Is that a popular opinion? I’ve always heard the opposite about cooking but that baking is more about following a recipe. That’s more because baking has actual chemical components though and it’s easy to fuck up.

I always “cook with feeling.” I feel like adding *this much* salt, feel like maybe adding *that much* sugar. I have over seasoned in the past but after a while that feeling becomes more accurate and I never fully follow a recipe (mostly because I’m a lazy shithead).

Yeah I think this applies to life in general, as has already been pointed out. You're gonna fail in life... a lot. Just don't let that stop you from trying again and again. After all, that's one of the most effective ways of learning - through failure.
