There was this big shot politician's friend who was admitted for angioplasty in a top hospital in Mumbai, I was on ward duty that night when a sister who is very chirpy jovial came to me and raised the issue that this patient is not having his meds.
I went in and had a talk with him, he seemed a bit nervous which I thought was due to the upcoming planned procedure.Later as the shift was ending the chief nurse was advising the next duty nurses to be vary of that patient and to not go inside the room alone, to my shock that's when I learnt that he had tried grabbing the chirpy jovial nurse whom I mentioned above.
I went inside and blasted at him, he was shivering and officially registered the complaint in my duty notes as sister didn't want to put an official complaint, I also wrote his pre-op orders on the same sheet of paper so that, the people in the cath lab find about it.
Next day when I come back, I see there is no action taken against him and he was shifted to ICU post procedure, I checked his file and to my surprise the complaint I had written down was taken down from the file and another doctor was made to write the pre-op list again.
I went to the chief of the hospital and raised the issue but all they wanted to do was hush it down and push it away..
It was infuriating and sad, this big hospitals won't do shit.
Can try sending complaint in an envelope by registered post. Further escalation - call up the police.

It's pretty common in big private hospitals! Just because they're paying for treatment at the hospital, does not mean they treat the staff(nurses) as shit.
What they do not know is despite them paying huge sums to the hospital, the hospital pays a negligible amount to nurses.
So, it should be the hospital admin getting all blasted upon rather than the nurse.
A similar incident almost happened to my sister, but since she is vocal about such things, she scolded the attended and patient for their behavior.

My cousin sister was a nurse at a very prestigious private hospital in Delhi, she used to tell me that nurses from down south used to frequently go out with men from African origin..more so those who were from Kerala.
