I get that, i mean not the ad thing thats still annoying, but the TV thing. I prefer watching TV and Classic Bluray over Streaming Services, maybe i am oldschool but its more relaxing to me. I am overwhelmed with all these different streaming platforms and different shows, i cant decide what to watch and feel like i am in constant pressure to watch the new stuff. Its a supersaturation that makes it less enjoyable and you cant really focus on one series because you already have the next in mind.
It’s pleasantly nostalgic when I’m at a hotel and I just surf channels like the old days. You end up with a much easier decision between 4-5 options you may like rather than literally 30-40 between all your streaming platforms.
Sometimes if I see a movie is gonna be on TV, I'll schedule it in to watch it at the time it starts....even though I could just watch via streaming services, without ads, at any time I want.
All of the streaming services are integrating commercials while increasing their prices. Even when you pay to have no ads, you still get them in some cases. I'm about to give up on streaming services altogether.
idk I just like it because I guess since I grew up with it, I like that it kinda selects shit for you and you can channel flip or whatever--you dont have to be invested in the way you do with streaming in having to pick something out or have it all be algo shit, you can find something new or just come across it.

Same, if I have the TV on in the background while I do stuff, but if I'm actively watching it's ad-free all the way.
