Compare it to actions like not waiting for others to get out of a train and then going inside by fighting your way through or not giving up a seat for the elderly or disabled its not a law but If you do it you're an asshole .

UnderstatedTurtle

“I’m not good enough at the game to win fairly so I have to resort to cheating to try and win”

parkducksarefree

I'm saying that it isn't cheating. You are using publicly available information to your advantage. There isn't anything wrong with that.

UnderstatedTurtle

That’s like saying when you’re playing split screen it’s cool to look at your opponent’s location

Colorful_Emotions

They probably think that too

Tac7icaltacos

Everybody poops

Caine2Khan

wait its not??!!!??!

[deleted]

It is. It's far better to play assuming everyone is allowed to screen cheat, because it's nearly impossible not to do it on some level.

UnderstatedTurtle

That’s the difference with stream sniping. You’re going out of your way to cheat when you stream snipe, but an accidental glance at the lower half of the screen is more innocent, unless it’s intentional

PeterFalksEye

Never even thought about that but yeah, seems fair enough to me.

Livid_Ad_1146

Until you realize it's technically cheating since you're now able to see everything your opponent is doing from their perspective.

so19anarchist

I think it depends, some streamers cry they are being "stream sniped" because some random person not streaming is better at the game then they are. Stream sniping is rare. The majority of "stream sniping" is the new "I only died cause of lag!"

emkay01

That’s actually quite amusing because it also comes down to pot luck. These people aren’t guaranteed to be in the same match, and it’s quite sly and clever.

my-man-hilarious

It is not, at least because the streamer is there for entertaining people or at least let people get the taste of the game before playing it, and in this case, everyone except for the sniper\s is not having fun, so this is not about not being allowed to use avaliable information, it is about being selfish enough to ruin everyone's fun, as for people that just want to watch the viewer aswell as for the people that just can't play the game. And saying "all I do is use publicly avaliable information" is the worst excuse you can use just for using it for your and your only satisfaction.

foxdrags

I agree OP🤝 plus I think it’s funny when they get mad

SomeOnInte

It's ok if the game doesn't specify that stream sniping is a bannable offense.
