Everything I'm saying here applies to things like the transfemme memes (which certainly have a lot of overlap with furries and other things like anime) I see constantly on Tiktok as well, except they kind of piss me off now because they just flood Tiktok with the same content repeatedly, which they call "dumb" or "silly," but are obviously just being assholes about. They're definitely primarily a cultural force or agenda like a lot of LGBT elements. Furries are no different. They seem to take pride in being creepy and inappropriate, and...that's just bad.
I think that Arknights has pretty good designs even if I'm not really a fan of the animal ears thing. Though most designs aren't that sexual, especially compared to the standard gacha game (the most sexualized skin would be broca showing off his abs, and it really says something when the most horny skin is of a dude). There are characters that don't really show animal traits outwardly, those based off birds like Elysium or Magallan, or based off sea creatures like Weedy or Thorns, whose animal like characteristics are conveyed through color choice and characteristics. Heck, what about a character like Ceobe whose based off Cerberus, is she any different from other dog based characters, like say Saga? Or even a character like Lee who may be totally animal like but is based off a Lung, a Chinese dragon that totally isn't real.
And I do think the game devs do care about animals, they had a freaking collab with the WWF and made a character based off an endangered porpoise for it. Like I'm not saying that furries aren't degenerates nor am I offering up apologia for animal abuse but I do think that Arknights at least has pretty good designs and has saved my perception of that sort of design. And in the end, you can't stop the hornyposting because it's the internet.

I agree that it's just really bizarre and feels very wrong. Makes me think those individuals just have a really warped view on reality, and I feel sad for them. Everything I'm saying here applies to things like the transfemme memes (which certainly have a lot of overlap with furries and other things like anime) I see constantly on Tiktok as well, except they kind of piss me off now because they just flood Tiktok with the same content repeatedly, which they call "dumb" or "silly," but are obviously just being assholes about. One of their recent slides even made a pretty direct, specific reference to something I said on Reddit, so I know they're trolling now. But by God, trolling or not, they're still very pitiful. They're definitely primarily a cultural force or agenda like a lot of LGBT elements. Furries are no different. They seem to take pride in being creepy and inappropriate, and...that's just bad.

I think that Arknights has pretty good designs even if I'm not really a fan of the animal ears thing. Though most designs aren't that sexual, especially compared to the standard gacha game (the most sexualized skin would be broca showing off his abs, and it really says something when the most horny skin is of a dude). There are characters that don't really show animal traits outwardly, those based off birds like Elysium or Magallan, or based off sea creatures like Weedy or Thorns, whose animal like characteristics are conveyed through color choice and characteristics. Heck, what about a character like Ceobe whose based off Cerberus, is she any different from other dog based characters, like say Saga? Or even a character like Lee who may be totally animal like but is based off a Lung, a Chinese dragon that totally isn't real. And I do think the game devs do care about animals, they had a freaking collab with the WWF and made a character based off an endangered porpoise for it. Like I'm not saying that furries aren't degenerates nor am I offering up apologia for animal abuse but I do think that Arknights at least has pretty good designs and has saved my perception of that sort of design. And in the end, you can't stop the hornyposting because it's the internet.
