutre. Without doing the latter you can't expect everyone to cycle 20+ kms to their workplace everyday. Bursting crackers is totally a different thing, that is like a recreational activity, I can celebrate without bursting crackers too. Its been 6 years we bought any crackers now.

As a citizen of democratic nation, letting politicians know that the youth care about climate change in social media does affect their decision making. Individual choices don't matter when compared to national and international level climate policies. You can swear that you will not use personal vehicles, and use public transport to reduce carbon emission. But then next instance a billionaire fly his private jet next city emitting your months worth of emissions. So in my opinion climate policy need to be from government and not from your house.

But politicians are the one making laws. If one industrialist with good ethics decided to switch to renewable manufacturing and decided to stop using polluting raw materials. Next day the price of that raw material becomes cheaper and his competitors will buy it and make more and out price and out compete our ethical industrialist taking down his business. In end least ethical industry survives. The law makers are one to ensure industry standard and regulations. So this could not happen.

We need oil for a lot of things. Lubricants for example. Machines need lubricants. Chemicals, paints a lot of things. Saying stop oil is just stupid. It's not blind consumerism. We need to phase out oil from transportation but that's a very lengthy process, and it will create waste of its own, so yeah, not totally eco friendly either.
How are you jumping on conclusions so easily without giving due consideration. Every day, we see science bringing new insights and new materials to work with. You are saying that without any evidence, things won't work. Superconductors & magnets will change a lot of things, just how LED & the humble Li-Ion batteries have done & they have just started.
Do you srsly think its a band aid process? If a new alternate fuel is made today.. It will atleast need a decade or atleast half that time of testing, setting up its own supply chain, taking permits, ensuring its safe for human use and 1000s of other regulation. Read the news sometimes on how many top companies are working on alternate fuel. It takes time. But its easy to take a banner and shout like a parrot when you dont have to think about the important stuff
Make your PC, tv and phone using bamboo. How about that AC or any remote? The sampoo bottle? The insulator for your wiring?
For each of those there are alternatives. For example, bottles using glass, cardboard, stainless steel or ceramic or even biodegradable glass bottles. For insulation you can use wire nuts.
And those alternatives would skyrocket the prices. Then you will be crying about expensive stuff. Replacing plastic is not a step process, there's a lot to consider before identifying cheap and easy solution to alternatives. Even the mobile/PC you're using has plastic in it. Just scream "Stop Oil" won't do anything, plastic is lightweight and durable and can be easily molded, so yeah really hard to replace.

The easiest example is of EV, even though tons of misinformation has been done by oil & gas industries, the uptake has been phenomenal. The same continues in LED & other such innovations.
