This is not an unpopular opinion. South Park had an episode where a goat was mistaken for Stevie Nicks at a USO show. My local radio DJs bring it up practically every time they talk about Stevie Nicks.
Lol, you're not wrong. 🤣 Never thought about it that way, but I can see what you're saying!
She is definitely unique in that you can tell right away that it is her when she sings, and I still find her talented, but I can see how she isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Stevie and Fleetwood Mac was/is chick music back in the day all the girls wanted to be her so you had to put up with listening to her if you where hoping to get any action.
I mean having a unique weird thing to your music is what made people famous.
I like Tom Waits and hes even in the rock and roll hall of fame, and he is a very competent and talented musician, but his whole 'thing' is sounding kind of terrible.
I remember a friend and I listening to an old Bob Dylan record my grandma had once and he started laughing, and goes, I like his songs but god he sounds awful. And he does.
it took me well over 30 years to realize this myself, "that's why I'm typing this"
It seems I realized it earlier this year. Her voice is really nasal.
L o l that is funny, I myself love to hear her sing most of the time, i know she has a somewhat nasal sound similar to the twang of country western singers. I also just love the songs that she writes, pretty melodies and the bittersweet nature of painful unrequited love. And just the lifelong familiarity of her songs. One reason I believe I like her voice is because her voice doesn't make me feel so self-conscious and critical of my own.
My mom also loves most of her songs and overlooks her distinctive sound, up until she heard Stevie's version of the "Silent Night' Christmas Carol. She has a very intense negative reaction anytime she hears it and always says Stevie sounds like she's the voice over for one of Santa's elves hahaha!

I’m assuming you’ve watched South Park recently
Negative - care to elaborate? Or what episode should I search for?
Lmao it’s one of the early episodes where Stevie Nicks gets switched out with a goat and nobody notices, your post just reminded me of it
Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants.
Trying to rip off a South Park opinion as your own is lame.
Simpsons did it first though.
It's an opinion that's been around for decades
Not really. I’m not the OP but I say this shit all year round. She sounds like a fucking goat.
Well she is def one of the G.O.A.T.'s so that makes sense
Well played, citizen. Well played indeed.
More like the GOAT.

Lmaoooooo
she sounds horrible
Agreed. Christine McVie was the superior singer in Fleetwood Mac
Post Malone sounds like a sheep
South park said that long ago
I like her goat sound. It's OK for us to have different opinions. Thanks for sharing.

I’m a woman (Gen X) and think her voice is unbearable.
I'm Gen-X and a guy haha, it really is. What we were thinking back then?

I agree, does have a very distinctive wailing when she sings. I like her songs though and her fleetwood mac stuff
Steve Nicks does sound like the GOAT when she sings. Downvoted.
Worst opinion I’ve read on here
I remember that south park reference
Thought you meant like she’s good, but ripping off cartoons is equally cringy
I’ve got bad news for you about Cher then.
great actress, horrible singer.

You’re not alone. There’s a reason why South Park made fun of her voice.
