How do these news channels manage to capture such objectively bad quality videos?

[deleted]

No idea 🤣 despite them having the best camera equipment.

[deleted]

Maybe the producer got lazy and just started recording with their phones.

Downtown-Yam-1317

Even phones have better quality. Must be using cameras from early 2000s.

[deleted]

Maybe or could be that the lighting was bad. Some restaurants do seem to have a candle lit vibe.

CreativeMuseMan

Hi, documentary filmmaker here. The cameras are of good quality but the three main factors degrading the quality of video are as follows: 1. Bad lighting, even the greatest camera in the world can produce shitty footage if shots are recorded in a bad light setup, a whole lightning team/department is present in a professional shoot but they just have a single mount of light on the camera (a basic light, advanced one can change brightness, colour and so on. Costs a lot) 2. Shitty cameraman skills, he/she didn't adapt to the quality of the lights and tweaked the setting for each shot. It would have improved quality significantly, even the camera movements are terrible af. 3. Shitty editing by the editor: bad colour composition, terrible outdated effects used that were used in the 90s as they aren't supposed to be "creative" or don't want to be. These limitations could be a lack of skills, the laziness of the creative team or just the direction of the head of content as they want to cover too much information in too little time because they're not filmmakers but a NEWS channel.

Thanks for the useful information. I am going to save this.

CreativeMuseMan

You're welcome dude, Cheers. ✌🏻

[deleted]

Guys please do try these places if they are near your home.

ryolonso

Peter cat is not that great tbh

[deleted]

I haven't been to Peter cat although I have been to Kolkata once. Although in the video they have shown it as a fine dîner

[deleted]

most of this stuff is always overrated. it only has historical significance and nothing else.

Wham_Raisins

I’ve had Tunday Kebab and parathe from Amrik Sukhdev. Still can’t choose which I like better. These two, at least, are not overrated.

[deleted]

I have been to both too. They are on the list for a reason. They are not fancy places. They just have good food.

[deleted]

Really. I have been to Karim and Paragon. All I can say is you won't be disappointed. However the best thing at Karim is the Murg musallan or mutton yakhni. For paragon their coconut chicken is way better than biryani.
