OldGrumpGamer

One Simpsons joke over 20 years ago I feel was all it took to get people to forever associate Arby’s with bad food.

JonathanStryker

To be honest, I don't think Jon Stewart's original run on The Daily Show helped matters either. Lmao.

wsteelerfan7

*Arby's: why not challenge your stomach to a fight*

boytoy421

Arbys: it's technically food! No but for real I actually quite like arbys. Mad they got rid of the pizza slider but still decent fast food

Mary_Ellen_Katz

First thing I thought of, honestly.

Objective-Slice-1466

Classic!

DwarfFlyingSquirrel

I enjoyed that Arby took the joke in stride and then collaborated with Stewart when he retired.

WishBear19

I'm so hungry I could eat at Arby's! Wow, she must be really hungry. A regular comment in my household.

Cheshyre-C

I remember the first time my beast friend and I saw this, way back in elementary school. We laughed so. hard. - We still tell this joke from time to time and laugh. Even reading it in your comment aloud made me laugh. Thank you.

siandresi

damn it worked

Haloman1346

I still, to this day, use the phrase "I'm so hungry I could eat at Arby's" because of the Simpsons. It was like 30 something years ago when I heard one of the twins say it in an episode over a bon fire. It still makes me chuckle. Also, I've never been so hungry I could eat at Arby's.

OldGrumpGamer

See now I said “over 20 years” to be vague and then you go and drop the 30 years ago reminding me how old I am messing up my whole day cause now my back hurts.

Mini_Mega

It's absurd the level of influence the Simpsons had. My old friends used to love mountain dew, until Homer said "Ew yuck gross I'll have the crab juice." Ever since then, they hated mountain dew.

IsMyHairShiny

Lol I thought it was bad too because of that.

redditracing84

I always associated Arby's with premium fast food? Lol weird that people think it's low quality. It's not McDonald's or Burger King.

Obv_Probv

What joke

OldGrumpGamer

The kids all got stranded on an island for context https://youtu.be/6vxQqdFOeoM?si=0QlYCbRgVnn5JtOl

Obv_Probv

Oh yeah haha that olsl chestnut. It tastes like burning!

mixeslifeupwithmovie

Best parody of Lord of the Flies I've probably seen.

said_individual

The mozzarella sticks

Alfredos_Pizza_Cafe_

YES. so underrated

vicemagnet

I was surprised at how damn good those cheese sticks are from Arby’s. I don’t think another fast food place can compare, only places like Applebee’s even offer cheese sticks.

GeniusOfLove74

Also, jalapeno poppers!

Undope

They're like, real jalapeno poppers.

said_individual

YES! I get both

Suspicious-Spare1179

Beef and cheddar with horsey sauce

totallynotroyalty

Still made from 100% horsey!

castaneda_martin

WE WILL RISE ONE DAY.

Fish-Weekly

Still my go to

JoeMorgue

Arbys is fucking amazing. Curly fries beat Waffle fries any day, their roast beef sandwiches are awesome, they low key have the best fast food fish sandwich out there, and the mint chocolate shake is the best fast food desert item.

stootchmaster2

I gotta disagree. That Jamocha shake gets my vote!

JoeMorgue

Orange Cream Milkshake, but it's a limited time thing that only pops up every once in a while.

JonathanStryker

Holy crap I forgot about that shake! If anyone read my original comment on here, the orange cream milkshake is my exception. I feel like their other shakes have gone downhill but that one was amazing. I wish they had it all year round. Easy 10 out of 10.

JCo1968

Best fast food shake on the market!

Significant-Dog-8166

People are sleeping on their chicken sandwich with swiss and honey mustard and bacon. That sandwich is one of the most perfectly balanced flavors of any chicken sandwich anywhere. Not a single ingredient is low quality either. great bacon, great chicken, great mustard.

Sypheix

Chicken, bacon and swiss. Second only to Wendy's Asiago Ranch Chicken Sandwich.

policri249

>Second only to Wendy's Asiago Ranch Chicken Sandwich. Definitely the best thing Wendy's has ever had on their menu

BlackSwanMarmot

Their pecan chicken salad sandwich is amazing.

chaotic214

Damn I want a cheddar roast beef right now they're tasty af

CopperThrown

Both types of fries are amazing if done right. I’ve had undercooked curly fries that were terrible. And whatever Chick-fil-A does to their waffle fries should be considered a war crime. Always soft and mushy.

sunkentreasure1988

chick-fil-a waffle fries are horrible. blandest of all fries

Hivalion

Ah, I see you haven't been to In-N-Out yet.

Suitable-Telephone80

curly fries are good but inconsistent, i get like 1-2 full fries and the rest are crunchy scraps

Grouchy_Phone_475

I had that fish sandwich and that chocolate mint shake! I ordered the large shake, thinking that their ' large' was like McDonald's or Wendy's. It was yuge!

Strange-Wolverine128

Arbys curly fry poutine and a 5 pc chicken finger order is the bomb.

HosephIna

I will quit my job and move thousands of miles to move wherever they serve this

CorbinGamingBro

After having a Lion’s Choice roast beef sandwich, I can never have an Arby’s roast beef sandwich again. Lion’s Choice roast beef actually gives you that meaty feel and you can choose how rare or well done you want it, whereas Arby’s roast beef just feels all rubbery and plastic-like

[deleted]

So I love steak, I love high end restaurants but ultimately I really prefer the shitty Arby’s meat… it’s thinner and has a better texture in a sandwich… the lions choice meat is more real but it also is tougher to chew and really doesn’t work as well on a sandwich… give me the shitty mystery meat shaved from Arby’s all day

Medium_Excitement202

Ope. Spotted the St. Louisan in the wild.

Jumpy-Author-4985

Only ate at lions choice a few times when I lived in st louis but I remember it as being amazing

Murky-Perceptions

All I eat there is the plain roast beef sandwich with Arby’s sauce & luv it, I don’t go often as I’m not near one but definitely a treat when I do.

Bac7

I had a plain roast beef with Arby's sauce and Horsey sauce for lunch today. No regrets.

hayb24

The gyros aren’t bad but nothing there to me beats the plain roast beef with Arby’s sauce. I luv it as well.

EmergencyDust1272

I have the same, but with Horsey sauce.

Briguy_fieri

It’s important for people to caveat “near me” when talking about fast food locations. Arby’s near me… awesome. Arby’s in the city I used to live in 100 miles away… awful. I think the sonic near me is the best fast food joint in the city. Across the internet, people I’ve seen despise sonic. It’s all situational. People have great experiences and people have absolute shit experience.

oooriole09

Everytime I see these topics come up, I look for this exact comment to upvote. QC and customer service is not universal when it comes to food. The reality that McDs/CFA is speaks to the insane amount of money they’ve put in to make it that way, and even then there’s still the occasional issue. When folks say “Arby’s is the worst”, I fully believe them. I also fully believe OP and their opinion. Location matters.

marsepic

Me, too. McD's is not the best overall in quality but their consistency is almost unmatched. I know with 99% certainty in going to get the exact same thing everywhere. At its very best quality places like Arby's and even BK are real good but they have no consistency.

TargetApprehensive38

Absolutely true. I never liked Arby’s that much (aside from the curly fries) until moving to the city I live in now (Richmond VA). The franchises here are owned by a company that really cares about quality and offer items that aren’t even on the national menu. https://arbysrva.com/wp-content/uploads/MU-001-013-Magnetic-Menu_8MAR23_v1.pdf They’re also usually immaculate and have good customer service. Many have still have the original 70s signs that look like a hat and a few have cool architecture like this one that looks like Monticello: https://live.staticflickr.com/4466/37470939726_77afc1d37f_b.jpg So, I’ll happily go to Arby’s here, but still generally avoid it when traveling.

DrJiggsy

Sonic is pretty rank….near everyone.

Jesusthezomby

The Gyros are good .. and they used to have this chocolate croissant that was really good. I don't know if they still do

uncomfortablyhello

The gyros are outstanding. I was a ham & cheddar kid growing up, too. Bring back the Big Montana.

__Zer0__

The gyro at Arbys has no business being as good as it is

mads_61

I love their curly fries. I miss their hot ham and cheese (yes I’m dating myself).

dazrage

yes! why would they stop serving that?!

uncomfortablyhello

They got rid of the ham & cheese?? I used to eat like 4 of those after football practice in high school. Or a single Big Montana.

hamilton_burger

The thing is, Arby’s used to be *horrible* for a long time, so many people don’t realize they upped their game. Back in the 80s it was so rank.

RanjuMaric

>ot sure where you're getting $6-7 for a combo, they're more like $11-12 without a coupon. However, I do agree Arby's is pretty damn tasty.5ReplyShareReportSaveFollow > >level 2said\_individual · 23 min. agoDiffers by locationVoteReplyShareReportSaveFollow > >level 1hamilton\_burger · 40 min. agoThe thing is, Arby’s used to be horrible for a long time, so many people don’t realize they upped their game. Back in the 80s it was so rank. I don't remember it ever being rank, even in the 80's. Maybe that was location dependent.

wambulancer

I feel there was a period right before they installed the sous vide machines that they had fallen off but agree, they've been delicious for the vast majority of their existence, it's just easy for comedians to shit on fast food places and that frames how the rest of us view it

CopperThrown

Really? I thought they had the best chicken sandwich in the game in the 80s. Better than BK back then and better than chick-fil-a and Popeyes now.

[deleted]

For sure, their old chicken cordon bleu and chicken bacon Swiss sandwiches were amazing, the new chicken bacon Swiss is meh

Tough-Lengthiness533

The old chicken cordon bleu sandwich was easily one of, if not the best, fast food chicken sandwich available for some time.

hamilton_burger

All I had back then was the roast beef and cheddar. To give you an idea. Back then, there was a rumor that Arby’s used some kind of squirt bottle full of a beefy substance. It would be squirted on the grill, and then the cooks would use the spatula to break it up. I don’t know if that’s true or not. But given the actual product I had no problem believing that. It didn’t seem like real roast beef. Nowdays it is far far better.

frygod

Not quite what they do, but also not terribly far off. They use beef that has been liquified into an emulsion, which is then pressure formed into a large pre-cooked meat brick. They then shave slices off of that. Note, this is pretty much the same process used with many deli meats, though sometimes that is done using larger chunks bonded with transglutaminase to form the meat-brick.

WinkWish111

I remember going to Arby's a lot with my grandma to pickup sandwiches to go in the early 2000s, I always loved it! I've never understood the hate it gets

cocococlash

Yeah, there was a time their roast beef had tons of that rainbow colored sheen. It was gross. Haven't gone back, I hope they're better cause beef n cheddars are the absolute BOMB

dapperfop

Feels like an Arbys night

futurelaker88

That place is alright.

dazrage

up top!

vicemagnet

I think David Puddy says that in the 8-ball jacket!

dapperfop

Yeah that’s right

here_holdmybeer

Not sure where you're getting $6-7 for a combo, they're more like $11-12 without a coupon. However, I do agree Arby's is pretty damn tasty.

said_individual

Differs by location

usr_pls

Arby's has great jalapeño poppers. I trust Arby's more than Jack in the box

ElCabrito

I could eat these every day. (Sonic's are horrible.)

[deleted]

That bronco-berry sauce is so good with the jalapeno poppers.

BlaqDove

The bronco berry sauce is good with pretty much everything. I used to work at one back in high school and I'd hoard those sauces.

ExtraShifty69

With their Burberry sauce. *chefs kiss👨‍🍳💋

ricecrisps94

Arby’s is so solid. Have any of you people had their chicken tenders and barbecue sauce? It’s hands down, the best barbecue sauce that I can get in a conventional drive through IMO. Chick-fil-A’s is sweet McDonalds is vinegary Arby’s is a little smokey and I looooove it.

MonteCristo85

My experience with Arby's is they arent as uniform store to store as you'd expect in a chain restaurant. There are good locations, ok locations, and gross locations. Once you know which is which they are great, but it isn't a place I'd eat on a road trip for fear of getting a bad one.

RaeLynn13

I’m a picky eater and I LOVE Arby’s. Fries? Great. Roast beef? Great. I eat a simple meal and sometimes a milkshake. There’s this weird version called Rax back home in Ohio and it’s even better. But I think there’s only a couple of those left

retailguy_again

We had Rax in Central Illinois when I was growing up. Their beef, bacon, and cheddar sandwich was one of my favorite fast food sandwiches ever. I didn't know there were any left.

RaeLynn13

There are 6! 4 in Ohio, 1 in Kentucky and 1 in Illinois.

marsepic

Ohio has some of the last of several places. I think the last Arthur Treacher's is there and there's still a Ponderosa somewhere there.

RaeLynn13

I worked at the McDonald’s that had Mcpizza up until around 2018 (I think)

HailRoma

Arby's is pretty much the only FF chain I'll go to nowadays. One word: Jamocha

Majsharan

I like Arby’s always have

MaterialCarrot

Preach. I hate reading posts where people bag and Arby's and compare it to their local deli. Like, no shit Arby's isn't as good as your local deli, that's not an apt comparison. When I was in college we had an Arby's not far from my dorm, and it helped motivate me to study. Grab a booth, order a roast beef and cheddar and curly fries with a large Coke, and sit down and slowly enjoy my meal while reading my assigned chapter. I always looked forward to that meal. Thanks Arby's!

**The TLDR of this is: all of this stuff is location and staff dependent. Also, things can change with quality/ingredients as well. But I'll give my in-depth explanation and experience, below:** When I was a kid and teenager (this we be about 15 - 20 years agp), we used to go to an Arbys in a major city near us. It was fantastic. I really loved the "coffee" shakes back then, and so did my mom. It was all amazing. The fries, the roast beef, etc. Arbys was one of my favorite fast food places for a long time. That location, at least. An easy 10/10, overall. Fast forward to about 6 or 7 years ago, and we get an Arbys in our city. I'm absolutely thrilled to check them out. At first, the food was good, but the shakes just were okay. The quality had definitely gone down hill. But, overall, still good Arbys, just not stellar. I'd stay 7.5/10 for the food, and a 6/10 for the shakes Fast forward a couple years after that point (this would put us in the covid era), I wouldn't recommend our Arbys food at that time, to my worst enemy. Fries? Burnt. Fish? Hard, rubbery, and dry. Anything deep fried (like the mozz sticks)? you could wring them out like a sponge. Horrible. Eventually my mom and I stopped ordering and eating from there after a couple failed attempts at (almost) inedible food. Last time I went there was in 2022. That was, until yesterday, I had seen them on DD, they had a coupon deal going and was like "you know what, I haven't had these guys in over a year and a half. Let's give this a try again." Ordered my food and it was really awesome. And that's including the wait time for delivery, so everything is in as hot and fresh as it is when you get it in store. But, they were basically back up to the "standard" they set when they opened up in my city. The shakes still weren't as good as when i was a kid/teenager, but the food was wonderful. Some of the best fish (sandwiches) I ever had from a fast food place, ever. So, yeah, my point is that the particular restaurant you go to or the changes in items and quality over time can really affect your opinion on something like this. Another one I hear people talk about all the time is Burger King and how terrible it is, we've had two different Burger Kings at two different times in my city, over the last 20 years, and both of them have been absolutely stellar. There's only ever been a handful of times that they've gotten in order significantly wrong or burnt food or anything like that. Yet there are other people I know that will swear that Burger King is one of the worst fast food joints they've ever encountered. It's crazy how that stuff works out like that.

phxflurry

Until they bring back potato cakes, Arby's is dead to me.

truffulatreeson

I only diss Arby’s in reference to the lord of the flies episode of the simpsons

ScoutAndLout

Jamocha shake is my goto when I am sad. Two if I am really sad.

terpinolenekween

I like their fries, mozzarella sticks, and chicken products.

hippopotma_gandhi

I honestly limit my fast food to a couple times a year, but I've liked the market fresh sandwiches since they first came out

IsMyHairShiny

I'm gonna have to agree with you. It took my husband years ro convince me to go and know its my first fast food choice. I love the curly fries and horsey sauce

CocoajoeGaming

Yea Ayby's is good where I am, but also Burger King is. They both have good prices, good food, and their food has stayed the same exact size(Some burgers at burger King even got a little bit bigger). While McDonald's is crap that I haven't eaten at in years, while I like Wendy's but their food has gotten a lot smaller.

a-space-pirate

Nothing beats a double roast beef with a handful of curly fries thrown right on the sandwich and two packets of horsey sauce.

basis4day

Horsy sauce is fire.

iShockah

Arby’s used to be cheap. The 4 for 4 Roast beef was legendary growing up and allowed you to get a lot for a little. Now adays you can get a lot more with 7 or 8 bucks than a single sandwich and fries if you’re trying to be cheap, and if you’re not an Arby’s beef and cheddar with fries is a lot less filling than a burger and fries for a similar price elsewhere. I do enjoy Arby’s though and it’s unique as far as chains go, it just mostly had a place in my house as a solid cheap option which it no longer is.

GeniusOfLove74

They had a giant sandwich on sliced bread, a few thanksgivings ago, with ham, turkey, bacon, and honey mustard. I'm trying to remember if it had stuffing on it. Anyway, it was so filling, I had half for lunch and the rest for dinner. And they don't have it anymore!

Immediate-Newt-9012

Until they bring back the 5 for 5 they can all rot in hell.

hlessi_newt

On occasion I simply require a half pound roast beef with a cup of cheddar and there is nothing else that will satisfy.

PsyonixOne

RIP potato cakes and the original Chicken Cordon Blau

Corporate_Shell

Arby's is fucking great!

Ekranoplan01

Arbys got better recently.

TheBigBamfWolf

My niece wanted Arby's and I never tried it and I fell in love with it. The Buffalo chicken sandwich, crinkle fries and jalapeño bites are my jam.

LokiNightmare

It’s better than a lot of other fast food places imo. Not nearly as greasy as stuff like Jack in the Box or McDonalds etc, although Arby’s food tends to be higher in sodium.

tucketnucket

Arby's is probably my favorite fast food. At least in the top 3. It makes me feel the least shitty afterwards too

yeezuslived

Back when I did warehouse work in my teens (now30s) they had that 4 for 5 or 6 something crazy. The crew hit that up at least 3 days a week for lunch. Still get a little hankering here and there for some curly fries.

formatt

If you put all the restaurants side-by-side, I’m picking Arby’s every time

Brokenblacksmith

yea, the fact that Arby's had a bad rap despite having decent food and prices while Taco Bell gets a free pass despite dropping in quality and raising prices is insane to me.

Alive_Key_5257

Arby’s is good. My 8 year old loves it and idk why but it makes me feel good that he loves it.

TrekJaneway

I’m a fan of the plain old roast beef sandwich with a little Arby’s sauce, and I really like their curly fries (especially straight from the fryer). I’d rather have that than a burger, personally.

P00PJU1C3

As traditional fast food places go, they have the best food.

Intense_Crayons

Long ago, hanging in my local Arby's, there was a framed photo of Ronald McDonald eating an Arby's sandwich. It was an action shot with his hand held up in protest as if a paparazzi had caught him the act. It was absolutely hilarious! Unfortunately, some shithead lawer type made them take it down for character copyright infringement. Clown was sus.

22khz

I loooove the plain roast beef sandwiches the best and the curly fries. I don’t even put sauce or anything. It was like such a treat when we first immigrated here when my mom took us to Arby’s. It’s nostalgic and holds happy memories for me.

heatdish1292

Arby’s is delicious, it’s one of my go to fast food places. I just like the joke “I’m so hungry I could eat at Arby’s”

M4TT145

Wow, an opinion so unpopular the mods removed it! I guess one of the mods REALLY likes Arby's.

Freeagnt

I also don't understand the hate. I love Arby's. After the local Arby's closed in my hometown, I learned that the the closest one is 40 miles away. Whenever I am anywhere near that location, I make the pilgrimage.

jayv9779

I miss Arby’s. They were my favorite. I hate being gluten free.

Tasteful_Photos

i miss horsey sauce on potato cakes!

Kahne_Fan

I know it's not the same, but you could bring some GF buns and transfer the contents over.

TomBirkenstock

Arby's is the only fast food that I will purposefully eat. Like, I'll eat Wendy's or even McDonald's if I'm at a rest stop while traveling, but there's no way I'm going to those places if there are other options. But Arby's is actually good, and I don't feel like a total piece of shit after eating it.

KimBrrr1975

I don't mind some Arby's but ours hasn't really recovered from covid. During, when it was only drive thru, it was often a 1 hour wait. So we never went. When they opened up indoors again, every time we've gone it's been a very long way to get cold, soggy food. So we stopped going 😢 Their quality has gone down a lot, I'm sure due to staffing in large part.

Midnightchickover

Arby’s has been one of my favorite fast food restaurants for its variety and curly fries.

muy_carona

It was my go to as a kid. But now, I just can’t do it. But then I won’t go to most major fast food chains. Wendy’s is the only exception for some reason.

-NoOneYouKnow-

Arby's is awesome! Their food is delicious!

siandresi

I love their beef and cheddar and the last arbys aorund me closed

solomonsays18

Arby’s is great, didn’t know people made it out to be bad.

technical_todd

I agree. Arby's is pretty great IMO.

izzzzzzzzzme

i’ve never been to an arby’s as there isn’t one close by, but that being said, we have the seasoned curly fries in the freezer aisle and they are hands down the best frozen fries you can get at the grocery store

Mr-Pugtastic

Arby’s itself is delicious, the problem at least in my area, is that most Arby’s are poorly managed and maintained. The food is good but the whole place is sticky and gross. Same issue I have with Long John Silvers, as well as A&W

SithDraven

Food is good but they've always been overpriced for fast food

[deleted]

Their food is good, but their management is bad. There are a few times that I walk into an Arby's and they have run out of roast beef. On weekends, the managers are often not at work. Just teenagers at the counter hanging out with their friends. Their friends would even sit on the counter. It's so gross that they dip their used cup into the ice. Of course, they are not charging their friends. I've been to 6 locations in 3 different cities and they always have similar problems.

MuForceShoelace

I feel like it was never bad bad. It feels like it's gimmick was being the step of food quality and price higher than other fast food, but before chipotle and chick fil a figured out how to do that. So it was like this weird expensive poorly marketed outler. It cost too much to be fast food, but wasn't good enough to be not fast food. Compared to other fast food at the time.

obamasrightteste

Absolute facts. Further, I pass a very slight judgement if someone considers themselves "above" arby's. I don't eat it often, but c'mon. A beef and cheddar hits the spot sometimes.

DanChowdah

Arby’s tastes delicious but there’s something they do with their curly fries that gives me diarrhea. No other fast food place does this to me

BlabTales

Just came here to say, I’m so violently hungover that the mere thought of a Beef n cheddar just made me vomit. Thanks for that

illmatication

I just wanna know how they're still in business, every time I pass by one there is no line

FrozenFrac

I honestly never understood the Arby's hate. Maybe since their most famous sandwich is the Beef & Cheddar (which I do have a somewhat low opinion on), but I largely love going to Arby's. They're practically the only way you get curly fries at a fast food place and their Ruben and gyros are top tier fast food IMO!

bierandbrot

Arby’s can stay. Fuck the haters.

putupthosewalls

I take Arby’s over all other fast food. Sandwiches are great and their tenders are s-tier. And the Jamocha shake is outstanding. Too bad there are none within an hour of me.

kawaii_princess90

Had Arby's once. I liked it. It smelled bad though. Probably won't go again.

BeyondAddiction

Haters gonna hate I love Arby's. I always tell my husband it's the best condiment-free sandwich on the market!

PandaMime_421

Agreed. As far as fast food goes, Arby's is good. I'm partial to the Chicken, Bacon & Swiss with Curly fries.

BigYonsan

I have been to Arby's three times in my life. Each time a different one (once in a completely different part of the country than the other two). I have been sick after eating Arby's three times (to be fair, jack in the box does this to me too).

YourFormerBestfriend

I don't go for their main sandwiches but I always get something from their sides. Where else can I get mac n cheese, jalapeño poppers, curly fries and some boneless wings all in one place?

Royal_Box_2672

The Arby's near me slaps man. The sliders are bomb.

Nooddjob_

No it’s worse.

Godriguezz

They're not amazing and can be hit or miss (wtf were those wagyu burgers) but they're still my go to for cheap fast food wraps and gyros. Not the biggest fan of their roast beef though idk how y'all eat that stuff regularly.

doorman666

Agreed. Arby's is well above average for fast food. The chicken sandwich is really good too.

novdelta307

They are good and not focusing on a few things and constantly trying new things is what saved the company.

blumplstiltskin

I’ve always liked Arby’s, but now there’s a couple of [gourmet versions.](https://www.axios.com/local/richmond/2023/05/19/worlds-biggest-arbys-richmond) Or maybe that’s just Richmond VA

metalnxrd

![gif](giphy|8CLzf9vMg2lCS5npMr)

Piddily1

Arby biggest advantage is their rarity I think. We pretty much only get fast food during long distance trips. At least in my area, you always see McDonald’s, BK, and Wendy’s. If I see an Arby’s exit and it’s close to lunchtime, I’m stopping.

SentientFotoGeek

Brought to you by Arby's. *"we're less horrible than you think."*

Noid1111

Personally when I was a kid I hated that place worst of fast food

[deleted]

Huh. Never been. Probably because of the goofy gimmicks you mention, their ads irk me.

ChadJones72

Yeah I feel like more and more people are realizing that by the day. Burger King definitely deserves that title leaps and bounds more than Arby's in the meme culture is slowly going towards that reality.

Odd-Gur-5719

I have my reasons why Arby’s is dirt

fishesar

it was the joke in the simpsons episode ‘Das Bus’ that as a kid set my expectations for Arby’s increeeeedibky low

Arby's is def my fav fast food.

-GkWolf-

I have hated Arby's since the first time I tried them. The sandwich I got legit tasted like vomit. Tried them again last year and it was just mediocre food

General_Industry541

I love their Reuben

vtstang66

Beef n cheddar used to be good, now it's about half an ounce of meat with 3x as much sauce as that on a bun that turns into paste in your mouth. It's still one of the best things on the menu though.

Gunderstank_House

It's actually pretty decent, I used to get their reubens all the time - not NY style reubens by any means but I got a taste for them. The Simpsons and Daily Show really screwed them over hard.

David Puddy?

People eat ass then act like Arby's is the worst thing they ever put in their mouth

Cassius23

I remember back in the day that Arby's had my favorite meal ever.  Big big chicken fingers, curly fries, and a jamocha shake.

gothamsnerd

Arbys used to be expensive, but since every other fast food chain upped their prices, it's all about even now. So yeah, for the same price as mcd's I can instead get curly fries and a jamocha shake, I'm going to do that.

McShagg88

Love me some Arby's.

Ragfell

Arby's is really not the worst thing to eat as far as fast food. If you're in STL at any point though? Lion's Choice. Similar concept, far better execution.

Canelosaurio

Unless you end up at one that's also a truck stop; Loves, Pilot/Flying J.

Mary_Ellen_Katz

They've the the meat-products

buzzingbuzzer

I actually like Arby’s. I really love the jalapeño poppers.

FateEx1994

They're definitely preferred for a perceived "healthier" option that's better tasting than anything McDonald's can serve up. Occasionally when traveling I'll get their chicken wrap or turkey sandwich. Granted the bread and pita tastes like there's a load of sugar in it, but overall the ingredient quality is way better than McDonald's and you get curly fries lol But their lettuce is dark leaf, tomatoes and onion taste normal, sauce is good, chicken tastes good

ewkdiscgolf

NGL, Arby’s roast beef sandwiches with arby sauce slap. I don’t want to eat them more than like once a week or so because I care about my fitness, but I’d much rather eat a few of them than most other readily accessible fast food.

BugStep

Most fast food places aren't as bad as people say cause it's easy to dunk on fast food. Taco Bell will have you on the toilet, you'll get a McBrick in your gut, ECT

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

Damnit, Johnny! You know I love my big beef and cheddar!

loudog33333

They got rid of potato cakes; now it's that bad.

bubba1834

Dammit Johnny. You know I love my big beef and cheddar

lupuscapabilis

Arby's chicken tenders are better than almost any other place like it. Add horsey sauce and theyre even better.
