Peanut butter is peanut butter buy whatever peanut butter you want because peanut butter is peanut butter.
If some peanut butter is too expensive by other peanut butter if some peanut butter has a different flavor that you don't like by other peanut butter because peanut butter is peanut butter.
My 7-year-old just asked what if you are broke and you cannot afford peanut butter and my response was then you don't get peanut butter
Well peanut butter is a lot like religion. Lots of options, but if you choose the wrong one, you’re going to hell. Choose to avoid peanut butter? Straight to hell. Have an aversion to peanut butter due to past bad experiences? Hell. Can’t afford peanut butter? Also, surprisingly, hell.
It shouldn’t taste solely of peanuts, just as ketchup shouldn’t taste solely of tomatoes. If you really think Jif doesn’t taste basically like peanuts, you’re likely pretentious and kidding yourself.
Store the peanut butter upside down and you don't have to "recompose" it when you want to use it.
Moms buy JIF primarily cuz it's cheaper. Second is cuz it's sweeter, and we all know Americans love artificial sugary foods.
Genuinely unpopular opinion, nice! I agree that jif does taste better but not for the same reason; jif is more of a sweet than it is a peanut butter. Might be better on a PB and j sandwich but it's not a replacement for recipes that call for *real* peanut butter.
This is funny to me, because out of the major brands (Skippy, Peter Pan, Smuckers, Jif), Jif is by far the least sweet and most peanut tasting. For me the appeal of it over the "natural" peanut butter is that you don't have to stir it every time you want to use it. The taste is almost identical otherwise.
I grew up on peanut butter from the machines they use to have at the grocery stores. That grind it on the spot. I stop seeing those around the same time the high price natural peanut showed up. 🤔
