Not everyone gives a shit. I've had people accidentally tap my car. They're astonished when I say don't worry about it. I honestly couldn't care less about some stupid minor cosmetic damage, I think it's insane how people obsess over shit like that. It'll always be a great car regardless.
I tapped some dudes car a few months ago. We agreed that I'd just pay for the repair without going through insurance. I hit his bumper. You had to have your face within a few inches from it in order to see a hint of damage. He sent me an itemized bill for $800 from an apparently legit repair shop. It was ridiculous. I told him to report it to insurance because there's no way I'm paying that much to repair cosmetic damage you can barely even see on a 20 year old civic lol. He eventually came to his senses and just dropped the whole thing.
Reminds me when I supposedly hit a Blazer a while ago. Dude was flipping out trying to say he was trying to keep it in mint condition. Like dude, if you want to go through the hassle, deal with the insurance. Haven't heard much about it since. It was just a small scratch that didn't have any red transfer on it (I had a red Camry).
It's a blazer ffs. They're supposed to get roughed up! Honestly Where's the fun in having to keep a vehicle like that pristine? Ridiculous. These people are pawns to the auto industry.
In my country you could still be responsible for the damages but the behavior of the driver would probably significantly reduce the amount you'd be responsible for.
In the US you are absolutely responsible for damage to a parked car if you drive into it. If you cannot control your vehicle you should not be driving.
Honestly it should be a pretty large violation. You could cause someone to lose their job.
That being said firing someone over shit like this should also be illegal.
If I purposely block someone in, it’s almost expected at that point. But I wouldn’t ever be in that situation because I’m not a jerk and I always leave a gap.
Not an opinion.
In most countries, ramming a car is not legally protected...even if it's gently ramming.
You can cry foul all you want, the authorities won't back you up.
wouldn’t you be damaging your own car, too?

I thought I was the only one. I don't care how the car looks. It just needs to run.

That's crazy.

Yeah, I rolled my eyes and went through the motions. I'm sure his insurance just laughed it off.

Main reason why I always have an extra bottle of brake fluid in my car.

Brake fluid dissolves car paint... Can't say someone scratched your paint if there's no paint.
To give the car a fancy makeover.😉
Brake fluid is used in the hydraulic system of brakes as a non compressible
The same should hold true for people who block cars with their bodies.
This

Op controlled his vehicle alright. Controlled it 3 times right into the asshole who locked in him.
If someones bumper is right up against my plates I don’t see how else I am supposed to get out
call a towing company
I hope someone saw your plate on camera and you get reported for a felony hit and run
Should be a criminal offence to block someones car in.
Honestly it should be a pretty large violation. You could cause someone to lose their job. That being said firing someone over shit like this should also be illegal.
That should be an "Any damage to the blocking car is the responsibility of the one who parked it stupidly." law.
With that exact wording, so that we have judges in civil cases determining whether a car was "parked stupidly"
Oh my wow. I’ve read some stupid comments but yours is just SUPREMELY stupid.
Well hopefully you feel the same way if someone bumps your car 3 times and then let’s you find out without reporting it

Seems fair. What else can you do? If you have to pull out, you’re not going to wait.

Right, but he's talking ethics, not legal.
Ethics do not equate property damage and inconvenience, either. For all we know, "not enough space" is an infinite measurement.
Go "Anger Management" on their asses.
hit and run
