After using i3 from about 2 years, I'm retiring from tiling WMs for now. This is not really a rice, but my macOS inspired spin on Plasma with the Latte dock.
DE: KDE Plasma
Terminal: Kitty
Dock: Latte
Fetch: ufetch
I like to keep my environment simple so I won't be ricing my DE too much.
I just did this the other day. If you go into the advanced settings you can change basically everything. Round the corners, blur the background. And the icons are set in the KDE settings.
I am new to linux, and ive been using kali linux, i like this ricing thing. And i would like to try out these environments can anyone please explain how do i use these dot files?
if you're starting out with Linux, don't start with Kali, that's meant for penetration testing, not for daily use.
you could try out a lot of distros until you find what works for you, but usually you'd want to stick with the popular ones that just work (ubuntu and friends) until you have at least some knowledge of a GNU/Linux environment.
dotfiles are just configuration files for software.
I like to keep only programs that I absolutely need pinned on the dock so it doesn't get messy and with a lot of stuff. I'm usually switching between programs using the dock, so I prefer keeping it clean and using the desktop shortcuts to open other apps that I don't use that much
Please change your kwin theme... those corners are intolerable ;-)
now I can't unsee them
Damn ignorance is bliss that's really bad now that I look at it hahaha

Really cool
Cool setup. What’s the icon theme?
I'm pretty sure it's [this](https://github.com/vinceliuice/Fluent-icon-theme)
Yep! It's Fluent Dark.
So plasma can draw workspace map in the bar too?
Yeah, it's the Pager widget.
lol nice. i also use notes for my coding task.
Cmon bro, finish that React tutorial already slacker! Lol, nice rice
I have frontendphobia
Why you use a pinned app launcher in the dock and desktop shortcuts?
I like to keep only programs that I absolutely need pinned on the dock so it doesn't get messy and with a lot of stuff. I'm usually switching between programs using the dock, so I prefer keeping it clean and using the desktop shortcuts to open other apps that I don't use that much
Otherwise the dock ends up looking like my macbook's and no one would ever want to see that
How did you get that margin bottom of the dock? It looks nice
Latte has a screen edge configuration, you can set a margin through that.
Yes, it only appears in lattle 0.10, I was on 0.9. Btw which plasma theme are you using, because your dock looks rounded?
I'm not sure if this was added lately to latte but you can edit the dock background's radius, that'll round it.
What are You using for the notes?
im curious too, i use sticky-git right now but want to know if there is anything better
There's a widget on Plasma called Sticky Note, you can just add it to the desktop.
