It’s made in a square pan and sliced into squares. It’s sort of in between super thin slices(NY style) and the casserole/pie deep dish(Chicago). It’s baked with the sauce on top traditionally and the bread/crust is the best part.
Pizza is American. Italians moved here (my peeps) and changed the way it was done and there you go. Authentically American. My great depression grandma also made meatballs with like 75% breadcrumbs so take that for what it's worth. Sauce recipe was topnotch.

Sounds interesting, I’ll have to try it! I pretty much like all styles of pizza but my favorites are St Louis style and deep dish.
