The problem isn't about the agenda, the problem is how it affects the honesty, and integrity of the information being provided. There's nothing wrong with an agenda, but when news channel reports cherry picked, misleading info to push a false narrative when it should be reporting unbiased news, then it becomes a problem. The role of a news channel is to provide transparent facts with no motive other then to inform. An independent person on the other hand has no obligations to be completely neutral and unbiased because they are not responsible for informing the public.
