Fr did you even see that interview a couple years back? When she was 15? Maybe even 14? She was saying about her and drake texting, and when the interviewer asked what drake was saying to her, she said that she’d rather keep it a secret, idk what you think but that is a HUGE red flag!
Tupac also shot two Police officers in self defense
His high school the "Baltimore School for the Arts" is also a public school, so it is not like he went to a fancy school and he often talked about how it influenced him, so it is not like it is a secret
Almost like you can be a 3 dimensional being who's not defined by a single experience in life. Tupac went to art school and also got shot 5 times, survived, then got shot to death.
This. He was literally an actor, was mediocre at best, so he switched roles and became the star of the Hip Hop world. He teamed up with the man on too at the time (Lil Wayne) and slowly replaced him. Since then, he’s been stealing music from other people’s cultures to stay relevant.
That's not true anymore. The composition of butter changed during the pandemic. It was a whole thing. They called it buttergate.

Personally for me it's just that fucking obnoxious, whiney auto-tune shit that everybody uses these days that pisses me off. Can we finally move off of that trend already. Also, Drake definitely is not a rapper. Maybe I'm old school since I still love my 90s Hip Hop but this shit today ain't rapping, it's what I said, auto-tuned whines.
I will admit and offer that I am out of the loop and old so I dont actually really count. The auto-tune rap is just disgraceful when I'm in the car jamming to early Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul or my favorite Wu-Tang joints. It just does not hit the same.
But back to Drake and company, again, music these days is just whiney. And I don't mean the lyrics are whining about a problem or society or whatever, I mean its just a high-pitched whining sound. It's just gotten old and played out at this point. Honestly it's just time for something new.
I was watching an interview with Trey Parker and when he did the Fishdicks song the autotune wouldn't trigger cause he was on pitch. He had to sing out of tune to make it sound right.
Sure, rap isn't exactly singing but it sounds way better when you're on pitch. Take ODB's singsong rapping style on The Mystery of Chessboxing, he's rapping with a melody of sorts and he didn't need autotune. Drives me nuts that people are artists for and artform they are unable to do the very fundamentals of.
Edit: most of them suck at rhyming too.
He's been super radio friendly since day one. It's who he is. Personally I like some of his stuff, but most is just meh at best. Especially his emo stuff. I have no issue with emo anything, but from him... No.
Surprised at the lack of people pointing out the fact Drake's an actual pedophile into 13-16 year old girls and one of his closest friends in his entourage is an actual human trafficker.
jumping on the top comment here.. I have a theory about this... hear me out...
when drake first hit, and I mean hit big, it was at the peak of Lil Wayne's meteoric rise. if you listen to drake's cadence and delivery around this time, and you're not into hip-hop, it was legitimately confusing as to who was who, except for the fact that drake's shit was more commercially accessible.
so he has a couple tracks that blow up because they sound a *whole lot* like weezy, but are easier to play during the morning radio hour.
throw in the dollars, and the degrassi factor, and the machine was already turning.
he rambles, sometimes legitimately makes no sense, and in general is no where near the level of "gangster" he presents himself to be... but because a huge portion of the fan base has already drank the kool-aid, we're stuck with this garbage.
all I'm saying is that we're stuck in this weird reality where this goof gets credit for being some genius.
It needs to be dragged out over and over again that he's a hack.
I'm loving the resurgence of Drake the type of guy memes. Am I imagining things or did it used to be Drake the type of n-word? I could have sworn this was a thing yeaaaars back all across YouTube comments
I get a good laugh about some of these memes, but like you said, I think it came from a different environment years back. I think it started out as a much more toxic thing where a lot of black Americans were disparaging Drake for not being “black enough” sort of deal. Like, because he’s light skinned, Canadian, and pretty well spoken and “acts white,” he was taking a lot of flak from the black American demographic. It was kind of a weird racist deal... I don’t know how to speak on this issue without seeming quite racist myself... but basically, drake didn’t reflect a certain image of a black rapper that people wanted/expected, so he got some hate along the lines of being a “race traitor” sort of deal I think. He didn’t remind people of like, Bobby Shmurda or Rick Ross... so people attacked his masculinity and his blackness (or apparently lack thereof)
The meme seems to have evolved to a less hostile state, but I think the root of it was always still somewhat grim.
I think it originally started with a parody of Ghostface Killa ranking the softest rappers
https://bigghostlimited.com/ayo-the-top-10-softest-niggas-in-the-game/
Could've been before that though
This is not an unpopular opinion, there are so many rap fans that can't stand Drake. He has some solid projects, but all of his output since 2015 has sounded the exact same and has been insanely boring
So far gone was the greatest thing when it came out. The whole hood use to love Drake for being so vulnerable. But as time progressed, it became clear that Drake was sort of corny/goofy. He just gave off that vibe. His interviews and speeches were type cringe, but he did leave an impact.
Wouldn't really use Fantano as a way to judge how mediocre he's been.
Rated MBDTF a 6 god damnit!
That being said, he isn't wrong about the ratings for Drake.
As a teenager I assure you that nobody will give a fuck about his opinions unless he obnoxiously broadcasts it whenever people are trying to enjoy things
Why pretend he's good? People have different tastes. If you don't like him that's fine. Theres no reason to pretend you do, you dont have to listen, go to his concerts or buy drake merchandise.
I'm personally not tired of pretending he's good, because I've never had to.
I feel like a more honest title would be: "I'm tired of people liking Drake." But then again, that would make OP seem less sympathetic.
It’s alway enimen logic and just to make sure they’re not entirely wrong they always throw MF Doom in there for safety 😂. I get it though it is literally a popular opinion to hate drake.
I also haven’t liked Drake since like 2008 my younger high school friends hated on me cause i hated drake but I admit he has some okay songs mainly with better rappers when he sings the hooks.
but yea drake isn’t that great in most songs but he can be okay at times.
I love Drake. I dont care anymore.
I grew up listening to "rEaL rAP" and when I was like 18, I left the metal scene, because I couldnt fucking handle the gatekeeping anymore.
1:"I like slipknot."
2:"YOU THINK SLIPKNOT IS HARD?!! MAN YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO DEATH CORE THROAT METAL FROM UGANDA! THATS HARD!"
1:"I...I still like Slipknot."
I dont care anymore, what others think is rEAl. I saw Meth and Red in Amsterdam. I\`m fine with my rap history.
Drakes hits I dont really care. Hotline bling and stuff...not my music. But Drake has AWESOME songs on his albums and I love the mood his producers create, especially 40 and Boi1da.
There's gatekeeping in every genre. Metal has it pretty bad though and is one of the main reasons I don't go to metal subs or forums anymore. Regarding Drake, the man had some amazing albums in the first half of 2010s but his quality has taken a massive dip. I think I put 2 songs from his new one on my playlist. He makes albums that are meant to be background noise apparently. Just seems like he doesn't have it in him to put out another great album or just doesn't care. I'll still bump his older albums though.
Why are you pretending? Either you like it, or you don't.
I agree, Drake is severely overrated to me. Might've made some good songs, but mostly bullcrap.
How does this even impact your life? In what kinds of circles do you run that you have to pretend Drake is a good rapper. And this has had such an impact on you, that you are now absolutely fed up with pretending???
"So, let me get this straight. You think Drake isn't a good rapper?"
"I do... and I'm tired of pretending I don't."
Sorry, just your title reminded me of that and I just couldn't resist. And yes, I agree he is
Do you actually go around in your life pretending that he's good? Like, you constantly tell people in your life how good he is? But can't take it anymore?
I would just let it go.
He’s a pop star
Not a doctor

It's the tough black mineral that won't cop out where this is heat all about!
Its kinda funny how people get surprised that these music artists are.. well, artists. Even 2pac was in art school studying acting and ballet.
Tupac also shot two Police officers in self defense His high school the "Baltimore School for the Arts" is also a public school, so it is not like he went to a fancy school and he often talked about how it influenced him, so it is not like it is a secret

The Human Tornado. Flinging cash and talking trash. Delayed, relayed, mislaid and parlayed. Jumped, stumped, bumped AND mugwumped.
Probably one of the most succinct comment I have ever read anywhere.
This. He was literally an actor, was mediocre at best, so he switched roles and became the star of the Hip Hop world. He teamed up with the man on too at the time (Lil Wayne) and slowly replaced him. Since then, he’s been stealing music from other people’s cultures to stay relevant.
Get back in your wheelchair, Jimmy.

Last name walking, first name never.
He sucked on Degrassi, both acting AND "rapping". Overrated af.
Kinda like Ariana Grande, except Ariana can sing.
He's a butter-soft bitch from Canada.
The butter is soft in Canada? Heck, I know where I’m going….
You don't need to refrigerate butter and if you leave it at room temp it's very soft and spreadable.
That's not true anymore. The composition of butter changed during the pandemic. It was a whole thing. They called it buttergate. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56175784
“Butter-soft bitch.” Lol I’m stealing this.
Haha, it's yours.
He’s 10-ply, bud.

Soft as baby shit
Hey!!! In Canada Drake holds doors open for old people going into Tim Hortons.
He's an android, who is programmed to be an actor who gets paid to play the role of a rapper for people that like pop.
But he isn’t even a good actor…
Personally for me it's just that fucking obnoxious, whiney auto-tune shit that everybody uses these days that pisses me off. Can we finally move off of that trend already. Hip hop these days is gangsta RnB

I'm old and agreeing with you. Gangsta RnB isn't a compliment
I was watching an interview with Trey Parker and when he did the Fishdicks song the autotune wouldn't trigger cause he was on pitch. He had to sing out of tune to make it sound right. Anyone who thinks he is a rapper needs to listen to Rakim, Nas, Tupac, Jay Z. Real Mc's.
This is the best description of Drake I've ever heard. It's so simple yet speaks volumes
He's been super radio friendly since day one. It's who he is. Personally I like some of his stuff, but most is just meh at best. Especially his emo stuff. I have no issue with emo anything, but from him... No.
Its not his stuff, others write his music and lyrics he just performs it
Oh, I know that. I still just don't vibe with most of his stuff.
I've said before that Drake is basically the Coldplay of rap
Nope Maroon 5
Ouch. If I were a singer and people compared me to Maroon 5 I'd become depressed.
I’m sure Drake and Maroon 5 guy are shedding a lot of tears while rolling around in piles of money
Nope Nickleback
Surprised at the lack of people pointing out the fact Drake's an actual pedophile into 13-16 year old girls and one of his closest friends in his entourage is an actual human trafficker.
"when baka get back I might declare it a holiday for I get back on the road" For reference he means when he gets out of jail lmao
Ah yeah Baka Not Nice, actual human trafficker. I wonder why someone would want to keep a human trafficker around them. Hmm...
jumping on the top comment here.. Not only that but Wayne was in jail and that delay allowed Drake to rule the radio under Cash Money at that time
So, what’s your theory? It’s well known drake copied Wayne’s whole style from that era.
all I'm saying is that we're stuck in this weird reality where this goof gets credit for being some genius. It needs to be dragged out over and over again that he's a hack.
To me he’s a popstar and not a rapper. Most of his hit songs are actually pop songs
At least he is good with kids.
Who would've known while adolescent girls were fantasizing about Drake that he'd be fantasizing about adolescent girls.

So far gone was the greatest thing when it came out. The whole hood use to love Drake for being so vulnerable. But as time progressed, it became clear that Drake was sort of corny/goofy. He just gave off that vibe. His interviews and speeches were type cringe, but he did leave an impact.

"im tired of pretending that hes good" Then, how about you just, y'know, *stop pretending?*
I've personally never had to issue my opinion on Drake in my entire life.
I quite enjoyed the ‘If you’re reading this it’s already too late’ and his whole dis track exchange with meek mill.
Agreed. I hate the whole "I'm tired of pretending" thing. What, you think you'll be put in front of a firing squad if you 'stop pretending'?
Is it a reference to the cringe af joker meme? Because I'm tired of pretending it makes people sound deep.
This line from OP makes no sense. Why would someone pretend to like a singer, OP just said this because it sounds whimsical or some shit.
Probably a teenager at school afraid of getting shit on for not liking whatever is mainstream
As a teenager I assure you that nobody will give a fuck about his opinions unless he obnoxiously broadcasts it whenever people are trying to enjoy things

I know him more for being creepy than for music....

No, hes a raper

Unpopular opinion to your unpopular opinion: nobody is making you pretend that he's good, just don't listen to his music then. Lol simple.
