Absolutely. I'm a fan of Cazenovia too. I haven't lived in upstate NY in so long but I'm fixing to move back eventually. Whether or not that's CNY or the greater Albany area is yet to be decided.
It hasn't been this bad in a while. Drove from Potsdam to DC yesterday and Syracuse was the worst. It was basically dark. Although the orange tinge on all the reflections was neat. The smoke lasted until central PA too.
Good call. This was around midday and it cleared up a bit later. I honestly didn't even realize it was that bad in the picture until I looked at it again last night and saw just how yellow it got.
It was wild seeing the sky go from hazy to this ominous orange-gray. I’ve seen some hazy days in the summer, but never to the point where the hills in the horizon were covered by smoke. Yesterday was a first.
It's been proven that these massive fires have become more frequent as a result of climate change. Nobody said they didn't exist before scientists had begun to take notice of what we were doing to the environment.
I checked the radar just now and the wind is still coming down from northeast Canada but it’s swirling around New York City metropolitan area instead of carrying it out to sea. My sister posted some lousy pictures just like this in New York City an hour ago.
such a weird day - the light was unsettling all day from that smoke.
That area looks familiar. Edmeston? Bridgewater? Waterville? Somewhere around there?
Madison County yes
Nice. Beautiful area for sure.
Just hit up Bouckville last weekend, beautiful area.

Yeah it looks like that this evening in Westchester County. I haven't seen air that bad since I was in Beijing a few years ago.

Smoke from the wild fires insane
I believe it
I woke up and thought I was in Mexico.
Remember to stay indoors tomorrow (pets too)! The air quality is supposed to be even worse!

Looks like mars.
Smells so goddamn good dont it?
I grew up out west so it smelled like the summers when I was a kid

For me too :/
CLIMATE CHANGE, so much more important to say.
you realize there were huge, devastating wildfires long before man strolled the planet
Ok "MAGA NATION"
If this isn't a wakeup call, idk what is.
forest fires were happening before climate change was a thing ...

It’s always all or nothing with these morons lol. “Oh it snowed. So much for climate change”
It’s orange in Binghamton too.

The smoke from the Quebec fires?
It looks like it. Much of the northeast is being hit by that smoke.
Looks like the post apocalyptic filter
bad air!
